Name a flaw. I’ll admit that the third one is too long. But the first two are perfect.

third one isn't too long it just feels a lot cornier than the first two and is too reliant on CGI.
The only good slop ever made.
I'm not going to legitimize this with a response.
These movies are such good adaptations right because they are so different from the books. You literally CANNOT transpose the books as they are over film, it would be inevitably bad.
t. Read everything Tolkien at least 3 times
You are correct. First read them in 1968.
Anything with galadriel is mad boring and could be cut from the movie and it wouldnt make any difference
Crazy how in the book Galadriel drops the greatest lines in the entire work and the whole Lothlorien chapter is kino, yet the movie part was somewhat sub-par
>for ere the fall of Nargothrond or Gondolin I passed over the mountains, and together through ages of the world we have fought the long defeat.
No Tom Bombadil.
>hobbits finally leave
man oh man do i hate them fancy lads
It’s an improvement
Harry Potter was better.
Isn't Harry Potter for teenage girls, though? Asking as someone who was too old for it even when it came out. I just know a lot of prepubescent girls really, really liked it at the time.
>Isn't Harry Potter for teenage girls, though?
And queers.
... regarding waifus*
Sorry forgot to type all the sentence lads.
boring fantasy shit
Oh yeah I totally battled and killed that balrog... no we won't show it in the movie it just happened ok??
:/
the balrog battle was in the theatrical of two towers you dumbass
Galadriel
Denethor
Faramir
Sam crumbs
There's storytelling, CGI, pacing flaws, but is there any sentiment against the casting being completely flawless?
Viggo was a somewhat bad choice for Aragorn. Orlando Bloom was just horrible.
Actors for Boromir and Faramir looked more like Isildur than Aragorn. They should have cast Sean Bean as Aragorn and had Viggo play Boromir with a similar looking guy for Faramir.
>Orlando Bloom
I'm so glad he got so few lines, because he is awful. During this time he was also awful in Pirates and Kingdom of Heaven.
Terrible actor. Absolutely fricking terrible.
Casting a blonde twink for Faramir was fricking terrible. Especially considering Boromir's casting is so good.
>Faramir
>casting a blond twink
Which movie were you watching?
>Name a flaw.
Action scenes go on for too long
Legolas matrix garbage
Turning Gimli into a joke
Dreamworks tier CGI Gollum
Hokey shit like the sea of skulls
Too much CGI in Return in general
Cutting the Barrow-wights
Cutting the scouring of the Shire
Everything about Faramir
etc etc and so on and on
>I am no man!
The theatrical cuts are severaly lacking.
Planted in normies the idea that the books/series is about le epic violence in brown and grey setting.
I fricking hate Peter Jackson and this americanized piece of trash.
the extended editions
RotK > TT > FotR
Plebes will differ but they don't understand the central theme of Northern Courage.
Not a single non-white character and not enough strong women!
The flaws are in the books. The story doesn't make any sense but the films did well to make something decent out of it
What doesn't make sense to you?
Why didn't they fly the eagles to Mordor
Sauron's hordes of crow familiars would have spotted the eagles and then the Witch-King would have gone after them
Second one has bad pacing, long drawn out scenes, inconsistent acting, cliches, weaker music direction, etc. Fellowship on the other hand is near perfect save a few minor flaws
Some CGI got old.
The extended versions have sometimes weird rythm.
That's all.
LotR were the last kinos ever made.
I love the first film, dislike the second film and like the third film
Last time I tried watching the second film I fell asleep during helm's deep because it was just that dull
Books are far better
They did Faramir dirty. Other than that it was pretty much perfect, especially the first movie
The third one is the one that needs to be the extended one for the series to work
2 discs for the intended intermission
The films fail to capture the growing sense of stakes and spectacle the books do so well. When you start out reading LOTR it's like a children's fairytale because that's just the kind of world the hobbits live in. But as you keep reading the story gets progressively grander and darker, much like the hobbits the reader realizes the world is so much bigger than they realize, it's like losing that naive childlike wonder and becoming an adult. By comparison the movies literally begin with an epic battle against Sauron right away. The bar is immediately set high and you never get that feeling of the world slowly unravelling before your eyes like it does for the hobbits
You could argue 3 feature films is way too little runtime to replicate this feeling, but I still feel it could have been done better. The opening reeks of some executive saying "You need something epic and cool right at the start!"
Gimli didn't need to be that much of a comic relief. It gets old really fast.
Fellowship is the only good movie. A masterpiece of film in my eyes. There's a huge drop in quality after. Too much pointless deviation from the books, too much campy hokey stuff, too much reliance on spectacle over substance. There are some genuinely good parts but they are drowned out by what is mediocre or bad. It almost feels like TT and RotK had a different director.
Im that type of degenerate who would rather watch the Ralph Bakshi version
I don't think they handled the mirror of galadriel scene very well in the movie
Would you have preferred they do the Scouring of the Shire in the third movie though?
the ost is too perfect
>Weathertop scene was ruined
>Frodo's shit characterization
>Merry and Pippin shit characterization. Being comic relief
>Legolas video game scenes
>No Glorfindal because Arwen needed something to do
>First meeting with Strider
That's a start at least
TTT is mediocre. FOTR is as close to 10/10 as anything though.
