None of these characters were good anyway. They just need to make Toph good.

She really wasn't good. Most of her performance was very bad, and her expressions were just downright confusing. Also the writing for her was atrocious, why does she forgive Jet and start defending him to Sokka later? She's supposed to fricking hate his guts for tricking her, but I guess they're making her forgive him now? The young Katara was an infinitely better actress, and actually probably looks more suited to the role today than Kiawentiio did back when this was filmed. It's pretty sad seeing everyone on Twitter and Tiktok admit that young Katara was a better actress despite being like 3-4 years younger, but it's true.

They've got one more chance to make her the passionate and assertive mother of the group that we knew from the cartoon, using her journey in season 1 as justification for a personality shift. If they frick it up and keep her a bland potato, and then ruin Toph too, then it's ogre for this show and it'll lose the rest of its viewers.

>I don't know who did fight choreography but it looks pretty bad with little focus on the actual martial arts basis.
Yeah most of the bending isn't like the cartoon, it's like looking at the cartoon's martial arts forms through a foggy pane of glass. There are some familiar movements here and there, but mostly the bending feels like a form of magic and not an extension of physical energy within the body. That being said, I really liked most of the non-bender fights. They seemed pretty well done to me.
I'm only halfway through it but she's easily the one of the best parts of it. The Aang actor is pretty terrible, the Sokka actor is great, and Katara is so-so. Some of the dialogue is just plain bad and awkward. The first line in the entire show is delivered by an extra that is trying too hard.
It's a weird mix of really good things and really bad things, so you end up with mixed feelings about the show.
>The first line in the entire show is delivered by an extra that is trying too hard.
The cartoon was the definition of dramatic awkwardness and that is what made it amazing. It was children from different cultures with different life experiences throw into an ensemble and forced to work it out in life or death stakes. It was such a hit with kids and young adults because they wrote those characters so well and everyone could find at least one awkward little kid they could relate to.
I forced myself to watch the netflix show and all I have to say is get better actors. I mean holy heck netflix you have the money and you have the scouts. It feels like a high budgeted high school play that has great costumes but at the end of the day it's just random kids trying to act. I'm actually really curious to how many takes some scenes took if they settled on what they settled on.
>and all I have to say is get better actors.
this is a consequence of diversity mandates, all the actors have to be asian or it's racist. the guy who played Sokka had to lie about being part eskimo or something just to get the part. it's why you have so many landwhales in the cast, they get the part for being asian.
that was always going to happen because streamers lie about their numbers and there's a ton of financial/social capital riding on this show. Netflix can brag about how they have the biggest all Asixn show ever.
The camerawork is pretty sloppy and every clip I've watched of the goyflix show looks like they're using some kind of "gritty" game of thrones filter which really throws off the fun vibe one would expect from watching the animated show.
>the goyflix show looks like they're using some kind of "gritty" game of thrones filter which really throws off the fun vibe one would expect from watching the animated show.
Yeah the writers/producers/directors of the show admitted that they thought the cartoon was "too childish" and in order to remove the "childish" aspects and make it more adult they took out a lot of the fun stuff Aang did along the journey. They baited fans of the cartoon into thinking they were going to do a faithful adaptation by making it visually look similar to the cartoon but then rug pulled them all at the last second with the shitty rewriting.
I don't understand why """adapters""" always feel the need to subvert like this. It's like making a Mickey Mouse movie where he's a grizzled, cigar-smoking detective with a five'o'clock shadow solving brutal murder cases. Co-opting existing popular media and trying to piggy back off its name to create a product of some other genre entirely because you want to be a "serious" writer or director or whatever should be punishable by instant public euthanasia.
it's part of this shit post-postmodern post-ironic hellscape we're in. being sincere is seen as bad, giving audiences what they want is bad. they don't want to be seen as shills creating a product but don't understand why art is provocative (which is why you get a lot of stuff where writers will vomit their twitter feed into a screenplay or soapbox about some gay political shit no one cares about.)
I don't even get the point of introducing them to the audience so early
half of creating stuff is creating the thing and the other half is figuring out ways to farm clicks and engagement on social media
It’s funny how they think they’re being more “adult” with the live action but it’s even more filtered than the cartoon. Netflix even has it rated as TV-PG, unbeknownst to them I’m sure. They’re simply untalented morons.
Moral busybody censors will lose their shit if live-action (adults pretending to be) children do anything lewd or suggestive, whereas a cartoon can get away with a lot more inuendo and implications. >Netflix even has it rated as TV-PG
That says more about how dumb ratings are than it does about the show. How many people scream in agony as they're burned to death just off-screen in the show?

