For all their hand wringing about the state of modern movies, for all their posturing about conforming to higher standards, it doesn't dispel their fixation on children's IPs. If they truly cared about improving the quality of current films, they would've sought out foreign releases or try to spread word on independent films. Instead, their eyes are transfixed on whatever Spiderman recently appeared in, it's really sad.

even then there are good children's films. Paddington 1 and 2 were good, some non-English films like Secret of Kells or My Life as a Courgette.
