>Mystery paranoia kino ends on a shit note because the writer is one of the characters in the film pushing his (confirmed false) headcanon.
Shame, it was almost perfect.

Fincher
>creates atmosphere
>creates tension
>creates good dialogue
...
>never has a deeper premise
>never knows what he wants to tell
>falls flat in the last act
never ending story
He has the Ridley Scott disease, great filmmaker who loves working with shit scripts for some reason.
The point of the movie isn't revealing who the Zodiac was.
>The point of the movie isn't revealing who the Zodiac was.
Then why did they reveal who the Zodiac was? Especially when it turned out to be wrong?
You have to rewatch but pay attention this time around. The movie has several layers but even on the most elementary one you've been filtered hard
You pompous blowhard.
why are you still getting filtered in 2023?
Crazy to think that one of the best scripts he's ever worked with was from Aaron Sorkin.
>ever has a deeper premise
knows what he wants to tell
flat in the last act
patently moronic take. He literally made a mystery thriller so fricking good that it completely killed the entire genre because every other movie just feels like a pale comparison.
With one of the most widely ridiculed endings in all of cinema history.
more like widely beloved.
>He literally made a mystery thriller so fricking good that it completely killed the entire genre because every other movie just feels like a pale comparison.
Do Se7enbabs really, it's a solid neo-noir film but c'mon.
Style over substance kino
>but le city..... le rain!!
That's every modern filmmaker except for the first three usually
Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Holland and Ty Simpkins and Henry Golding are relentlessly handsome.
This is why The Batman is the best thriller to watch over and over
>The Batman
Insomnia cure.
i really hope you're just baiting
there is no ending, that's kinda the point of why the zodiac mystery is so compelling.
>there is no ending, that's kinda the point of why the zodiac mystery is so compelling.
Except the final line of the movie is one of the survivors pointing out exactly who it is, and it turns out to be the same person Jake Gyllenhaal's character (aka the IRL cartoonist and writer's self-insert) suspected to be the killer, so that really doesn't leave any wiggle room.
who did he point to? I had trouble following the movie's last bit.
Literally just rewatch the ending dude, the whole "open ending" is bullshit. The film very blatantly says its Arthur Leigh Allen.
*deep sigh* time for the age-old pass-time of explaining to arthurautists why arthur leigh allen was and remains the main suspect
>went around telling multiple people that he was the zodiac killer
>child molester notorious for craving attention
>liked to make ciphers in his spare time way before the first murder
>kids he molested claimed that arthur, a mere three blocks away from one of the crime scenes, admitted he was the killer
>same kids claim they were abused by arthur at the zodiac crime scenes
>guy had a massive heart attack a week before he was gonna' be interviewed regarding the case
>hand-drawn map of lake berryessa in his basement
>he was a gun collector who had a winchester super x
>known to hate cops and schools
>military background
>same shoe size as the killer
>lived around the corner from the diner darlene ferrin worked at
>was snitched out by 2 different unrelated sources to the cops
>had bomb making materials
>admitted to having bloody knives in his car the day of the lake berryessa attack
>had a watch with the word "zodiac" on it inside a cross-hair symbol
were the kids he molested boys or girls?
Boys I believe
All circumstantial evidence, doesn't prove a thing
Counter points:
>His fingerprints, DNA and handwriting did not match Zodiac’s. It is not certain that the DNA or fingerprints were actually Zodiac’s but he did not match the samples the police had
>He was not a particularly good match for the police sketch of Zodiac which is likely a pretty good likeness. Even in 1969 his face was much fuller.
>He was taller and heavier than descriptions of Zodiac. Zodiac was generally described as 5′9″ or 5′10″ and 160–200 lbs. Katheleen Johns put him at 5′9″ and 160–170. Allen (in 1971) was 6′ and 250. The Napa County Sheriff’s Department did estimate Zodiac at 225 lbs
>In 1969 he was about 44 years old. Most descriptions of Zodiac guessed his age as 28–35. The FBI profile in 1978 guessed him at early 20s. (Based on his voice Bryan Hartnell and Nancy Slover did both guess mid 40s though)
>He was definitely not Kathleen Johns’ abductor. She identified her abductor as Zodiac immediately upon seeing the police sketch and in 1992 picked Lawrence Kane from a 16 photograph line up which included Allen’s picture. She had spent at least 90 minutes in a car with Zodiac and had the best look at him of anyone. Zodiac later bragged about the abduction in a letter to the Chronicle.
Pic related is the police sketch compared to a picture of Allen from the same time. Arthur probaly just liked scaring people into thinking he was the Zodiac since, as you said, he liked attention.
Didn't they recently find what they think is the real killer and he died in 2018 or something?
That was a random indipendent agency and no one from the police or FBI confirmed any of that
Some college losers wanted to make a name for themself and failed miserably
Every few years there’s a new “zodiac killer uncovered” series of headlines and reports
In the police interview he also, completely unprompted
>admits that he was seen in possession of bloody knives the day of the lake attack
>admits that he had made plans to go to the lake on the day of the attack
>admits that he was in Southern California at the time of the Bates murder
>calls cops "pigs"
>admits that his favorite book in highschool was The Most Dangerous Game
I mean come on. It was either him or he wanted them to think it was him
>movie set in late 60s about serial killer
>hurdy gurdy man by Donovan starts playing
what a garbage movie
We don’t know who Zoe D ACK really is so there was no way to give the film a good ending
>We don’t know who Zoe D ACK really is so there was no way to give the film a good ending
If the dude at the end had pointed at another guy than the one Graysmith suspected it would have been a more kino ending
Its the point if the movie you brainlet, the movie is biased cause its told from the perspective of Graysmith who's obsessed with Zodiac. Zodiac himself is just a background for the story, he's just there. Movie ends when Toschi and Graysmith are able to convince themselves that they know who Zodiac is, and are finally able to move on with their lives, leaving Zodiac behind.
Fincher should make a movie about the Zebra Murders that happened in the same area around the same time.
wrong anon
this movie was a satanic ritual perpetrated by the same entity that perpetrated the murders
the united states government which was created by Rome
