Asterix under Goscinni.
Serious replies only
Classic Astérix is actually one of the biggest names in european comics, if not THE biggest, with Tintin
I wasn't joking.
I liked Transmetropolitan, but for me it doesn't work as a societal critic when the Smiler gets the focus as the world is lready a horrible place there, it's like a reverse early Judge Dredd: the Judges system is indeed horrible, but the dangers of Mega City and the wastelands are much much worse, and the own citizens themselvs are pretty moronic, so it's a bit justified (it's a parody after all).
Just another one of those "look at how much smarter I am than everyone else" pieces of trash from a smug, pompous douchebag.
The official "I'm smarter than everybody else" starter pack.

You just listed a bunch of good comics and a few duds.
I find it odd he’d list Omaha at all since its boring as shit and the only real noteworthy thing about it is being early officially published furry erotica. Literally nobody outside of furries is aware of it or cares about it.
Associated Student Bodies is much more earnest and interesting.
I think out of all of whats available if those were the comics you picked you would probably be smarter than everyone else.
eh
You seem to have just listed every popular comic ever. There's even some cape stuff. Like, Astro City? What's so pretentious about that? It's just a superhero anthology type deal.
It's bait.
>Frankie's comics are very simple basics bad guys vs good guys BS and the "good guys" are fascistic self appointed buttholes.
So is this.
Frank Miller writes "smarter than everybody else" comics? Since when???? and he is included in a list with Love and Rockets and Alan Moore????? ol' Frankie's comics are very simple basics bad guys vs good guys BS and the "good guys" are fascistic self appointed buttholes.
It looks like he took a list of top 20 or whatever comics from some listicle website
Sex.
There are probably 100 comics better than Transmetropolitan, if not more, if you sit down and work it out.
Out of Ellis' own work, Planetary is superior.
What are the other 99 then, chump?
Planetary, it's like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen with less favoritism
I still like League a lot more than Planetary.
IMO the original two volumes of League are better or at least just as good, same basic meta fiction is all real concept but focusing on different centuries and kinds of pop culture
Then the rest happened
It was never basic, but the first two volumes can be read that way. The rest cannot.
Before Affable Al got way too up his own arse
Crossed +100 is the last good Alan Moore comic prove me wrong
So, how long till DC tries to add Spider into the main universe?
Give it a few more years.
That among us comic. It’s pure kino that you shit doesn’t match.
Having already read Hunter Thompson’s works I can easily say theyre leagues better than the watered down comics version.
Not saying you're wrong, but Transmetropolitan is comprised of more than just Hunter S. Thompson in a cyberpunk setting.
