I liked it as a kid. I appreciate Super Show more now for its live action sequences, but as a kid obsessed with Mario 3 I was excited when I caught it.

Super Show is more beloved/remembered because it came first. In actuality, Mario 3 is probably the most faithful to Mario's world out of all three cartoons.

      And yes, nowadays as and

I thought Super Show, 3 and World were all the same showas a kid

, the differences aren't as clear cut as Sonic SatAM vs AoStH, so a lot of people just view them as different seasons of the same DiC Mario show.

Same for me, it seemed like the only one that actually tried to adapt the games, take place in the game world and use game mechanics in the stories.

Same. As a kid, I never noticed that there suddenly were dinosaurs and cavemen. It was always the same show.

The live-action was the funny part of Super Show and 3 dropped it.

Are they supposed to be different cartoons? I thought they were like seasons.

My head exploded when I realized this and Super Show were two separate cartoons

They're both, they all canonically happen one after the other

The Mario 3 cartoon had episode where they went back and forth to (an animated) Brooklyn. It was a much more slice-of-life style of show when compared to the Super Show and Mario World. It focused more on just the lives of them living in the Mushroom Kingdom and Koopa dealing with his 7 children.

Yeah they were different shows, even though they were all made by DiC.

Super Show was made for syndication in afternoons on random networks in 98. Mario 3 was made for NBC Saturday Mornings and they only made a handfull of episodes. The next year World was made that took the place of three so 3 and World are more like different seasons of the same thing.

I honestly thought that THIS was the Super Mario Bros Super Show, and that they aired some cartoon episodes for SMB1, SMB3, and SM World during it. I also thought they would occasionally air the Zelda cartoon as well. Is my memory just that bad?

Zelda was part of Super Show. SMBSS aired Mario cartoons Monday through Thursday, with a Zelda cartoon airing on Friday.

It was a Saturday morning show only, it was only on for a single year, and there are just like 12 episodes of it.

Super Show was in syndication in afternoon for years and was very well known. So more people remember it.

Eurogay reporting in. In the UK, we only had the Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World cartoons playing on POP in the 2000's, so it was weird to me when I found out about the Super Mario Bros Super Show, like finding out about an old pilot episode to your favourite cartoon where everything from the animation to the voice acting feels off compared to what you're used to.

I'm not sure why we didn't get it? Perhaps due to the licensed music and live-action segments? Even though there are versions of those episodes that don't include them but, Idk.

We also had the Captain N cartoon on POP (right after the SMB3 cartoon, IIRC Super Mario World was a double bill), but no Legend of Zelda.

      >IIRC SMW was a double bill
That's how it was stateside as well. Episodes of World were often paired with episodes from the final season of Captain N.
