Name the worst batman run

Pro-tip you can't.
Batman never had a bad run in his entire life and even if they are lower quality than usual, it still blows most comics out of the water.

Think of zeb wells with Spider-man and Black cat, but done better with batman and cat woman.

The Flashes are being directly mind-controlled by Poison Ivy.

                And?

                Anonymous

The Flashes are only running and fighting at the speed that Poison Ivy can control them.
This is nowhere near as bad as when Deathstroke used to trip up Wally, or the time when he stabbed him.

                Anonymous

We see them be mind controlled before. They are still faster then light.

                Anonymous

Why would he? They were mind controlled by Ivy and it can be said that they're fighting control by not being as fast. Same thing happened with Superman under Ivy's control in Hush. Even the impact of hitting something that fast could be explained away that it's the speed force protecting Selina. So mind controlled superheroes will make themselves into jobbers.

That is an actual use of the speed force. Flash can lend it to things around him to protect them.

Exactly. I don't have to explain.

                Anonymous

You're saying that Poison Ivy managed to control the Flashes, but not well enough to utilize them effectively in stopping Batman and Catwoman. What about pic related? She seems to be able to direct Flash reasonably well here.
Anyway, she sent the Flashes to take them both out, but the Flashes were secretly resisting so they either ran slow enough for Catwoman, who has no powers, to make her hits connect exactly to knock them all out without shattering her bones or even hurting her, or they were able to transmit speedforce to Catwoman so that they wouldn't turn her bones to dust while she somehow managed to knock them out.
Isn't speedforce depicted with an aura or lightning of some kind? Catwoman has neither when she hits them.

                Anonymous

The speedforce can do a lot of things and is generated from Flash. He's done things like catch people and not break their bones, shield himself whenever he runs or even falls, he can cancel out impact with it. It's also a bullshit power. A writer can easily say that it's speedforce to explain things. Also, Flash is a notorious jobber. Deathstroke has bested speedsters on several occasions.

I do not care for the Starlin run. grounding Batman in 80's modern times with the cold war and reagan was sort of cringey and blatantly trying to run with what DKR did.

A lot of it is over exaggerating. They'll claim something is horrible but it's just mediocre at worst. A couple years ago we had what I would say was the worst Storytime of Pain Weekend and we had the entire run of King's Batman and the entire run of Slott's Amazing Spider-Man done. And several legitimately shitty comics never got posted. And I fricking hate Slott's ASM run.

Tynion's run was terrible. Joker War and Fear State? Clownhunter and Ghostmaker and Miracle Molly? It was bad.
So is the current run by Zdarsky.
Besides that the Judd Winick runs weren't very good. People give the first one a pass because he brought back Jason Todd, but the writing was still on the low end.

Didn't Tynion admit, point blank, that working the Batman book these days is a literal nightmare on par with writing Amazing Spider-Man if not worse?

Something about how the the backlash towards the infamous Nighwing amnesia storyline, plus Tom Taylor being his usual c**t self not playing nice with other writers, DC not knowing who the current Batgirl or Robin is and if Babs is even Batgirl or Oracle right now, has led to DC banning any future Batman writer from doing anything major with the supporting cast to avoid another "Dick=Rick" debacle and that garbage like Clownhunter, Ghostmaker, etc was the compromise where Batman editorial is now allowing writers to create an endless supply of new OCs to effectively fill the void where writers have to create new supporting cast members to both avoid another Dick=Rick situation and to keep Tom Taylor from screeching about how he's being stiffed having other writers tell him he can't break toys like he's used to breaking them.

There are runs within the New 52 Batman/Detective Comics that were absolute dogshit. The one with Gordon's military past was shocking in how weirdly bad it was.

  12. 11 months ago
    Anonymous

Probably some run that nobody remembers during some in-between period in the '80s or 2000s.

All the stuff I can remember has been at least fine. Barr, Moench, Rucka, Morrison, Dixon, Grant, etc all had good stuff. I didn't like Snyder very much, but I can't say the comics were iredeemably awful compared to the average superhero comic.

Maybe Loeb? Hush is lame and overrated.

If we're talking about more than the modern stuff, then his worst run was probably during the Silver Age era when his comic was copying Superman. Not even the charming Silver Age stuff like Zebra Man or Signalman, but the shit like "Batman goes to a random planet to fight inter-dimensional spaghetti aliens."
