Wow that says a lot considering naruto was complete garbage.
Fax, it only got good in the last season because it was basically payoff. It had cool action and worldbuilding but it was kinda kiddy, Naruto had better characters if anything.

Its tough to both balanced being episodic and serialized, so I will always respect the original (only goods series) for that. Even if you take out Naruto's war arc, Avatar still seems more focused than naruto. From the first season to the last, Aang had to beat the fire nation. that was that.

ATLA was a great show because it did every element well. The music, animation, direction, story, characters were all good. That's a rare thing (yes, including anime). I have my gripes with aspects of the story - some of that stems from the fact it was a kid's show, and honestly it was pretty safe/predictable, but damn if the execution wasn't solid.

Aang's moral dilemma at the end was super sloppy, but I don't think it's fair to judge the execution of a 61 episode show just on that element of the finale.

There are flaws with Naruto but the biggest misconception of the series is that Naruto being special ruined him and that it changed the message of hard work vs talent(this was never a thing)

Naruto was a story about people overcoming trauma and breaking the cycle of violence. It's why talk no jutsu became such a meme, because Naruto was constantly trying to convince his opponents to forgive their enemies and move on from their past instead of seeking further revenge that only resulted in others seeking revenge themselves. This is literally stated in the show through the 'cycle of hatred' speech.
You can argue about whether or not it was handled well, but Naruto has never been a story about hard work overcoming natural talent; by the end of it, it's people doing everything they can to acquire more natural talent so they continue the cycle.
And have a terrible sense of romance
It's only in ATLA it's in most western media. The male charcter are always portayed as stupid or weaker and more childish than thr female characters. Western media has something againts men.

They had a chance to do an epic fight between Zuko and Zuko in The Last Agni Kai part 2 but Katcaca had to intervene and ruin it all. Frick I wanted to see that b***h (Azula) get beaten so bad after all the shit she gave Zuko. It was building up to this fight but Katara fricking ruined it. Shit writing. Why??? The writing was exceellent up to that point. What's the point of showing Azula being a b***h the whole show towards Zuko and not watch her get what she deserves by Zuko? Pussy writers. Don't make female villains if you don't want to see them get beaten up you stupid writers. Seeing that b***h Azula getting beaten by Zuko in a battle would have been epic and satyisfying af.

If avatar was like Naruto, then Aang would’ve simply talked Ozai out of being evil. He’d give up his entire motivation in a few minutes because Aang said something that reminded him of his past and we’d get a sob story flashback of Ozai showing how similar he was to Aang
