first half of Sane Man is some legitimately incredible standup but it tanks as soon as he gets on his smug soapbox political shit, and unfortunately that's what the rest of his career consisted of. Revelations is almost unwatchable. his takes aren't even that awful but his attitude is total aids, reminds me of a high school debate club

Yes because its much better if we don't collectively do much to address the problem of aging or dying in agony and instead compel people to cling to vague hope and mainstream superstitions because they have nothing else of value since underdog stories are inspiring.

If people want to die, they should be able to die, I said the problem was aging and agony, not necessarily dying.

You can't do anything about it, that is my point, it is a collective problem, something we need to figure out collectively instead of clinging to good intended unprovable Mother Teresa tier hope that the suffering is actually good and will build character for some afterlife.

you dont think there are thousands of young people living in agony because of terrible health problems? what do you think places like St Jude and Shriners hospital for children are for?

Both aging and agony are problems that need to be fixed, dipshit, its not just a problem when you experience both at the same time and I never suggested such a thing.

Pretending you are going to live forever in heaven isn't actually dealing with your mortality, it is actively denying reality so you don't have to think about the bad parts and you are mentally checking out instead of helping make progress.

You can also do a bunch of crack, lose 40 IQ points, become crackhead bob, and be happy with yourself, but I wouldn't recommend that either, you should make the world a better place, not pretend it is a better place than it is and act like you did something helpful.

Its akin to the sneed or morbius meme, the funny aspect of it is how dumb and repetitive it is, and if anyone points that out, they will just double down on it, tangentially making fun of you for even caring about it.
The thing is that it isn’t actually funny anymore, because comedy is objective. If you have a high comedy IQ you understand.
Norm knew this, and he could tap into and understand the objectiveness of it, unlike most people, including his fans. I don’t think he would see the humor in this phenomenon, as it would wear off quickly. Not to mention that his own fans are basically graffiting and vandalizing his legacy by keeping this up.
Like animals who see a wider scope of colors, his fans who comment the same canned replies ad infinitum will never truly get Norm.
