Never ever listen to Cinemaphile, I just finished Fargo s5 after binging it after the show's finale and it's actually very fun, just like always Cinemaphile is always hating on everything that releases and only old shows/movies are good in their eyes. Also True Detective s4 is fun too, cry about it

Had to stop watching because it was so bad. World's most boring woman escaping for the fourth time from drumpf voters, patriarchal golfer rant, Jan 6 sheriff baby argument with boss b***h. Think you have to be one of those usa democrats to not have your sensibilities somewhat insulted by this trash
See
You need to ignore any post with a sensitive trumptard poster. Everybody else enjoyed Fargo, and different people rank the seasons differently.
It's not just political bias...
Lars (white) was probably a Democrat voter, but he was a manbaby whose wife just leaves him after the powerful matriacrch makes her realize the state of her life...
The security guard asking his own boss: white
The magatard about to light fire in a gas filled room: white
>It's not just political bias...
>maga
Sure buddy lol
You're just very upset because it's all 100% true lmao
Americans take being moronic to a whole new level its funny
this post is 100% false because i say so!
you are from a country i don’t like!
i’m smart for being stupid!
>Cry about it
>as I cry that people don’t like it
Sure showed us
Naw. Black dude is pathetic white knight who gets killed because he was emasculated as a child by his all female household, but that's presented as a good thing. King Steve from Stranger Tings is a punching bag and abuse victim the show presents as deserving of permanent disfigurement and prison rape (they realized they hadn't sold it by the time Munch abducts him, so they make sure to throw in a cheap line about "young girls"). Roy gets sentenced to infinite prison rape from Yass-queen Girlboss debt collector, then the show has the balls to try to shove in some "debt is bad so just forgive it" nonsense from Dot - but other than the revenge Munch seeks, what the frick does she know or care about debt forgiveness? The only "debt" we're told she has is the absurd, insane "debt" Roy feels he is owed as her ex-husband that we as the viewers are told to view as absurd. That whole last scene is entirely unearned. What the frick are Munch's motivations for doing anything? They wanted an Anton Chigurh character who inverts the scene with Llewelyn's wife, but they didn't give us enough reason for why that would take place. He respects her so he eats a biscuit, and it saves his soul? He literally says that he had family with the Indians (for some fricking reason). Why wasn't the curse lifted then? This was a season with 50% filler of long shots of nothing, padding the run time with the facade of artsy shit that really was just cynical problem solving to make a simple plot 10hrs long. They could have been doing more with Witt, Gator, hell I would have loved more Roy actually doing stuff instead of just staring at the camera and giving long meaningful glances out into the distance. D+ at best.
And fricking a hell of a lot more Danish Graves. But no, gotta have Dot look at the camera and emote wordlessly for 5mins for the umpteenth time
it's just a feminist masturbatory propaganda trash, no reason to expect anythin
Best to worst Fargo:
Season 3
S2
S1
S5
S4
Even the bottom half is still fun to watch but season 3 is kino
for me its...
s2
s1
s5
s3
s4 (ended up skipping lol)
I'll rank season 1 the highest just because of the shock factor. I don't remember a lot of season 2, but season 3 was tight. Season 4 I skipped. So
Season 1
Season 3
Season 2
.
.
.
.
Season 5
Big agree
>Season 4 I skipped
Good call on that one. If you'd watched it, you would have to insert another powergap under season 5 and rank it below that.
I’m also a season 4 skipper. How in the world was 4 worse than 5? 5 was one of the worst 10 hours of tv I’ve seen in my life
>How in the world was 4 worse than 5?
Sassy black girlbosses. Need I say more?
No lmfao
Prove it and say what scene you liked the most.
any with oola moonk
True Detective isn't supposed to be "fun". You are just stupid.
I have fun watching it
commit suicide, FX shill.
I don't have a problem with people enjoying things I hated.
More power to you.
I'm just sad they're wasting good acting, photography and music on Twitter-tier writing.
It's sad really, we are probably better than ever when it comes to production, but at one of our lowest points ever when it comes to story and screenwriting.
thats millenials for you
Had my issues with it - the FBI agents were kind of useless and forgettable overall, Sheriff Roy was too depraved and evil for a man of God, and a few other things - but enjoyed it for the most part. My biggest knock on the show was that they were setting up a big and bloody firefight at the end of Ep. 9, then we end up with most of that action implied and off-camera in the finale. The lack of a shootout was disappointing.
munch was the only reason i kept watching
this season was absolute trash
Reminder that Wayne is the best Fargo character.
