no one cares about the comics, unironically the most retsrted plot line in comic history, glad they changed 99% of it completely

          >the book/comic is better than the show

Imagine being an adult in 2024 and actually reading books or comics.

Whenever someone says they read books all I can think of is "ultra normie" that thinks he's smart for reading words on a page (and even then, most "yeah I've read the book" these days are just idiots listening to some other guy reading it for them as if they were fricking toddlers).

If you read comics, I just think of you as a pathetic nerd with 0 taste, similar to how I think of people that enjoy anime.

Dont reply to me unless you have a MSc and above 130 IQ btw.

          >the comics
nobody that isn't a loser reads comics.

          Steaming hot moronation on tap.

I remember reading somewhere that a single manga outsold all western comics combined. Kids don't buy them anymore. It's a dead industry. Also "adult/mature" comics have always been for weirdo edgelords.

Isn't it a different character? In the comics the Soldier Boy that gets raped by Homelander is a modern version taking up the mantle of Soldier Boy, the original that was in WW2 was dead IIRC and that's the one Jensen is playing in the show

Been watching up to season 2 and I'm glad they turned Ennis' trenchcoat 'ard man donut steel self insert Gary Sue into a pathetic cuck. Show is good but they've fricked it by not having any female nudity and letting starlight get bogged.

Liked everything about this character except when he started screeching at a random guy carrying his baby in a sling. What's wrong with that?

This show is so infuriatingly bad. It’s *this* close to being good but just falls flat on its ass every time it actually matters and all the characters have been turned into walking talking jokes so who gives a shit anymore

The book is somewhat verbose but has some moments that btfo this show.
    >homelander calling the deep a Black person
    >the clone twist
    >the super morons arc with malchemical
    >maeve is hotter, an actual prostitute, and actually dies
    >hughie is a weakling but not a total homosexual
    >starlight is not annoying and way hotter
    >butcher is a true psychopath
There’s some forgettable characters and skippable moments in the books but those ending and epilogue arcs (homelander’s and butcher’s) will never come to fruition and butcher is a cuck in the show. And also I hate show Frenchie, he’s an Arab or something

Fair enough. But i feel like he grows more as a person in the comics than in the show

Yes I agree. I’m saying in the show he’s weaker both physically and emotionally, and certainly develops way less as a character

      Also
      >Swingwing the gay supe
      >Teenage Kix
      >Tek-Knight’s little problem
      >Frenchie and Female’s backstories as invented by Frenchie
      >Little Nina and the Russian arc
      >The Legend and the origin of the Blarney wiener
      >Mallory’s wartime remembrances
Just so many great little mini-arcs and episodes.

The show was good up until the second half of season 3. Homelander is supposed to be to a normal supe what a supe is to a normie but he gets fought to a standstill by brave Maeve? How am I supposed to find him a threat any more?

In the comics. He b***hslaps Maeves head off with one hit. There is a small power difference

Do they come up with increasingly contrived reasons for why Homelander doesn't just kill everyone in the comics too? In the show it's like they ran out of ways to avoid the inevitable showdown so they had to massively reduce his power level.