It's to try to market the show to a wider audience. The original show IS a kid's cartoon. It's a good one, and older folks can watch it, but it's aimed at and intended primarily for children. Online discussion acts like the show is some ageless masterpiece, but it's not that big outside the demographic cohort of people that grew up with it. For a ton of the country, their first thought will be the blue alien movies and their second thought will be the terrible movie. Making some changes to try to make it a more engaging story for a wider age-range makes sense.
If you need to completely change the show from its original aesthetic and intent to "market it to a wider "more adult" audience" perhaps you shouldn't be trying to adapt it at all. Disrespecting the original show and its fans like this, and what made the show great in the fist pace, is exactly what should be punished. Just make your own original fricking show that has the gritty "adult" drama garbage you want and stop trying to subvert other peoples' things.

>Disrespecting the original show
It's still there, snowflake. Just because there's a different version now too it doesn't prevent you from watching the original. You cretins are even worse than the parasites who just race-swap existing characters and claiming it as progress.
>two awkward teenagers that have been largely sheltered from potential romantic interests run into each other >act like awkward horny teenagers trying and failing to flirt >everyone acts like this is terrible acting
Why are so many viewers so fricking stupid? Why is such a large contingent of the population just too god damn dumb to realize that awkward young people acting awkward is good acting?
>Why are so many viewers so fricking stupid? Why is such a large contingent of the population just too god damn dumb to realize that awkward young people acting awkward is good acting?
Cinemaphile posters especially aren't the most intelligent people. They just want to be angry at something, and that's what they choose to be angry about. It's like when the original cartoon aired and people hated Katara, because the average viewer of the cartoon was a 10-14 year old boy, so any time Katara did something or said something that wasn't totally supportive of the main self-insert boy character they got mad at her. Anons, out of all people, aren't able to recognize what it looks like when a girl tries to flirt with them, so they see that webm and think she's actually trying to fight him and they critique her fighting skills.
>toned warrior woman uses her superior skill to pin a guy in submissive positions and rub against him >2/10 terrible fighter, I could take her
As she gets more power-hungry, she'll get hungrier for food as well. At her current trajectory, she'll be 300 lbs for book 2 and 400 lbs for book 4.
Do it. Make her more of a political schemer with a vicious streak. Let Zuko be the more traditional warrior-prince.
Because they're not awkward teenagers. they're 20-something actors, acting poorly at being awkward teenagers. Why is so autistic that xir can't even tell the difference?
Sokka wasn't even 20 yet when they finished filming, and Suki's and Sokka's acting is fine.

https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/avatar-the-last-airbender-netflix-cast-announcement
they actually have the remake's character ages in this
Sokka = 16 now, Katara still 14
Sokka is a young 15 in the cartoon. The actor is like 18-19 when they filmed S1.
Example of each?
It's not a cartoon but it's what I watched last night, but Godzilla (2014) does a pretty good job of hitting a lot of Godzilla highlights while also fitting them into a modern, Hollywood CGI disaster/action movie. It has its flaws, but at its heart you can clearly see the connection from it stretching back to the older Godzilla movies.
For a more rigid adapation, I think the Ender's Game movie tried too hard to fit the events of a book spanning years into a couple hours. To be fair, the movie obviously changed a lot, but I think they needed to be even more aggressive about picking a single short span of time and focusing on that. Probably start with Ender on Eros and go from there, using dialogue and maybe some flashbacks to flesh stuff out. Rather than do a movie showing "all" of Ender's Gamer, do a more focused exploration of Ender's final breakdown and the people around him during it. That or just cast Christian Bale as Graff and make him the viewpoint character.
Because they're not awkward teenagers. they're 20-something actors, acting poorly at being awkward teenagers. Why is so autistic that xir can't even tell the difference?
Azula being a bit pudgy makes perfect sense. She's the heir apparent of a brutal dynastic regime that has lasted a hundred years. She's Kim Jung Un, if Kim was a crazy teenage girl that could shoot fire. Her only possible rival for the throne has been exiled in disgrace.
Now, a fat Zuko would be strange. You gotta figure if Iroh wasn't around, Zuko would probably starve himself aside from gnawing on hardtack while brooding on his ship.
No one said that, you disingenuous moron.
Also, you're a brainless cumbrain who isn't actually capable of forming his own opinions and is just jacking off to female actors. You're the most pathetic and embarrassing moron on this site.
Diana Tsoy is begging for the role on her Instagram. Kind of cringe to see her so blatantly ask for the role after doing that CGI concept video, but she might actually do a good job if they get her... as long as the writers are fricking fired and replaced by people who know what they're doing, that is.
>She's too tan-skinned to play Toph tbh.
That's how lighting works. You can look pink, blue, or yellow based on the type of lighting reflecting against your skin. She does need some thicker eyebrows though. Otherwise she'd be perfect.