Didn't think much about him until that last episode. He's just an unstoppable steamroller of friendliness.
how was a son of a billionaire so nice? must be his detached affluent dad's influence. he seemed really nice too. bit of a drunk
more like his dad is, but yeah they're both pretty cool
is Scotty's peq ducktapped to the bottom of her barrel. Also no trigger discipline, fricking NOOB SCOTTY
she's just making them hold guns for the holiday card, scottie likey isn't familiar with large calibur automatic weapons
>trigger discipline
her hand is nowhere near the trigger its on the grip only
it's not fun when it's so stupid it's moronic
writing good plots takes skill
I got another episode and a half to finish but I wanted to say the first 4 eps were legit kino. Great stuff into the Halloween assault. After that though it sort of fizzled out. Puppet episode was a waste and I don't think Owen Munch got the time he needed. Danish Graves was my favorite.
>Danish Graves was my favorite.
This. Him and Munch were the best characters of this season. Danish at first looks like a comical, bumbling toadie but turns out to be a badass fixer.
his was an idiot with no agency and the only time he showed some he got himself killed like a moron
>got himself killed like a moron
Who the hell didn't in this season?
This doesn't have the DNA of a Coen brothers story. It's like bad fan fiction.
>What if we retold No Country for Old Men
>But with a lady who is like John McClain from Die Hard
>Oh and the end will be a farce like O Brother Where Art Thou but making fun of Anton Chigurh
It just doesn't work.
Other bullshit:
Why was the black cop a suicidal risk taker?
Jennifer Jason Leigh can barely act.
Cop woman can barely act.
A ten episode long anti-domestic violence screed is the type of ideologically loaded shit that the Corns NEVER include in their movies.
>Jennifer Jason Leigh can barely act.
Stop embarrassing yourself.
?si=sl3IwGiZ3m3fZTDg
Look she's capable of being decent. But needs good directing and dialogue. Her awkwardness hugging Dot was good. Her girl boss scenes were bad.
wow, that was terrible.
>literally arrested and compound seized on drumf's orders
lol lmao
Basically no Indira == Worst episode of the season
>Dot
Saves her family then filler until the ranch showdown where her presence accomplishes nothing but it felt dramatic I guess
>Roy
Sits around and does nothing while his moron minions bungle every job. Commits some random shock value kills that affect nothing. Quotes the Bible while Toxic plays and he flicks his nipple rings
>Lorraine
Random findom monologues with no actual bearing on the story
>Ole
Biggest player in the finale despite having no clear motivations and is still benched until the last two episodes
>Gator
Exclusively fricks up and fails at everything until his eyes are gouged out
>Witt
Does nothing and dies like an idiot
>Indira
Does nothing
>Wayne
Does nothing
>Hamish
Does nothing and dies like an idiot
>Linda
Didn’t matter
>>Dot
>Saves her family then filler until the ranch showdown where her presence accomplishes nothing but it felt dramatic I guess
I liked the part where the badass kitchen warrior opened the grave and jumped in and left the rifle outside for no reason
Okay I just finished the series and I agree with all your points. I think Fargo could withstand having the same story cross a couple seasons instead of just one stand alone. It feels like the show feeds one or two jobbers to help show a character have a badass moment, like Lorraine and the banker guy she ruins or Roy killing some loser husband. There needs to be more explored characters getting crushed by the bigger fish, it feels cheap when we get introduced to a one note nobody and they job just so the show can go "See? Roy/Lorraine can get shit done!" I guess I'm saying they need to be built up better. Earn their hits and wins more. Dod had the same issue in S2, he was still my favorite though. When a character goes down, I want it to feel like Tywin Lannister going down. I don't want to recognize the formula and see the writing on the walls, that's boring. And I could really pinpoint who was getting clobbered this season. I did like the last scene though. I could listen to Owen talk for an hour straight.
