NETFLIX is worried about the R-RATED cut of REBEL MOON tarnishing the franchise

NETFLIX is planning to release the R-rated cut only after the debut of the second part. They want REBEL MOON to be the kind of franchise that can be appreciate by all kinds of demographic, with cartoons and things like that planned ahead.
There is a worry that the R-rated cut is too niche and weird, and that it might shift the perception regarding the franchise.

How can you turn a franchise like SW into an R rated one when part of its success comes from the fact that's avaliable to everybody? Explain yourself, because if what you want is Jar Jar raping Anakin while Padme watches then you can comission that, no need for netflix or cinemas.

Nothing about Rebel Moon would appeal to children.

Star wars has r2d2 and c3p0, which even babies who cannot talk yet were able to enjoy due to r2d2's musical emotional beeps and boops. Star wars also had luke, while portrayed by an adult actor, was a very child-like character. Rebel Moon's leading "lady" already had al her character development apparently happen off screen before the movie ever started. Vs rebel moon's hardened, jaded, emotionless grown up female child super soldier who already knows everything. You know, exactly the kind of character children relate with!

There are also no fun musical moments, goofy slapstick scenes(jar jar, droids, farting aliens, etc). I dont even Remeber any kind of chase scenes or anything else kids would like.

There is also no cute/dilly critters. No ewoks. No baby yoda. No porgs. No jawas. No chewbacca. No gungans.

All rebel moon had going for it was that it was trying to be more adult/serious than star wars. They could have gone for the grown up star wars fandom and tried to make the show more dark like game of thrones or some such.

Instead its not adult enough for adults and not childish enough to be a family movie, falling into the same no mans land demographic problem that the disney star wars sequels fell into themselves despite disney's focus on producing childish content. Ironic.

      >It's odd how companies now seem to want things to be failures now, how do they make it work?

Watch The Producers sometime or read up on Uwe Boll. It's called success from failure based on taking the money and running. The producers get the tax write-off money and run away laughing to their private Epstein Island while the audience whines about the woke/broke line of bullshit and the director blames the audience instead of the producers. Divide and conquer a society while being paid to do so through banking off of throwing the fight. It's brilliant.

It's a subversion of hentai. Instead of the tentacle monster fricking a school girl, it's the bad guy

Ok, so get the the point here, are they trying to get him to sanitize the R-Rated cut or not release it at all? Is there some indication that they're changing the plan?
