I love horror but feel like I've watched it all.
Every once in a while I stumble upon something that slipped past me.
Any obscure recommendations?

how obscure?
Anything, I just want to be entertained.
Will look into, thanks.
I recommending it in the drinking thread too, but night stalker and night strangler if you haven't seen them yet
You ever watch The Shrine? It's not like super obscure but I love fake folk history horror stuff like that.
I have not, I do like Icemans bro tho. Added to the list
kiyoshi kurosawa Loft
>kiyoshi kurosawa Loft
Added to my growing list. Thanks
Gonna need years on those if you don't mind. Seems a few things are named night stalker.
I saw it and liked it pretty well. It pulled off a twist that I normally wouldn't like but enjoyed that the supernatural stuff was really happening.
>The Terrified
Also added to my list.
One more recommendation. This one gets thrown around a lot in horror circles so only relatively obscure, but Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum is one of my personal favorites. It's South Korea's take on the Grave Encounters movies which are pretty fun movies, too, if you haven't seen those.
>come true
I've heard of Grave Encounters. Never watched it. I'll try this one first.
I'm gonna give it a shot. I don't really like dream sequences in any media, but the sleep paralysis stuff makes me want to watch it.
I liked the Mr. vampire movies, so why not this?
I like the Indiana Jones midget in the beginning and all the nudity.
I like witch movies. They need to make more. I'll add this to my list. Thanks.
Thanks for posting the years. My list is growing. I appreciate everyone taking the time to suggest stuff.
>Thanks for posting the years
Np man. I've only ever seen one other Anon actually know about them. No idea why everyone sleeps on them so hard. Hope you enjoy whenever you get around to it!

1972 and 1973. You're in for an absolute treat, two of my favorite movies. Not scary, but kino
Oh! Kolchak! I watched the show and somehow missed there being movies.
Yep! The show followed after because the movies were really good. I need to do a rewatch of the tv series at some point myself
All I remember from the show is really enjoying the vampire episode, might be time for a rewatch.
Pretty hyped on these movies now.
The Empty Man. Great slow burn. It’s more of a thriller though. It takes the clichè ‘teens summon monster that kills them one by one’ and actually makes it good by killing all the teens right at the start and focusing on the private investigator looking into it. Unfortunately, the studio killed this movie and it’s never had a physical release. Should still be on HBO tho.
I really loved that movie because it felt like 3 different movies all at once. I think it definitely peaks in the first 20 or so minutes but the rest of the movie is still a great ride.
Someone recommended me The Terrified recently. It's some Hispanic film about paranormal happenings. Haven't watched it yet myself though.
there was a direct to hulu film called 'come true' recently that I really liked all the way up until the ending
theres a scene where 2 people start dreaming the same dream and it really spooked me out, one of the few accurate portrayals of sleep paralysis
>theres a scene where 2 people start dreaming the same dream and it really spooked me out, one of the few accurate portrayals of sleep paralysis
Oh boy. I get sleep paralysis so this one should be fun.
it takes a while to get going and the dreams get repetitive but once it gets going it's really good, like minute 30 to minute 100 it's a 9/10 horror film that they just didn't know how to end
Also Electric Youth did the soundtrack for this so maybe worth it if you like synths
for me its Kung Fu in the 1977 horror comedy Hausu
Not really a horror but I was impressed by how good the direction was in Blood Bordello
Eyes Of Fire is great. The witch design is really creepy
This one from last year was decent.
I completely forgot about this movie. I was on a Werewolf binge a few mo ths ago and read about it. It's out now too, thanks anon!
>period werewolf gypsy curse that opens on WWI
this sounds like potential kino to me
Watch this kino sir
Will do thank you sir
I will check out when a stranger calls. I might rewatch The Cell too. All is appreciated
these aren't remotely obscure but... most recent horror films i've seen are the cell and when a stranger calls (1979) both were great
HORROR HOTLINE. BIG HEAD MONSTER
Butterfly Kisses. Small town legend goes that if you can stare down a tunnel for an hour without blinking, you'll then see a man who gets closer to you every time you blink. Two kids get the idea to set up a camera and film the tunnel for an hour, hypothesizing that the lens can be treated as an eye.
Found footage and documentary. Definitely one of the best found footage movies. Very creepy at times.
Have you seen You're Next? It's part horror part thriller I guess, but stems mainly from horror and plays with the "main girl toughens up" formula in a cool way.
this was a fun one, very entertaining and cool visual elements
The Canal from 2015 is top 10 scariest all time. Empty Man is kino. And The Den is bloody underrated ff.
is this it?
