The crucifix was a USB containing an anti-solver patch.
The only things that restrained Possessed Nori to any extent during the intro was the electromagnet in the floor and the UV floodlights - and evidently they didn't work *that* well since she breaks loose several minutes after.
Hell, when the intern held the crucifix up to try and ward Solver off she yanked it out of his hand and tried impaling his skull with it, only Yeva's intervention saved him.

7/10. Great fight sequences and plot twists, but two of the biggest reveals were trashed: USB crucifix with a solver patch getting introduced and immediately destroyed and Nori - while really cool - kinda jobbed hard and didn't accomplish much. Also, Thad and J still didn't do anything.
I'm sure everything set up that I didn't like will get a grand payoff in the last episode but jeez louise you people have no idea how much the crucifix getting set up and squandered is bugging me.
Nori was fricking awesome, frick you. I won't have you slandering her. She didn't job, she did very well against the Solver. Not even the Solver could handle Uzi's autistic sperg-out.

The ONLY THING IS WISH FOR IS THAT THERE WAS MORE TIME IN BETWEEN BIG MOMENTS. This story is incredible, and I wish there was an extra five minutes to let characters talk to eachother.
The VISUAL storytelling is fricking amazing, though. The show really goes hard on show-don't-tell, it makes the impact so much harder when your suspicions are shown to be true. I love how this show presents the story to you in such a stylish way, I just wish so badly that there was MORE time.

It wasa little surprising, she kept the act pretty well but the mask fell off. Problem is I can't tell what attacked Doll in the tunnels and if it's the same thing that 'Tessa' is, it happened so fast.
To be fair, she was ambushed by Cyn after being thrown off by 'Tessa' cutting her eyepatch off. And she didn't watch anime like Uzi did so she really had no fighting chance. I guess she really did job. Question is did she job harder than J in the pilot or in ep 7?

I am very, VERY okay with this.
It was the Solverpede formed by V's corpse. It first used a puppet of maid V to mess with N, then switches to Cyn. That's why Nori is asking who the host is that's chasing them, because it's neither Uzi or Doll.
It was Tessa the Human.
When the rocks came down, she and N were on one side and she "mysteriously" disappeared while N was out.
They made a point of showing that the elevator is blocked off. No way up or down. N was trying to blast through the rubble to get back to V.
Anon, look very closely as it's charging through the tunnel and it's obviously a giant Solverpede creature. The Tessa flesh-puppet was very distinct in how it attacks, the Solverpede was using puppetry to frick with N.
As we saw with Dr. Chambers and Nori, or even with Cyn in the manor, snake body, holograms and tentacles are part of its standard repertoire, one of the forms it can switch between literally on a whim.
And getting to the extensive body requires access to material and (it looked like) a timescale that exceeds elapsed time since they entered the elevator.
Anon, there was a frick load of Sentinels around V for the emerging Solverpede to immediately assimilate, explaining why her body is gone in the Ep 7 teaser and why the Solverpede is so huge when it chases N and Nori in the tunnels.

Given the attention to detail we've seen (but why is 106 Luke breaking up what otherwise looks like numerical order?), can't imagine that would slip past. They talked about doing internal reviews of the full thing and something like that seems like it would be easy to fix before release, unlike animation errors.

Was this episode even "real"? Like where the events in this story just a vision in Uzi's and N's mind while they're still going down the elevator? Honestly the events of the story have a dreamlike quality to them. Surprise there's as cure for the Solver! Surprise, Nori is alive. But the cure is destroyed and Nori dies anyways. Crushing all hope.
My crackpot theory is that this is just a dream that the Solver is using to mentally break Uzi, she's gonna wake up next episode outside the crashed elevator.
More likely that the information Tessa shared was fabricated.
Its apparent that Tessa never escaped the Manor and Cyn claimed her as one of her toys.
On another note, kind of disappointed in how poorly Humanity combatted Solver when she was storming Earth.
I understand that she did blind-side them and was something they had never encountered before, but still I expected better.
I think they tried to fight, hard, and probably tried to save the planet instead of just stoping the solver, some nukes would have been nice, but being attacked from nowhere with no time to react and trying to save instead of just destroying is kind of hard
And we probably only saw the end of the fight
Who knows, that scene with the computer screen images might just be 'Tessa'/Cyn's fabrication. It can trick a human with a hologram of the cathedral interior with humans acting like everything was normal even though just moments before things were going south, tricking N who has been its puppet for all this time wouldn't have been much harder.
Presumably, they were testing. Trying to develop one that could purge Solver from a Drone.
Consider the level of incremental testing required to develop a vaccine for a random shitty virus. Now imagine if that Virus was sapient, able to manipulate matter on a molecular level, and fricking hated your guts.
With that said - given that testing was ongoing when the Core Collapse happened - it's unclear if the patch USB that Solver!Uzi destroyed would've even been effective. At the very least, Nori thought so.