If Toph isn't short and doesn't have blue eyes I am going to protest on their front doorsteps unironically.
Frick this attention-whoring moron, there are enough nepo babies on the set already, I don't need another one
i like how they immediately gave it 3 seasons so that it would continue the trend of netflix shows not lasting past 3 seasons
don't be surprised if one piece gets the same treatment
What a flop of a show. I don’t know a single person that finished it. This board doesn’t even bother making hate threads for it which is how you know it’s bad.
Me and my wife are big fan of orginal. I didnt bither with this shit after that shadman abomination and legend of whora. My wife tried netflix one 2 days ago, she turned off after 15min and asked me if I wanna play Heroes3 or Talisman.
After all the endless Cinemaphile b***hing (or shilling, either or), I finally watched this.
It was alright. The acting was dogshit and it was too held back. They weren't confident enough in showing people dying or combat.
But otherwise I liked it
It also got renewed but even if they did a saga a season it would take 12 years. The only way to do it would go for an abridged version or Oda's original idea where he goes against the Emperor's almost immediately
>However, due to a unique clause in his movie contracts, you’ll find it quite rare for him to lose a fight in his films. >In the Fast & Furious franchise, which spans nine films, fight scenes are a common occurrence. Yet, none of the main stars, including Johnson, ever end up on the losing side. This is because of a contractual stipulation they sign for these movies. The practice began with Vin Diesel, another franchise star, who assigned a numerical value to each blow he received on screen. Diesel’s younger sister acted as a producer, meticulously counting the punches he took during fight scenes to ensure compliance with the contract. >So, whether he’s playing Luke Hobbs in “Fast Five” or taking on other roles, Dwayne Johnson maintains his reputation as an unbeatable force on screen.
Images are stupid holy shit.
the first like three movies are, then vin diesel took it over as his vanity project and now the movies are about how he's a super cool secret agent with his la familia.

How do you frick this up?
Like the bar was set so incredibly low by that live action movie from years ago.
Sure, I also can't understand why Artemis Fowl or Eragon were raped by their screenwriters, but they didn't have a horrible previous movie attempt to back them up.
This is like a reverse "Ghostbusters" or "Star Wars" situation. No big shoes to fill, no huge expectations. No fans of the last attempt to appease.
They didn't frick it up. It does dramatic events better than the cartoon with worse acting. They're literally just as good as one another with trade-offs.
i'm assuming that's why the creators of the original show left the production of the show so early on, netflix writers were fricking up the characters left and right to fit some homosexual screenwriting formula so they walked

