The Proposition
Young Einstein
Dot and the Kangaroo
The Loved Ones
Snowtown
felony, wake in fright, the stranger, talk to me, the babadook
boys Idk what a good hourly rate in Aus/Melb is anymore since I was almost neet-ing for a good year or 2 and have landed myself in what seems like a solid casual job paying $45aud an hour.
Also watch Muriel's Wedding OP.
What's the job? Trust fund band?
nah support work.
you using hireup? what are your clients like
>you using hireup? what are your clients like
pretty much every company I've seen is understaffed, ours included.
I had no fricking idea until I got hired anon, it's insane.
literally wiped an ass today, other than that hung out with the kid while he played on his switch for a few hours. Only have had one older client, he was a c**t but an entertaining c**t, got along well with him until his brain started fricking with him again.
Even if it's hanging with spastics, it gets you out of the house on good money at least...unless you miss NEETing.
I don't miss neeting, I was stunted a lot due to issues with friends/family and then covid. It's been a process untangling a lot of that. However that neet experience makes me really good with clients weirdly, and being as online and nerd adjacent as I am also helps. One client just wants to talk about Five Nights at Freddy's so it's just like a Cinemaphile thread, another kid immediately liked me because he was wearing a DBZ shirt and I started talking to him about it.
nah
I'm happy to chill and answer support work questions I guess, I've been reflecting on my life today a bit. I'm also a pornographer cameraman on the side, honest to god
Hi Theo, Remy is camera tho
Is the older blokes name Matt? In SA
Frickin' NDIS...
Is that babysitting morons or wiping old people's arses? (which is acceptable pay for $45/h i suppose).
Wake in Fright (1971)
Animal Kingdom (2010)
The Proposition (2005)
Also, The Stranger (2022)
Any good Ned Kelly kinos?
True History of the Kelly Gang (2019)
Ned Kelly (2003)
>True History of the Kelly Gang (2019)
Ironically named as it was extremely fictionalised. And a shit film too.
The Rover (post apocalyptic road flick)
Malcolm (autismkino)
Bloodlust (hilariously so-bad-it’s-good vampirekino)
Ghosts… of the civil dead (Nick Cave prisonkino)
Dogs in Space (80’s new wave/punk/rock teenkino)
Stay away from anything involving small towns, they’re all made by homosexuals from the city who are terrified of anywhere without public transport and a vibrant multicultural cafe scene.
>Stay away from anything involving small towns
You're not wrong, The Dressmaker was shit.
What was that shitty 2000's aussie movie where some professional AFL player has to play in some Victorian small town league? I think that playschool presenter was in it.
Mr Inbetween
Razorback.
True story: the guy that directed Razorback (Russell Mulcahy?) also did the film clip for the song ‘total eclipse of the heart’ and you can see a lot of stylistic similarities in each.
Hi-5
If you like classic drag queens, then "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert"
Chopper
Blurred
Two Hands
Australia
Crocodile Dundee
The Castle
Tv series: Bay of Fires
This film was not bad, but could've been better. Eric Bana fell a bit short of capturing Chopper's psychotic presence.
Dogs in Space
There is a NZ crime drama series called Outrageous Fortune with like 8 seasons which is absolute kino
It's alright for a Kiwi show but it's basically Schitz Creek but made 10 years earlier.
What happened to BroTown? Do they still make it?
>It's like something that was made 10 years later
Just stop
>le vain but quirky Kiwis face advesrity the show
Now your just coming up with words to say
I didn't mind this though. Early Taika was pretty good.
Oh well
Kiwis frick off
Aw look, Australia’s moronic younger sibling wants some attention as well.
It's better than anything Australia has produced. NZ is more laid back, creative and has cooler more likeable people than Australia. And I'm Australian
>Comes into Auskino thread
>Starts posting shit that’s not Auskino
>Goes full moron when called out
Yeah nah c**t I’m sure you’re as Australian as vegemite and Holden cars.
Holdens aren't even made in Australia any more, c**t
No shit, dingus
Red dog
Charlie and Boots
Ride like a girl
Fuark me, Jessica Mauboy got fat.
The sad but inevitable reality for trust fund band Aboriginals.
Nice Satan trips
Eyy, Baskinbro! Looking mighty fine yourself
Wolf Creek
The Rover
Really good for an Aboriginal themed movie. They're usually about 'muh racism' shit. Might be hard to find though.
Dad's Google History
Nanette
Aunty Donna's Big Ol House of Fun
Storm Boy
Bad Boy Bubby
The Last Wave
Walkabout
Next of Kin
Two hands
Crackerjack
He Died with a felafel in his hand
Death in brunswick
Bad boy bubby
Romper stomper
Rake (TV show)
animal kingdom
Wake in Fright, also drukino.
Good Aussie comedy is virtually non-existent, but this show is pure comedy kino. I've never seen it mentioned here.
It's like a hundred years old. They would have stopped showing rereuns on telly back in the 90's.
Top of the Lake: China Girl
>Men are made out to be sick borderline rapists who are always harassing woman
>Prostitution is legal here, thus groups of programmers are working in the cafe while discussing what makes the hookers at the brothel wet loudly at a table.
>Hookers overseen by a long-haired French commie fraud-intellectual who is trying to pimp out his girlfriend so she can shed her middle class values
>Central mystery about a dead call girl
>Her main client begins incel'ing out without her and plans a mass shooting
Believe it or not, by the end, the show does a sorta 180 and becomes based.
Soul Mates, its a pretty good sketch comedy series with the running theme "two mates with different incarnations throughout human history". Classic light netflix fare, the kind of thing you put on when you're in a group and no one knows what to watch.