2. Tessa died (or, I guess, was already dead)
3. Doll died
4. Not even a hint of V, thus confirming she's fricking dead

That Tessa/Cyn being is a terrifically horrific design, Cyn literally wore her skin over her drone chassis and Nori Core was adorable and badass at the same time. It's just A Lot to take in.
Feels like this added to BHL's trauma. I tried to make them fit the story since that's how I tend to operate in making fan characters but all of this just adds up to the character trauma. It was confirmed that DDs on Earth at least were formed and started attacking humans, that scene where they ripped a human and one just ate their arm was horrifically good. It means I can make H suffer worse if he was the designated one in his team to keep his memory intact, like V is theorized to be since she directly called out Cyn's name in Cabin Fever (minus that H doesn't know who Cyn is or what the Solver even is).
That's gonna come tomorrow or the day after, but I will say, W should feel lucky that she doesn't remember anything after her last days in the company all the way to crash landing on C9, cuz the idea of her eating a human would want her want to rip her own core out. 13 would just straight up commit suicide because of the implications relating to someone.

y'know, it never really made sense as to why Tessa would be working with the murder drones in the first place, since they became puppets of Cyn. Never really questioned it till now
Well remember, the original narrative was that JC Johnson made them specifically to kill the defective drones. It just turns out that narrative was bullshit and they were puppets helping Cyn with her galaxy large buffet table except for N who she intentionally uses as a sleeper to inevitably sniff out whomever the Solver host on that planet would be. Though considering V it's possible only J's really a full on puppet unless she's just so stupid she actually believes she's just working for JC Johnson
but once we found out it was Cyn making the murder drones and Tessa explained that she was there to defeat Cyn, it should've become immediately obvious something wasn't right. Why would J come back and be on their side now? Why would Tessa be working with Cyn's creations?
I think J is stuck so deep in her company-lower LARP that she still fully believes the lie, it wouldn't make sense for J to be on the Solver's side willingly after the events of the Gala.
im still processing it because it ties together a ton of things from previous episodes. Easily the best one so far, which is honestly pretty impressive since they seem to keep getting better with each episode. I fear my expectations for episode 8 are going to be unreasonable at this rate

I am very happy with how things went, Nori and Yeva seemed quite cool, though I see where Alice dislike came from. It is a lot, shame about Doll but the entire thing was kino. Also N did better than expected, I cheered too loud when he took of faketessa's head. N was awesome, didn't expect it, surface WDs were good as well. Kinda feel as if JxKhan has the slightest chance.
Anywqys, as things look I think we'll get a good ending over all, for Alice specifically, we'll see but status quo apparently won't change and we are outta harms way I( hope). It's better this way. We've gotten to a point that there's not much they can do after beating a LITERAL ELDRICH GOD that is directly influenced with all drones and the death of humanity. They might be able to do some fun in-between stuff but it's going to be a story nicely wrapped up in a nice little bow. Better it be like this and not a zombie like The Simpsons or Family Guy.

I can't believe we actually saw the fighting that took place on Earth. It was completely unexpected, but holy frick was it done well. We sort of speculated for a while now that the DDs were used like this by the Solver to attack worlds and prepare them for consumption, but this was actually horrific. I love that this presented the DDs in a scary way again.

It seems that the AS let them keep some memories, but the JCJ thing was to maintain them doing what the AS needed them to do without being there forcing them, is easier when someone does something because they want to instead of being forced to

Nope. It was unexpected since it's new information, we learned a few new things about Solver witches. Pilot J had her Solver core reactivate to try and rebuild her but it was under Cyn's administration, effectively an extension of Cyn as puppeteered by the Solver. But now we know Nori and Yeva's Solver cores are basically theirs, the anchor that allows them to use its powers technically belong to them as long as they don't overuse it and give their selves to the AS.

Yeah, I admit the circumstances of Solver power usage isn't clear to me. It was just supposition on my part, but Yeva seemed to have shown to be the calmer of the two. So based on the list that 'Tessa' found, Nori might be the more volatile candidate while Yeva seemed less likely to be possessed. I'm still trying to process some of the things the Solver said. Also I'm glad to see Uzi fricking outsperg'd the Solver's control. That was hilarious.

In the flashback, we see that N, V and J were all on Earth as it was being consumed by the Solver. N is eating some random human before he becomes aware in the flashback. The Solver literally refers to him as "you backups".

As in, in the present? Yeah. In this episode, there's at least the human researchers at the cathedral. It kind of confirms to me that humans found a way to loosen the Solver's grasp on the drones that it manages to control. Plus Uzi fricking showed that you can OUTSPERG the Solver's control, enough emotional feedback from her own internal coding kicked the Solver off from puppeteering her.
She fell into the fleshpit. I'm theorizing she was at the gateway where the Solver is about to break into the universe or she got pulled straight into its dimension.
Would be nice if we got a better look at that page. That line about "ensures control" is probably the key to why cyn wants to kill the other solver hosts. But then why would other hosts not be automatically under control? Solver is a hivemind after all.
The Solver needs corpses, presumably to power the Singularity and consume the planet. It doesn't care about the possibility of other hosts, the Disassembly Drones themselves are all hosts of the Solver too and it seems to only concern itself with one "primary" WD host at a time. Like Cyn, Nori, or Uzi.