I'm actually really curious to how many takes some scenes took if they settled on what they settled on.
He was a good physical image of Aang, but the acting was poor. Now in the next seasons he won't even be a good physical representation of Aang because he's aged several years and his voice is way too deep.
They could film all the child actor parts for the next two seasons immediately and take their time with the rest just to beat the age gap issue. That's not a problem.
How were the numbers in SEA? They did a lot of promo there because Aangs actor was from there or something. I have a feeling they're the only ones watching this tbh.
The funny thing about the guy with the rock is they probably had something way larger planned but due to time and budget constraints they settled on a wee rock in post lmao
Netflix is fricked because the moment they tell her to lose weight or even to just at least dont put on even more she can just go cry on social media about how she was mistreated
I tried to watch this but it was heinously garbage. It doesn't add anything interesting to the original show. The cast is garbage and the fight are so ultimately cringe. The humour is gone. It's just globohomosexual defilement of another beloved series.
If Aang'd already started water-bending it'd probably be okay, but they're going to get fricked on time unless they speed up or do longer seasons. This season had near the same run-time as the cartoon first season, but it cut a fair amount and Aang hasn't even tried to water-bend yet. Hell, even if he'd already mostly mastered water-bending, fittingthe rest of the show in two seasons would be rough due to Zuko/Azula getting more involved arcs and the addition of another main cast member in Toph.
I find it funny how all the other Kyoshi warriors are ugly Easter Island head looking xenomorphs but their leader is the one and only 10/10 giga stacy of the group.
How come they introduced the Cave of Two Lovers so early? How come they butchered how they escaped with the gem lights in the dark? WHY WAS IT KATARA AND SOKKA, TWO SIBLINGS, GOING IN? Not gonna even ask why they made Shu a woman when it's exclusively a boy's name because Netflix is fricking moronic and only cares about offscreen half-baked "his husband" off-comments just like they added to Netflix ASOUE.
Honestly in retrospect what I was looking for from live action avatar was probably a somewhat radical reinterpretation of the cartoon. It sounds taboo (because bookgays and comicgays always complain about their live action adaptations) yet I wanted a way to utterly re-experience this world as an adult. Dune part 2 truly is an awe-some spectacle and probably encapsulates what live action avatar should’ve been like.
Adaptations that stray from the source material get shit on due to wholly unrelated scripts getting awkwardly billed as adaptations, but a good adaptation HAS to change things to suit the changing mediums.
Liberal adaptation from somebody who understands and likes the original > Rigid adaptation that changes as little as possible > A collection of poorly written social justice tropes wearing the original's skin like Buffalo Bill
Unless the gap between Season 1 and 3 is a long one, I don’t think Aang and Katara are going to end up with each other because of the outrage from people
their age gap is actually less than Yue-Sokka and Katara-Jet
if they film it a couple of months from now they will by 15/18 which isn't terrible but not ideal
i’ve been saying this. They don’t care about review metrics or what youtube/twitter reviewers say. 25 million people watched it, that is the only metric they care about. Stop hate watching.
Well they better care about reviews, because the only reason so many people watched this was because the original fan base thought they were going to make a faithful and good adaptation. Instead they fricked up so many characters and filled it with shit writing and crappy camera work. They need to address those problems or no one will tune in for all of season 2, let alone season 3.
>No one will tune in to the best parts of the show
Lol, they’re going to see book 2 at least. People everywhere are willing to give the writers a 2nd chance since Book 1 wasn’t really that good anyway and hope that Season 2 will be better.
They could have renewed for a hundred seasons. That doesn't mean they're 100% locked in for all those seasons. Netflix can drop their funding whenever they desire. If season 2 performs poorly, then say goodbye to season 3.

It'd be cheaper to just do all the filming for S2 and 3 at once, and they're dealing with child actors which would also favor one long period of shooting for both seasons. I'd imagine it is highly likely that large portions of S3 will be shot before S2 airs.

This isn't Lord of the Rings, the time of filming multiple projects in one go is done for. Netflix already has a track record of just filming several years apart and telling the audience to suspend disbelief in thinking the adult actors are still kids--like with Stranger Things, and also with HBO and Euphoria.

This already has the entire story mapped out. Sure, they cut some stuff and alter dialogue here or there, but they know pretty much what scenes they'll need to shoot and in what locales.
Stranger Thing and Euphoria were/are being written season to season, changing things as reaction to the show dictates. Game of Thrones is kind of an interesting case, as they knew a lot of the broad strokes of where the story would go where and when before they began, but the need to cut so much content to fit the books onto the silver screen meant they really couldn't know which scenes would be needed and which would be omitted, which then cascades into what other characters could be present at other scenes, etc.

Not a good sign, if you ask me. If they're continuing with the same shitty writers and whatever horrible slop they cooked up several years ago, then this show is already dead.

>doesn't even earth bend, can't hear anything through the earth over the sound of her ass cheeks clapping together >just shouts "booty quake" and twerks, knocking everybody down with the seismic shocks
Undeniably based.
they didn’t do any of that in the first season. Netflix really needs this series to succeed, I doubt they want to be at the center of yet another culture war. TLA is perfect for them because you can cast asian and native people for the ESG points, and fans are fine with it because its show accurate, and the chud grifters can’t say shit.
They know they have everyone after the first season was successful. Once they know they can capitalize on a successful franchise they'll run it into the ground regardless and sell execs their first 2 episode numbers. "Avatar Season 2 most watched series on Netflix" you know they're biting for representation in this show
My gf is watching it now and it seems okay for what it is. That said, I thought the cartoon was gay back in the day until the first live action movie came out which I thought was alright. After that I at least respected that the show is worthy of it's fans.
It's weird to be on this side of a situation where hollywood is taking something nerds love and making it palatable to non fans.
That Suki actress is pretty but she just looks like typical upper middle class Thai, Malay or Filipino woman you see everyday and they're not even hapas
netflix has like 280 million subscribers. even if every one of those was on their minimum ad-israelited $7 tier that's $2 billion per month in revenue.
Most of us were Toph's age when we first watched the show, and we had a crush on her more than Katara or Azula. Seeing her be portrayed poorly in live action would be like seeing a CGI recreation of your dearly departed wife except she looks off and has no similarities in personality.
couldn't even make it 15 minutes into that trash
please stop raping everything from my childhood :'(
the live action only makes the appreciation for the original stronger, stop whining.

