They are so desperate
Honestly there's nothing wrong with re-releases. They're a good way for people that never experienced seeing them in theaters to watch them in their full quality so long as the venue is well maintained. Granted given Disney's current state I can understand why it comes off as desperate.
good thing piracy exists
I guess they're doing bad with their movies now so they have to milk the older ones instead
>Frozen - August 4
Hard pass, frick this movie
>Beauty and the Beast - August 18
This better be the original and not the fricking remake
>The Lion King - September 29
Again, this better be the fricking original.
This is because of lightyear and elemental isn't it?
Not just those two. Basically everything since the pandemic has bombed financially and critically.
They need to test the waters and see what's going to get people back in theaters, thinly veiled as part of the 100 anniversary festivities. We know for a fact that Toy Story 5 and Frozen 3 are happening, so they want to see what other genres people are interested in outside of Disney+ statistics.
>Toy Story & Frozen already have announced sequels in development.
>A princess movie
>A superhero movie
>Mexican culture movie
>African culture movie
>Moana live-action remake is announced
OP didn't mention it, but the first Pirates of The Caribbean is also part of it, so they're testing the waters (no pun intended) to see if that franchise still has any pull.
>toy story 5
i genuinely hope this is a troll

Pixar is fricked
Has been since all the major creatives left/died/got fired.
Nope it's real
>Mexican culture movie
YOOO this means only one thing
>PRIMOS THE MOVIE
>This is because of lightyear and elemental isn't it?
yup, a ploy for more money.
why not remaster the CGI with Toy Story and Bug's Life?
>and before "DISNEY USED TO RE-RELEASE MOVIES ALL THE TIME"
That was in the age before home video, or for a milestone anniversary.
They are covering this with saying it’s for Disney’s 100th
… which makes it shittier given no films before 1991 are being rereleased in theaters
James Cameron moment
I will pay tons of money if Fantasia is brought in theaters but that’s about it
Pointless now in this modern and previous age of these movie is being available in with VHS/laserdics/DVD/Blu-Ray/streaming
>Beauty and the Beast
>The Lion King
It's the remakes, isn't it?
No
>Beauty & the Beast
>Lion King
Disney did that a decade ago in 3D.
They did the first two Toy Story movies as a 3D double feature before 3 came out, too.
What small animation studio releases are they trying to bury this time?
See
>More shitquels
Why not just ya know, end the fricking story?
On one hand it’s nice to be able to see stuff like Incredibles on the big screen again.
On the other hand it’s obvious this is a sign that Disney is bleeding to death.
Is the Toy Story re-release a brand new updated upscale that’s going to be better than the previous 4K release?
Jesus frick is that a real screencap from the 4K? Just give this guy a film print and let him scan it, because obviously Disney has no fricking idea how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_Wwb4H0oxQ
>Disney will die in your lifetime
Oh its AWFUL for them rn