Ole* Not sure why I'm calling him Owen. But yeah, he was hilarious with Wayne to go off of too.
this, spot on.
miss this lil homie like you wouldn't believe
Yeah I thought I hadn't paid enough attention to this season but so many of the characters did absolutely nothing. Also Roy's whole organization was so incompetent, the only tension in the entire story came from what Munch was going to do next
Was the ending convo trying to imply that Dot ate Roy’s “sin” by swallowing loads?
lol
I think it was eating food next to a dead body for munch(the ritual that made him immortal)
>500 yr old man who eats people's sins
>is name OLD MUNCH
Actual kino.
That's why I usually avoid the Fargo threads because I want to go in fresh with the new season and no bias given to me by shills and haters. I'm just hoping the season is better than 4, which was just the worst of the series, easily.
>just hoping the season is better than 4
Whatever else it was, it at least accomplished that.
Good enough for me at least.
Was MUNCH (Rhys Ifans) meant to be a vampire? What the frick was all that shit at the end??
>For 100yrs I spoke to no one etc
What??
>Fighting a tiger in a cage, is not a fair fight
You saw his origin story earlier in the season, right? His dialogue in the last episode makes little sense if you don't have that background.
I was pretty tired. Had assumed they were adding weird plot lines and that was an ancestor of his or some shit. Makes sense I guess, sort of.
sam spruell, not rizz ifans
Well I'll be fricked.
he explains how eating the sins of the dead caused him to not age or die. he wandered the earth eventually coming to north america like the vikings, hunting with the natives until the spaniards/puritans came and did what they do best
query sin eater
>is always hating on everything that releases
only american stuff. I'm boycotting all american entertainment indefinitely.
werent teh last few seasons propaganda BLM trash? fool me once etc.
The only way this makes sense is as parody of Coens and pop culture in general.
>Coen Brothers movies have themes of chaos, moral ambiguity, and rarely have a neat moral message
Let's make a season that is an anti-domestic violence PSA.
>Fargo came out in the mid-1990s. What movies would be parodied in that era?
Home Alone, Die Hard.
>What's would be a funny twist on the Chigurh/Carla Jean discussion in No Country?
If she exposed his bad logic and fed him a meal.
Yet I don't believe the showrunner is capable of this level of commentary so I'm assuming this season is just hackery.
>and it's actually very fun,
and it's actually also very moronic
>Also True Detective s4 is fun too, cry about it
It's entertaining if you don't stop and think about how horribly derivative most of it is. Did noah just run out of interesting midwestern true crime stories to bowdlerize?
Then you've got moments that almost have you screaming at the tv like when our strong and resourceful tiger leaves her only real means of defense laying out of reach.
That's a good example of really shitty writing. Obviously she wouldn't leave her means of defence outside to be discovered. Additionally, the goon was already told to go and look in the place, so there was no need for a "breadcrumb".
They could've easily written the scene as Dorothy hearing someone outside, getting ready to shoot as the lid opens and just before she shoots she hears/sees Munch.
The happy ending with Munch made me like the rest of the season a lot more. But it's funny going back to episode 1 of the season and Munch talks more like a normal person. They clearly hadn't figured out the angle with him yet
Why isn't the finale available on HBOmax, wtf?
none of the usual free streamsites have it either
So was the daughter trans?
She cute
she looks like a female worf from star trek
nah she was cuter
She can be.
How did they punish her white husband because of his form of toxic masculinity? You know, with all the different forms of toxic masculinity being punished in all white male characters?
He was kicked out of the house and presumably divorced.
Should he have been rewarded for being a parasite?
He shouldn't be a stock character of a form of Toxic masculinity (the man child archetype) but a real character, i'm not american, i don't care that my shows won't have a moral lesson or a "take that", i just want good writing...
>He shouldn't be a stock character of a form of Toxic masculinity
He wasn't. Him being an ass explains why Indira changed jobs which in turn lead to her being instrumental in saving Dot. Lorraine Lyon wouldn't have know half of what was going on if she didn't go to work for her as her new right hand man. This show isn't that hard to follow, it's just that seething is more important to you than thinking.
Did she even care that he died?
I'm sure part of the reason she's keeping the sheriff alive is to torture him for that
yes
it's not easy to find a good employee
I really enjoyed her performance in this. Seems she Botox/filleted/bogged herself since then.