>and all I have to say is get better actors.
this is a consequence of diversity mandates, all the actors have to be asian or it's racist. the guy who played Sokka had to lie about being part eskimo or something just to get the part. it's why you have so many landwhales in the cast, they get the part for being asian.
this is just bad. thanks for making these webms to stop people from watching this slop
Wouldn't matter anyway since it's already been renewed for a season 2 and season 3. I'll make webms then too.
that was always going to happen because streamers lie about their numbers and there's a ton of financial/social capital riding on this show.
Co-opting existing popular media and trying to piggy back off its name to create a product of some other genre entirely because you want to be a "serious" writer or director or whatever should be punishable by instant public euthanasia.
it's part of this shit post-postmodern post-ironic hellscape we're in. being sincere is seen as bad, giving audiences what they want is bad. they don't want to be seen as shills creating a product but don't understand why art is provocative (which is why you get a lot of stuff where writers will vomit their twitter feed into a screenplay or soapbox about some gay political shit no one cares about.)
half of creating stuff is creating the thing and the other half is figuring out ways to farm clicks and engagement on social media
I found that very refreshing about way of water, the sincerity.
>wine almost hit his arm then changes direction
Kino
You cretins are even worse than the parasites who just race-swap existing characters and claiming it as progress.
gas yourself, golem.
>two awkward teenagers that have been largely sheltered from potential romantic interests run into each other
>act like awkward horny teenagers trying and failing to flirt
>everyone acts like this is terrible acting
Anons, out of all people, aren't able to recognize what it looks like when a girl tries to flirt with them, so they see that webm and think she's actually trying to fight him and they critique her fighting skills.
>toned warrior woman uses her superior skill to pin a guy in submissive positions and rub against him
>2/10 terrible fighter, I could take her
Do it. Make her more of a political schemer with a vicious streak. Let Zuko be the more traditional warrior-prince.
Sokka wasn't even 20 yet when they finished filming, and Suki's and Sokka's acting is fine.
>Sokka wasn't even 20
how old are Sokka and Katara in the animated series?
15 and 14, respectively
there's a big difference between a 14 and a 19 yo boy/man
https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/avatar-the-last-airbender-netflix-cast-announcement
they actually have the remake's character ages in this
Sokka = 16 now, Katara still 14
Sokka is a young 15 in the cartoon. The actor is like 18-19 when they filmed S1.
For the skin-suit, the Halo TV show.
Because they're not awkward teenagers. they're 20-something actors, acting poorly at being awkward teenagers. Why is so autistic that xir can't even tell the difference?
was it autism?
Definitely
What ships do you think we'll see in books 2 and 3?
Azuko chads... we're coming home.
Azukka*
>Azukka*
>comicuck headcanon
The best part of Azula's extra pudge is that this is closer to being canon now
Azula being a bit pudgy makes perfect sense.
As she gets more power-hungry, she'll get hungrier for food as well. At her current trajectory, she'll be 300 lbs for book 2 and 400 lbs for book 4.
But Cinemaphile said the show flopped...
No one said that, you disingenuous moron.
Also, you're a brainless cumbrain who isn't actually capable of forming his own opinions and is just jacking off to female actors. You're the most pathetic and embarrassing moron on this site.
Cope.
I wanna cook inside Iman Vellani
>the show flopped
It did, but Netflix execs are fluffing the numbers.
Will Toph be indian?
Diana Tsoy is begging for the role on her Instagram. Kind of cringe to see her so blatantly ask for the role after doing that CGI concept video, but she might actually do a good job if they get her... as long as the writers are fricking fired and replaced by people who know what they're doing, that is.
Why do you briandead morons have hope for this cancer when you've already seen how bad the first season was, kek
It wasn't that bad at all.
>Diana Tsoy
She's too tan-skinned to play Toph tbh.
