I want to make a show where I queer bait the protagonist with her rival-turned-best friend, I mean pretty much imply they're going to be together, and then at the finale have the protagonist get with one of her male friends instead.
Can you imagine the twitter rage if we had 3 hard seasons of queer bating, just to end like that?

Nice
I can do you one better. What if they both get with the same male friend, and (having kept up a persona this whole time as a woke kweer uwu creator) you excitedly post on Twitter about the polyamory representation you got to air? But then if you pay any attention to the worldbuilding of the show at all it's clear that it's set in a deeply trad patriarchal society where polygyny is encouraged for the elite because women are a form of property.
I'll admit, I was skeptical when I read this
>I can do you one better.
But man, that is way better than my idea! I wonder if you could confuse some people on twitter by having the women really be into it, and act okay with being essentially property. How much honest defense would the concept get?
Maybe if you got some Muslims on-board in the production crew and drew aesthetics and worldbuilding inspo from traditional Middle Eastern civilizations (like Avatar draws from Asia)?
AND you get the added benefit of accusing anyone who's against this idea of being racist some kind of bigot! Oh, that might be playing on easy mode, but I'd love to do it.
A polyamory relationship is a big no-no for kids TV, I'd have the rival hook up with a boy and the protag not hooking up with anybody (because not every protag needs a love interest)
Mtn dew it, get good at writing and then pitch it to a studio, or upload it to youtube and watch the shitstorm unleash at the end of the show.
Daydream or make it,your choice
I want to create comic sequels to properties with implied but not confirmed lesbians were i play the undertones even harder only to rugpull at the last minute with heterosexual weddings and families
Eh, just make everything into a series that only shows one character who never speaks or does anything but stand there against a white background for 22 minute episodes that lasts 4 seasons. The character is silhouetted against a white background with as minimal features as possible. Post about how the shoe is breaking barriers and brag about your representation and watch as these people build elaborate lore to justify their shipping and perversions. Hype up the last episode, which is the same as all the others except for the last minute, which is just a title card that reads, "Meaningless." And they'll hail you as a genius for wasting their time.
But that's not fun. Its much more fun to bait the shit out of twitter types, and then essentially cuck one character and have the MC end up in a straight relation ship with 3 kids, a house, and a husband.
>my primary motivation is to generate twitter rage
please have a nice day
This is too good of an idea to kill myself and waste.
I've never watched that new Rescue Rangers and don't know the controversy.
Props to based anon. Anyway the Rescue Rangers controversy is that in the reboot, decades after the original show came out, we learn that Gadget married Zipper (the ambiguously-sapient fly) and had, uh, dozens of kids? Can't remember the exact number. Also a black guy voices Zipper.
It's not really canon though because it's framed as a Who Framed Roger Rabbit situation where they're actors.
I like that, for how bad Reddit is, most people don't consider it as bad as twitter. With Reddit, you'd get a post like "Let me break down the nuance of the polyamory where women seem to be property in this cartoon" while Twitter would just devolve into screeching.
The trick would be setting it up well enough that some people see it coming, and you can point to all the foreshadowing to say it was well-established, but also not setting it up so obviously that it becomes the fandom consensus, so it is still a shocking swerve for the Twitter crowd.
Do this
and make it obvious to anyone that isn't a twitter homosexual that the male character makes a better partner for the protagonist than the female one
Just pull a Rescue Rangers but with the same sex
I know it won't happen, but I really wish that would be how TOH ends. Disney will never let it come back after 'season' 3 anyways, so they may as well go out with a bang.
I feel like, even if it did end like that, it would be more of a somber thing of two people growing apart. With mine, it would be blatant cucking, with the one character going "I love my husband!" while the other character kind of sits there and wishes she ended up with the other chick.
Honestly, I would love to see the reaction from that, seriously.
I think lesbians getting cucked is rare. More of that kind of representation would be amazing!
Whoops, forgot the picture.
Seems like a lot of time, effort, and money for the sake of pissing off some people on twitter who like different cartoons than you do.
literally what i plan to do with my life
Watch. 10 fricking years. Hell, 5.
Don't set your expectations too unrealistically, anon, but don't stop chasing your dreams, either.
3 years. ill make it an online cartoon.
