I had the same idea to go to the kinoplex opening day with a costume on lol.
Trying to find a costume too.
i unironically look just like this (minus the period attire) but from other peoples reactions you'd think i was unattractive. what does napoleon have that i dont?
The way to get the best costumes is to put the effort in to craft it yourself.
Buying a costume will always look a bit shit and unnatural unless you pay outrageous fees.
Focus on the materials.
Find clothes of the right colour and material and then cut and sew it into the right shape. You can probably do this for less than 50 bucks.
Less than 30 if you use charity shops
>Less than 30 if you use charity shops
I don't know what charity shop you're shopping at that stocks 19th century mens wear, the furthest back the ones in my area go with any degree of consistency is the 90s.
>completely misunderstanding the post
You don't buy period costumes. You buy jumpers, jackets, trousers etc that are made of the right material and are the right colour.
Then you have to trim them and style them yourself. The costume will look far better this way than wasting 70 bucks on a nylon costume that's oversaturated with cheap stitching and no shape.
My deeper point is that most of the stuff you find at a thrift store will be synthetic blends, and it is increasingly unlikely that you will find any clothing of value even as raw material in a thrift store.
>jesus isnt there a cheaper alternative that still looks good?
The only reason modern clothing is as cheap as it is, is because it uses only the simplest of techniques and cheapest mass produced synthetic materials.
If you want 18th century quality then you will have to pay 18th century prices.
>Buy a grey or green trench coat >stack two black baseball caps on top of each but facing different directions >Now get some of those tight white pants latinas wear
I'm mildly looking forward to this movie. Perfect casting really. It's definitely going to be better than Barbenheimer. I'm actually vaguely feeling this one.
If you have to ask, then you can't pull it off, especially not for 500 euros, unless you're content with the hat being the full extent of your cosplay.
Save your money.
It is not worth 1000 euros to buy a costume that you will only wear once to the movies. There are so many more worthwhile things you can spend that money on. Even burning the money for warmth would be less of a waste.
This one here is my main inspiration
I have a budget of about 500€ is this enough to pull this off?

A replica of his hat alone probably cost much

I never spend more than 10 bucks AT WORST on Amazon and I got cool shit like Finland and North Korea draped on my walls
None of your flags a period correct hand embroidery silk though.

This is genuinely what Kubrick explicitly wrote in his script