>She's too tan-skinned to play Toph tbh.
That's how lighting works. You can look pink, blue, or yellow based on the type of lighting reflecting against your skin. She does need some thicker eyebrows though. Otherwise she'd be perfect.
She'll be lesbian.
she has to be played by an actxr of blind or it's disabilist
How will she do the stunts if she's blind, moron?
doesn't matter. the show's quality does in no way have priority over the aganda
If Toph isn't short and doesn't have blue eyes I am going to protest on their front doorsteps unironically.
Frick this attention-whoring moron, there are enough nepo babies on the set already, I don't need another one
>have blue eyes
Toph has white blind eyes, and would have green eyes naturally, being from the Earth Kingdom.
>hurdurr ackchually they are slightly green anon!
The point is don't cast another moron with dark black asian eyes
>the was point was
That you got the eye color of a central character wrong because you're a secondary?
Speak English
This is Netflix we are talking about. Didn't stop them from casting the rectangle as Mai
>blue eyes
Her eyes were foggy mint green, not blue.
i like how they immediately gave it 3 seasons so that it would continue the trend of netflix shows not lasting past 3 seasons
don't be surprised if one piece gets the same treatment
The og was 3 seasons moron. It was obvious they were going to finish it
i like how you think i give a frick, avatar is some of the most overrated toonslop of the 00s
>avatar
>slop
You've been devoured by Cinemaphile contrarianism. Get a real personality.
>asian Star Wars
>half of the episodes are filler
>shipping wars
>feminism
>REVENGE BAD
Ah so you haven't watched the show at all.
>star wars
>not already asian
he doesn't know?
NEED Natasha in Avatar Season 2 somewhere. Maybe Zuko's new and improved gf since Mai is a land whale.
she also cute
she looks like asian Sersh here.
TOPHBROS IT'S OGRE
What a flop of a show. I don’t know a single person that finished it. This board doesn’t even bother making hate threads for it which is how you know it’s bad.
Me and my wife are big fan of orginal. I didnt bither with this shit after that shadman abomination and legend of whora. My wife tried netflix one 2 days ago, she turned off after 15min and asked me if I wanna play Heroes3 or Talisman.
>My wife
left or right hand?
Since you gonna die alone, pls shoot synagogue or FED building for once. Do your part.
Is it bubblegum pink or brisket beef?
14y of fricking, looks ok, not great not terrible.
Together since high school.
Oh right I forgot U only shoot schools & churches with whites.
brave of you to man up and take care of a teenage single mother like that.
>ankle tattoo
i hope your wife's son is doing well.
After all the endless Cinemaphile b***hing (or shilling, either or), I finally watched this.
It was alright. The acting was dogshit and it was too held back. They weren't confident enough in showing people dying or combat.
But otherwise I liked it
makes sense if they film season 2 and 3 simultaneously so the child actors don't age too much
They avoided the Shyamalan cut off
I wonder how far they'll get with One Piece.
It also got renewed but even if they did a saga a season it would take 12 years. The only way to do it would go for an abridged version or Oda's original idea where he goes against the Emperor's almost immediately
Toph is impossible to cast
Deserved. It does danger and drama better than the cartoon. Cartoonkiddies lost.
WILL IT HAPPEN?
Litty bros?
the rock refuses to lose on screen, so no.
Maybe get Dave Bautista doing his best Macho Man Randy Savage impression while being named The Boulder. Three wrestlers in one.
>In the Fast & Furious franchise, which spans nine films, fight scenes are a common occurrence
I thought they were about illegal car races?
the first like three movies are, then vin diesel took it over as his vanity project and now the movies are about how he's a super cool secret agent with his la familia.
You still don't get it, they don't follow quality, they follow reactions online, the more reactions that follows people watching it, the more they gonna keep doing it.
What is this mark on Azula's actress' arm?
A birthmark
Why is it a perfect square though
A nicotine patch
Gaten hickey
It was shit. Azula is ugly as hell. Why is her face SO round?
>he doesn't like slampigs
Coming this summer