(Elaborating: I think all of us with anything worth speaking about creativity-wise have had dreams of running our own show. I can remember mine, which I was truly devoted to a few years back. I really do wish I'd stuck with it, although in retrospect my tastes have become more degenerate since I conceived of it anyway.)
how long were you devoted to it?
A year or two. Had the misfortune of having a life-upending crisis hit me a few weeks after coming up with it, though; if that hadn't happened maybe I'd still be at it.
ah well, unfourtunate. Did you have a specific strategy behind it? Like a timeline of sorts?
Figured I'd make it as an internet cartoon; actually had some plans for a very fancy assembly-line method for getting artists to make good in-betweens on a timely basis, although it probably would have fallen apart on contact with reality (I haven't really looked into this latest VivziePop story, but the basic threat of employees deciding they didn't get a good enough deal working with you and trying to get you cancelled later definitely sounds like a nightmare I'm socially ill-equipped to manage). Needed to build up better art skills first though.
ye, art skills are what im working on right now. spending like 3 hours every weekday in deep work doing that.
next up, i'd be making a small fanbase on yt before posting the cartoon. Probably take around 3 monsths at least, one year at most.
The cartoon itself would have corners cut everywhere. The animation would be a slightly smoother version of storytime animaton, just enough to give the illusion of movement jumping from storyboard to storyboard. If it comes to it I wouldn't even color it in, just have the lines colored.
It's more about the story to me, and hopefully the simplistic nature of the design would caputre the imaginations of people. (Although thats just cope for the lack of quality)
Anon is too embarrassed about his fetish and his social views to speak coherently about them, and is instead talking about pissing off Twitter people. I support anon in his endeavors but I do wish he would admit to his nobler and purer motivations.
WOAH DUDE THAT WOULD BE LIKE, SO TOTALLY EPIC! TROLLED FOR THE LULZ XD!
How come a show with a same-sex relationship is "queer baiting" but a show with a straight relationships isn't "straight baiting"?
Queer baiting is when it seems like a same sex pair have chemistry, but then they don't get together. For straight baiting, imagine if in The Office, it turns out Jim is just super into sucking dick and didn't like Pam at all.
Queer baiting gets you headlines, praising you for being brave and stunning and a doubled fanbase filled with either fujos or yurispergs.
That does not happen with straight relationships so it's not really something you can "bait" in the same way.
You don't even know what the term means.
It's both
You bait fans and journos into thinking character X and Y MIGHT just end up being a gay couple, they build up hype, only for it to never come into fruition by the end.
Its called How I met Your Mother
and its fricking stupid
>Can you imagine the twitter rage
No because I'm not a gay who spends every waking moment seething at irrelevant dumbfricks on twitter.
bonus points if you do an epilogue where you reveal the other girl was bi and ended up with a guy too
You think this is a new idea?
To do it in a way that's like a subtle "frick you" to a very specific demographic? Yeah, actually. Most queer-baiting comes from trying to grab headlines, to explicitly to piss off twitter people in a move that even I would say is fricking stupid and gay, and I'm the one planning it.
You understand that queer baiting exists as a term because it's a thing that shows and movies already do, right? And you seem to be laboring under the delusion that people get praised for it, but that's not the case at all.

You have brain damage.
Oh it's so hard to only have 99% of media cater to your life experience. The 1% that doesn't is so enraging, and you're forced to watch it, couldn't you just die?
I agree, anon, that must be what the dumb normies will think when OP gets his way.
Will that be before or after Trump is reinstated as the real winner of the election?
post-dimension-merge
>The 1% that doesn't is so enraging, and you're forced to watch it, couldn't you just die?
So, I just want to clarify that this has nothing to do with media, and everything to do with pissing off the people that partake in toxic fanbases, twitter moralizing and the like. I might just have gay characters in the story, too. I just want to queer bait the protagonist to see the seething online.
So basically Tokyo Ghoul but with the sexes reversed and no explicit multi-chapter sex scene?
Sounds hilarious, I'd be down for it just to see shipper tears.
>not posting the canon
Frick off with your fanfic OP
It's been done. Not by Disney, which is just getting in the market, but that feels like some Lifetime or prime time soap b plot.
Now, it does happen irl. Ask Elton John.
Vete a la mierda piraña
They could absolutely do that. Disney met its queer quota for this year with Lightyear and posting Happy Pride on twitter
I like the way you think, anon
i hope that happens one day just to annoying disgusting homosexuals