7/10. Great fight sequences and plot twists, but two of the biggest reveals were trashed: USB crucifix with a solver patch getting introduced and immediately destroyed and Nori - while really cool - kinda jobbed hard and didn't accomplish much. Also, Thad and J still didn't do anything.
I'm sure everything set up that I didn't like will get a grand payoff in the last episode but jeez louise you people have no idea how much the crucifix getting set up and squandered is bugging me.
Nori was fricking awesome, frick you. I won't have you slandering her. She didn't job, she did very well against the Solver. Not even the Solver could handle Uzi's autistic sperg-out.
She was fricking awesome, but what did she do that had a lasting consequence in this episode?

The ONLY THING IS WISH FOR IS THAT THERE WAS MORE TIME IN BETWEEN BIG MOMENTS. This story is incredible, and I wish there was an extra five minutes to let characters talk to eachother.
The VISUAL storytelling is fricking amazing, though. The show really goes hard on show-don't-tell, it makes the impact so much harder when your suspicions are shown to be true. I love how this show presents the story to you in such a stylish way, I just wish so badly that there was MORE time.

It wasa little surprising, she kept the act pretty well but the mask fell off. Problem is I can't tell what attacked Doll in the tunnels and if it's the same thing that 'Tessa' is, it happened so fast.
Tessa disappeared in the tunnel, then ran back and gutted Doll. After that, she eats Doll's Solver-corrupted core and assimilates her.
Ahh, okay. So it wasn't two separate characters, 'Tessa' disappeared from Doll's view and ambushed her.

To be fair, she was ambushed by Cyn after being thrown off by 'Tessa' cutting her eyepatch off. And she didn't watch anime like Uzi did so she really had no fighting chance. I guess she really did job. Question is did she job harder than J in the pilot or in ep 7?

It was the Solverpede formed by V's corpse. It first used a puppet of maid V to mess with N, then switches to Cyn. That's why Nori is asking who the host is that's chasing them, because it's neither Uzi or Doll.

When the rocks came down, she and N were on one side and she "mysteriously" disappeared while N was out.
They made a point of showing that the elevator is blocked off. No way up or down. N was trying to blast through the rubble to get back to V.
Anon, look very closely as it's charging through the tunnel and it's obviously a giant Solverpede creature. The Tessa flesh-puppet was very distinct in how it attacks, the Solverpede was using puppetry to frick with N.
And when doll is attacked you can freeze frame and see it is tessa.
As we saw with Dr. Chambers and Nori, or even with Cyn in the manor, snake body, holograms and tentacles are part of its standard repertoire, one of the forms it can switch between literally on a whim.
And getting to the extensive body requires access to material and (it looked like) a timescale that exceeds elapsed time since they entered the elevator.

That Tessa/Cyn being is a terrifically horrific design, Cyn literally wore her skin over her drone chassis and Nori Core was adorable and badass at the same time. It's just A Lot to take in.
Feels like this added to BHL's trauma. I tried to make them fit the story since that's how I tend to operate in making fan characters but all of this just adds up to the character trauma. It was confirmed that DDs on Earth at least were formed and started attacking humans, that scene where they ripped a human and one just ate their arm was horrifically good. Nope. It was unexpected since it's new information, we learned a few new things about Solver witches. Pilot J had her Solver core reactivate to try and rebuild her but it was under Cyn's administration, effectively an extension of Cyn as puppeteered by the Solver. But now we know Nori and Yeva's Solver cores are basically theirs, the anchor that allows them to use its powers technically belong to them as long as they don't overuse it and give their selves to the AS.
I'm still so torn between referring to "Cyn". The characters themselves switch between "Cyn" and "the Solver" - I think it's just that since Cyn was the first host they're pretty much one-in-the same now?
I'm just going to stick with calling it the Solver, and Cyn for Solver-possessed Cyn.

Will probably have to talk about this next thread, but this episode confirms that the Disassembly Drones are all "backups" - copy-and-pasted and sent out to the various planets to enact the Solver's will.
In the flashback, we see that N, V and J were all on Earth as it was being consumed by the Solver. N is eating some random human before he becomes aware in the flashback. The Solver literally refers to him as "you backups".

As in, in the present? Yeah. In this episode, there's at least the human researchers at the cathedral. It kind of confirms to me that humans found a way to loosen the Solver's grasp on the drones that it manages to control. Plus Uzi fricking showed that you can OUTSPERG the Solver's control, enough emotional feedback from her own internal coding kicked the Solver off from puppeteering her.
