I think you can reliably take it up until ninja exams, if you do it as TV series.
Ine Piece proved the ridiculous settings can be done if you play it straight.
That first arc where they fight Zabuza and the trap could work as a movie, it's before they add a shit-ton of characters and the plot is relatively simple while being compelling. I'm sure they're going to frick it up somehow though.
seriously who the frick do you cast? The character himself looks like a white guy but everything else in the world is clearly Japanese. Casting an Asian as Naruto will be moronic because the blonde haired blue eyed boy clearly isn’t one
It’s like the dozen of times japan tried to adapt their shonen anime using Japanese actors. Didn’t work for Bleach didn’t work for Full Metal Alchemist and it won’t work for Naruto. The characters just look too white so it ends up looking like cheap cosplay
Like the live action attack on titan, wasn’t it like a major plot point that Mikasa was the last Japanese person in the whole world? And they you have a cast of 20 or so japanese actors lol
Ichigo doesn’t work as a white guy either for me. His name and the fact that almost everything about Bleach is distinctively Japanese. This is why the characters can’t be adapted to live action, they’re too stylized. Ichigo literally has orange hair and it’s a plot point. It would look so stupid la, white or jap
>His name and the fact that almost everything about Bleach is distinctively Japanese.
Bleach is weird because it's pretty clear each of the factions is supposed to represent a different ethnicity (soul reapers for Japan, hueco mundo for Mexico, sternritters for Germany, etc) but the characters in those factions are all a weird mix of various races. The soul reapers have a black guy named Kaname Tosen and a blonde white guy named Shinji Hirako for instance, it's all confused.
Bleach is weird because Kubo had plans only for the first arc and then he just made shit up with no rhyme and reason because it paid bills.
First arc was strong enough to carry the entire IP on its own until
the Heart
where it finally become an absolute meme.
The fricking anime fillers had better character building than the manga.

>Kubo had plans only for the first arc
Nah, even back then he just had an outline and was pulling shit out of his ass. Aizen was originally going to just be the innocent victim that he appeared to be after his "murder" until Kubo realized he needed a villain and decided to make it him, I doubt the dude planned anything in advance.

I brlieve it. Still struck gold with first season, and I'd argue that Bleach used to be pure spirit of shonen in that arc.
Kubo admitted he added Spanish names simply because it sounded mysterious and exotic. This is how most manga artists if we’re being honest, they just like add shit they think is cool
The Uchihas, Hyuugas, and some isolated others are Japs but the majority aren't. Kishi himself said Naruto could be played by an American because Naruto is blond and blue-eyed (lol). In reality they'll have to cast a bunch of fat ugly Asians just like Netflix Avatar because the Twitter crowd would riot otherwise.
Christ, I hope they don’t have Naruto say believe it. That shit was cringe and I hated they changed Dattebayo to that. Just get rid of his verbal tic since there’s no proper translation for it
>3 minute flashback to kyuubi village attack and its sealing in baby nardo >cut to current ninja year >establish nardo as a loser outcast but already part of Team 7 >rest of the film is the escort mission/zabuza fight
It'll suck because it's a live-action adaptation of something that was never intended to be so.
Skipping Zabuza would be stupid and they’re basically begging for it to fail then >only arc where team 7 bonds together >Sasuke sacrifices his body for Naruto establishing their friendship >whole theme of Shinobi being nothing but tools for the village
Won't work. There is so much story to cover and you have about 2hours in a movie. Not to me tuon filming 2 years apart. All the kid actors would age out of it before you got to anything substantial lol.
Say you have 3 movies... What do you cover? You can't skip the chunin exams lol ... So what, first introductory movie covering zabuza. 2nd movie what .. the exams? 3rd is retrieving Sasuke? Where do you fit Itachi and jiriyah?
Lel, they need to film all 3 movies with the kid actors back to back to back to make use of their age.
Then I guess when they actually do age to late teens you can start a Shippuden trilogy? Which would be even harder...
So are the Hyuga now that you mention it. Yet everyone look white. I don't know how you would accurately cast the look of the characters and also be faithful to how the clans operated and looked. They all wear fricking kimonos as casual wear. Uchiha and Hyuga areas of the village literally look like traditional old Japanese style "houses" too
Destin is actually a good director but the anime to live action pipeline is very difficult to pull off, even more so than a comic book movie. This is their 1 shot at making it work.
Who the frick wants this after all those failures? Fans? How the frick can some people still not understand that live-adaptations are, 99% of the time, trash? Especially in today's woke/American culture.
That fact that it is a movie and not a show gives me hope. TV budgets can't do justice to anime.
Movie format is terrible for so something like Naruto. You can’t fit all of part 1 in a single film. Cutting stuff out will just piss fans off
yeah but TV is a non starter
Anime and tv budgets don't mix.
Yeah but at the same time that means no filler no bullshit just get to the fricking point, and that's something naruto seriously needed.
I genuinely think people would be ok with a movie that’s just everything at the beginning up until they beat Haku and Zabuza

No matter who they cast as Naruto it's going to be fricked lol

The hair always looks ridiculous. I know it's a wig but can you try to not make it so obvious?

>didn’t work for Full Metal Alchemist
Because they were obviously not japanese. While naruto is japanese
Kishi said Naruto is a western character and made to appeal to Americans.
should’ve used more western names for the towns and characters
And yet he drew this, where Naruto looks Asian.
>subjective interpretation of an isolated stylized drawing
vs
>words he actually said
Choose.

What is it gonna be about? Zabuza arc, or straight away Chuunin exams?
>3 minute flashback to kyuubi village attack and its sealing in baby nardo

Zabuza arc is KINO everything after is shit.
Zabuza arc is shit anything with copious amounts of 1v1s is kino, mostly post-forest chuunin exams and Rescue Sasuke.
Skipping Zabuza would be stupid and they’re basically begging for it to fail then
>only arc where team 7 bonds together
>Sasuke sacrifices his body for Naruto establishing their friendship
>whole theme of Shinobi being nothing but tools for the village
If she dyed her hair black she would be perfect as Hinata...
>she
>Black personuto getting an adaptation LETS FRICKING GOOOOOO

The Uchihas are distinctively Japanese, it’s probably why Kishimoto favored them and Sasuke so much over Naruto.

Will they keep jokes like sexy jutsu and 1000 years of death or will they go the coward route.
Christina Hedricks as Tsunade
Keanu Reeves as Kakashi
Who the frick wants this after all those failures? Fans? How the frick can some people still not understand that live-adaptations are, 99% of the time, trash? Especially in today's woke/American culture.
No one. It's a cash in by studio execs banking on fans seeing it just because of the name. Anime is going to be the new capeshit
Dragon ball is even more popular than Naruto in America and it completely flopped
Finn Wolfhard as Saduke
Finn would unironically be better as Naruto.
>Live-action child soldiers getting killed by ninja techniques
With a debut trailer featuring LMFAO's hit new single
Naruto, Avatar, Arthur
Whats the fricking difference?
Arthur and Buster should have had a big ninja fight where they beat the shit out of each other.