*Florence Pugh and Elizabeth Yu come waddling out from behind Pierce*

In theaters everywhere coming the hottest day this July
APOLOGIZE
Why? That film was absolutely atrocious.
it had dicky
netflix show is just as bad and has no dicky
Where?
im sorry m knight shalamaladong
i shouldve never doubted you
How do you frick this up?
Like the bar was set so incredibly low by that live action movie from years ago.
Sure, I also can't understand why Artemis Fowl or Eragon were raped by their screenwriters, but they didn't have a horrible previous movie attempt to back them up.
This is like a reverse "Ghostbusters" or "Star Wars" situation. No big shoes to fill, no huge expectations. No fans of the last attempt to appease.
They didn't frick it up. It does dramatic events better than the cartoon with worse acting. They're literally just as good as one another with trade-offs.
Going by the interviews before release they fundamentally misinterpreted the show on so many levels
i'm assuming that's why the creators of the original show left the production of the show so early on, netflix writers were fricking up the characters left and right to fit some homosexual screenwriting formula so they walked
>screaming goose intensifies
Why did they make it so past avatars can posses Aang? it's so stupid and it breaks the setting.
well kyoshi did do it in the original trial episode of the cartoon
sunk cost fallacy.
He was a good physical image of Aang, but the acting was poor. Now in the next seasons he won't even be a good physical representation of Aang because he's aged several years and his voice is way too deep.
I realize he is supposed to be mimicking the air ball thing Aang does but it really looks like he is saying Gyatso has a massive dong.
They could film all the child actor parts for the next two seasons immediately and take their time with the rest just to beat the age gap issue. That's not a problem.
Now let's see her put it on.
Imagine one for Azula but it's a timelapse of her binge eating and gaining 80 lbs over three years
Always funny how odd people look once you cover up their eyebrows. A little bit of hair is so vital there.
It’s why I pity women that need to draw their eyebrows. They look nasty if it’s very thin or non-existent
You're a grown man who lives with his mom. You're even more pitiful than them.
>Butthurt about my comment
Gomen about your eyebrows anon…
real life water tribers (Inuit) have very little eyebrow hairs, it looks kinda cool
cute
pathetic semgay shill
Are you moronic?
How were the numbers in SEA? They did a lot of promo there because Aangs actor was from there or something. I have a feeling they're the only ones watching this tbh.
>One Piece: actually good
>Avatar: really good
Wtf NetFlix?
I’ll take the movie bending over this. Sure it was slow but there were actual martial arts tied to it. Here every single move is just punching.
>I’ll take the movie bending over this. Sure it was slow but there were actual martial arts tied to it.
The funny thing about the guy with the rock is they probably had something way larger planned but due to time and budget constraints they settled on a wee rock in post lmao
There really wasn't.
She should've been nude
Imagine having a threesome with Maria Zhang and Emily Rudd. Frick.
>Get pregnant! Get pregnant! Get pregnant! Get pregnant! Get pregnant!
this show is dogshit and if you like it that means you like dogshit.
Thank you! There are zero redeeming qualities. I have never in my life given something a 0/10 unironically but this is it.
trying way too hard
There’s only one man that can save Avatar
>dude slo mo, orange and brown digital color grading and tryhard edginess lmao
Netflix is fricked because the moment they tell her to lose weight or even to just at least dont put on even more she can just go cry on social media about how she was mistreated
People are just coping by saying “she’s supposed to be 14! It’s normal for them to have baby fat!”. I don’t think she’ll slim down at all
Movie
Show
Aang's actor sucks and his eyebrows are way too bushy. Why won't they trim them to look like the show
I tried to watch this but it was heinously garbage. It doesn't add anything interesting to the original show. The cast is garbage and the fight are so ultimately cringe. The humour is gone. It's just globohomosexual defilement of another beloved series.
Where’s the great dragon spirit that guides Aang? This isn’t like the movie at all, were we deceived?
let her loose netflix, let her go after the Gaang finally
so funny how they had mai and ty lee just stand there so azula could talk at them.
I don't even get the point of introducing them to the audience so early
If Aang'd already started water-bending it'd probably be okay, but they're going to get fricked on time unless they speed up or do longer seasons. This season had near the same run-time as the cartoon first season, but it cut a fair amount and Aang hasn't even tried to water-bend yet. Hell, even if he'd already mostly mastered water-bending, fittingthe rest of the show in two seasons would be rough due to Zuko/Azula getting more involved arcs and the addition of another main cast member in Toph.
it was as successful as One Piss
I bet you're proud for supporting that shitty slop and paving the way for more even more netflix slop based of animu
Yeah. I liked One Piece
I find it funny how all the other Kyoshi warriors are ugly Easter Island head looking xenomorphs but their leader is the one and only 10/10 giga stacy of the group.
That make-up is doing them zero favors. Most of them would perfectly cute if they didn't have crazy garish clown paint exaggerating their expressions.
