As it turns out, he was a complete moron, a b***h ass motherfricker, and a moron, who DEMANDED the tournaments to stay, and of course mods got pissed off at his bullshit.
It's not like the attempts to do an Cinemaphile tournament or the Cinemaphile ones immediately after that screw-up helped, or the fact that other anons from the siteboard that shall not be named tried to help, resulting in hilariously awful results.
Are there IRC logs of this? I was never a huge fan of the tournies really, they were a fun spectacle at first but started to get too popular and brought in all sorts of cross-board and cross-site tourist scum. But people seemed to enjoy making Fang win and other bubblebobble tier shit so have at it.
But its ultra-lame when mods make a ruling based on personal whim like that or a single figure being a douche rather than what the consensus of the board is.
The tourney organizers were making similar arbitrary decisions based on their whims so I don't see how the mods fricking tourneys over is any different.
Last year's ms. co was a total shit show where they didn't let certain characters get on the roster despite them qualifying and then when there was evidence that people were using bots to throw off the votes, they told the threads that there were fraudulent votes and then just let it rock for like 3 rounds until finally at the very end deciding not allow it to once the damage was irrecoverably done.
All they had to do was keep their fricking mouths shut but instead they went and made the call that insured both maximum drama and that nothing they said or did could ever be trusted again.

Yes. As it stands it can look through the catalog for the thread or the archive if not found, and append valid entries until the almo.st timer runs out. Whereas before it only looked at the archive and did so indefinetly. Only feature left to implement is a blacklist of sorts. And compiling but thats more for convinience's sake.
Theres also the other project program to parse, analyze and graph votes(no name or github page yet) which can already correctly parse a vote file by votes per second, minute or hour and graph the data in 3 diferent ways. Sadly lacking in the analysis because of lack of data. Only vote sheet NSA gave was the allegedly rigged one and I did notice via graphing a spike at minute 10 and that it does not abide to Benford's law but I cant be sure if thats normal or not without an unrigged file to verify. Dont think NSA shared his formula to say if something is rigged or not so cant put that into code either.
History shows perceived popularity or lack thereof makes one more or less likely to be cheated for. Captain america and Spinel arent literal whos but both got rigged for.

I personally like bloated qualifiers because outside a few obvious rigged characters they are generally the best indicator of a characters popularity or unpopularity that year or over years
Campaigning or other factors like recency don’t make it perfect and alter results but it avoids spite voting and memes of the proper rounds. And it’s surprisingly accurate, you note the same characters are usually always in the 100s-200s or same characters in the 50s-100s and so on

One big issue with Co-op is that too many "teams" were really just one character trying to pass it off as a dual effort with a dynamic. Even the winning team is somewhat guilty of this and the Faith duo deserved the win more. I hope the next edition is an improvement in that regard.

People said that the round should continue, because the round had already been going for some time, but if they got caught cheating again, then they should be removed before starting the next round.
Shirley got caught cheating again in the semis, but was still let into the finale, even though they knew that.
NSA himself said that Shirley was nr.3, and not Nr.2, meaning that Fang never went up against the finalist. Either Shirley did get second place, or the finale never actually happened.

I was never a huge fan of the tournies really, they were a fun spectacle at first but started to get too popular and brought in all sorts of cross-board and cross-site tourist scum. Last year's ms. co was a total shit show where they didn't let certain characters get on the roster despite them qualifying and then when there was evidence that people were using bots to throw off the votes, they told the threads that there were fraudulent votes and then just let it rock for like 3 rounds until finally at the very end deciding not allow it to once the damage was irrecoverably done.
All they had to do was keep their fricking mouths shut but instead they went and made the call that insured both maximum drama and that nothing they said or did could ever be trusted again.

Yes. As it stands it can look through the catalog for the thread or the archive if not found, and append valid entries until the almo.st timer runs out. Whereas before it only looked at the archive and did so indefinetly. Only feature left to implement is a blacklist of sorts. And compiling but thats more for convinience's sake.
Theres also the other project program to parse, analyze and graph votes(no name or github page yet) which can already correctly parse a vote file by votes per second, minute or hour and graph the data in 3 diferent ways. Sadly lacking in the analysis because of lack of data. Only vote sheet NSA gave was the allegedly rigged one and I did notice via graphing a spike at minute 10 and that it does not abide to Benford's law but I cant be sure if thats normal or not without an unrigged file to verify. Dont think NSA shared his formula to say if something is rigged or not so cant put that into code either.

Nominations is always a disgusting shitshow of desperation, seeing people spam support for characters they've never heard of just to bloat the qualifiers.
I personally like bloated qualifiers because outside a few obvious rigged characters they are generally the best indicator of a characters popularity or unpopularity that year or over years
Campaigning or other factors like recency don’t make it perfect and alter results but it avoids spite voting and memes of the proper rounds. And it’s surprisingly accurate, you note the same characters are usually always in the 100s-200s or same characters in the 50s-100s and so on

Heroes of Cinemaphile just ended a few days ago. At the start of July, I'll be focusing on Villains of Cinemaphile. The Heroes/Villains Cinemaphile tournaments are planned to happen in late July-August. /tnt/ has a noticeably smaller userbase than Cinemaphile or Cinemaphile, so in these side tournaments your campaigning matters more and there's less chance of getting voted out by the silent majority. I get being pissed at the Belmonts but Philemon practically got a free ride too and it shocks me that people are suddenly okay with that. Co-op and their elite was massively overrated, Layton should've won in all honesty.

I can agree that those two teams lacked. Everyone else on the elite contributed one way or another but those two only relied on matchups to survive.
One big issue with Co-op is that too many "teams" were really just one character trying to pass it off as a dual effort with a dynamic. Even the winning team is somewhat guilty of this and the Faith duo deserved the win more. I hope the next edition is an improvement in that regard.

I just recall that Balls stepped up to be the Cinemaphile head since NSA just was trying to stand back and handle the sheets. Him running Cinemaphile was just because nobody else would and Balls stepped up to be the main guy with assistance from NSA.