thighs
Example of each?
SOCIETY OWES ME A HAPA GF HAAAAAAAAA
Just go out and get one. They're free.
they only exist in parts of california and nobody with an IQ over 90 want to move TO that third world shit hole.
I have 458 hapas.
Unless the gap between Season 1 and 3 is a long one, I don’t think Aang and Katara are going to end up with each other because of the outrage from people
yeah Aang is 112 years old
Got that 112 year old hairline too
>2020 was 4 years ago
their age gap is actually less than Yue-Sokka and Katara-Jet
if they film it a couple of months from now they will by 15/18 which isn't terrible but not ideal
sticc Kyoshi
>sticc Kyoshi
Asian women cannot into strength training
sniff
i’ve been saying this.
That chance will last a single episode, after that it's pass or fail for Netflix.
netflix users dont have a very high standard anon. they will eat that goyslop and thank them
The reviews of the series would suggest otherwise.
It doesn't really matter when they already renewed for Season 2 and 3.
They could have renewed for a hundred seasons. That doesn't mean they're 100% locked in for all those seasons. Netflix can drop their funding whenever they desire. If season 2 performs poorly, then say goodbye to season 3.
By the time Season 2 premieres, Season 3 will already be well into production.
>well into production
I doubt it, but that hasn't stopped Netflix from canceling shows before.
>This already has the entire story mapped out. Sure, they cut some stuff and alter dialogue here or there, but they know pretty much what scenes they'll need to shoot and in what locales.
Not a good sign, if you ask me. If they're continuing with the same shitty writers and whatever horrible slop they cooked up several years ago, then this show is already dead.
People will want to see Toph
>the Netflix writers change Toph into a 20 year old 200 pound shortstack with 75F boobs and a BBL
Uhhhh based?
>doesn't even earth bend, can't hear anything through the earth over the sound of her ass cheeks clapping together
>just shouts "booty quake" and twerks, knocking everybody down with the seismic shocks
Undeniably based.
post more shmalayan cunnty
There was none.
sticcKyoshi is lore accurate to the novels
>Gay girlboss that destroys everything in the comics
No wonder she got more of the spotlight than Roku
>another lesbian avatar
How original.
>who also had liked men
Daring today, aren't we?
Raava likes women, doesn't matter what body its in
Kinda wished they didn’t reveal her face without makeup yet. Sokka not recognizing her without it in book 2 was funny
How much you wanna bet they make Toph adopted and much uhh tanner than usual?
No chance. People would instantly call out the erasure of asian characters.
They'll make some PR bullshit excuse and continue cause it's Netflix
they didn’t do any of that in the first season.
"Avatar Season 2 most watched series on Netflix" you know they're biting for representation in this show
They won't though.
asians are honorary whites, it's only "erasure" when you cast a white person. when you cast some brownoid it's "inclusive"
she'll be a very dark SEA monkey. or maybe even a jeet since europs call then "asians" as well.
If they end up doing Korra, they NEED to cast a brown musclefu but i know it will a fat ugly mulatto.
>I'M THE AVATAR, YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH IT!
That version would be fricking women left and right.
Good. Make it total coombait under the guise of empowerment
YES
this woman is like 40 years old today and probably has adult children.
>leave the Netflix live action to me
>brown musclefu
Netflix is too gay to go through with casting an athletic woman.
Why wouldn’t they? Doesn’t it fit the narrative to have a strong, brown woman on that show putting all white men in their place?
i hope she finds what she's looking for in there.
who is that on the right?
(You)
That Suki actress is pretty but she just looks like typical upper middle class Thai, Malay or Filipino woman you see everyday and they're not even hapas
My fellow Indonesian-Chinese neighbor looks like her too.
I would have already packed my bags and moved to Japan if women there wore makeup like this casually every single day. God it would be a paradise.
how do these media companies afford stuff like this
netflix has like 280 million subscribers. even if every one of those was on their minimum ad-israelited $7 tier that's $2 billion per month in revenue.
Hopefully porkzula will get back in shape by the end.
Why people love Toph so fricking much?
Just because shes competent?
Reasons
I like her as a character, but not as a "waifu" or anything. She's got a good sense of humor.
Most of us were Toph's age when we first watched the show, and we had a crush on her more than Katara or Azula. Seeing her be portrayed poorly in live action would be like seeing a CGI recreation of your dearly departed wife except she looks off and has no similarities in personality.
This
I still think S3 Katara is top-tier though
will they allow Katara to show midriff?
You know the answer is no 🙁
We already know the answer is know because Ty Lee doesn't get to keep hers either
No, they do add shirtless and naked male scenes though, don't support Wokeflix
Katara is a minor, you sicko!
Faye isnt a minor
At least she's not fat
cute
>turns 18 in 2 months
possibly
>Most of us were Toph's age when we first watched the show
Well this explains why you guys think this mid show is a masterpiece, lol.
All she needs is a buccal fat removal and she'd be a good Azula. Admit it.
That doesn't fix the moonface, it just takes two chunks out of it.