>Filleted?
Fillered. You get the idea.
Imma filler your ass with my dick
Yeah nah nah yeah yeah nah.
He was a super ass, in fact it was his defining feature. 0 empathy, 0 self reflection, 0 personality beyond him being an ass. Almost as if he was a STOCK character you fricking moron. Do you even know what that means? And why the frick are you insulting my understanding of the series, i got it, i think it all went over your head considering all you're doing is rehashing the plot without trying to understand the themes or what the writer tried to inject. Which is a "stunning and brave" portrait of woman combating toxic masculinity. Please just shut the frick up if you're too dumb to understand basic understanding of media.
>You don't understand understanding man!!
But you're right. He was a collection of chiches, nothing more.
get standards
I was just remembering the airhorn bit in the first episode of the season. This was probably only one of the moments that made me feel like it was still gonna be the same funny goofy Fargo.
Then it went the complete opposite direction
>Also True Detective s4 is fun too, cry about it
Closet TDetective shill thread.
Time for breakfast. Eggs laden with herbs.
I don't give a frick about politics, I just wanted a good shootout for the finale, but what we got was some old welsh freak in a kilt eating pancakes.
Yeah that was horribly disappointing. After a season that was all filler. We got more filler at the end.
20 fricking minutes of Munch just staring and talking as slow as possible..
>aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa mmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnsssssssss sssssssssssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnsssssssssssss
1st season finale runtime - 63 minutes
2nd season finale runtime - 54 minutes
3rd season finale runtime - 53 minutes
4th season finale runtime - 39 minutes
5th season finale runtime - 45 minutes
Last two seasons felt like literal decline in both writing and directing. 5th season especially is egregious will all the padding and filler.
kek only 45 minutes and 20 of it was just stretched out slow talking munch
Just thinking about this image from the IMDB page. Did we never get this scene?
He seems to have no cast on and the first time we see Gator is when Munch breaks his arm.
I have no recollection of the scene in your pic.
>dont trust the website you use voluntarily
stop coming here then homosexual. go have "fun" some
I thought the season was pretty great. I was worried they would go the obvious route of having Lorraine have her commupance eventually so Im glad they didn't. And Munk having a happy ending was nice too but it was pretty drawn out.
Dunno the point of the female cop at all
the final battle felt a bit rushed, what happened to the tank? But my biggest complaint is Graves just dying unceremoniously, I thought he would turn out to be tied to Munk somehow, what with his name being Graves and his eyepatch hiding something underneath, they usually throw in supernatural stuff and before munk had his origin story episode I thought for sure it would be Graves with his eyepatch. So its a real bummer nothing came out of it.
It was just a lib power fantasy dunking on a rightoid power fantasy. Lame season overall but the 500 year old guy was kind of cool and the indian cop lady was hot but pretty pointless character
See
Im a racist sexist antisemetic anti-government conservative and I was able to enjoy it. Lighten up fruitcake.
Cattle say EEEEHHHHHH
Smells like white guilt (bitch)
So the centuries the guy has been on earth not once did he come across the premise of lol just like forgive debts man
Another filtered soul. He took on someone else's sins and was never forgiven which in turn lead him to treat others the same way.
>WAIT! Do you guys have any extra body armor? Hah just kidding les go get'em!
> dies for absolutely nothing
>He uhhhh...... he had 6 sisters... now lets move onto the next scene where munch rambles for 20 minutes
They couldn't even give him a decent send-off
>That must have been why he was so nice
For frick sake.
>male character takes down 3 huge bruisers through amazing dicksucking skills
>companions stare in disbelief
>"I grew up with six sisters"
they look like AI generated aged sarah gadon and jon hamm
9 out of 10 new shows or movies are literal dogshit these day's
That's an optimistic estimate. 9 out of 10 shows and movies were always dogshit, but there used to be that reliable 1 out of 10 that was worth your time. Now we have maybe 1 out of 100 that isn't total dogshit.
Yeah I can only think of a few shows in the last 5 years that are actually good.
The curse
White lotus
How to with John Wilson
Better call Saul
Not saying these shows are perfect but idk if any others aren’t total dogshit
>Yeah I can only think of a few shows in the last 5 years that are actually good.
>The curse
yikes how old are you
30. What shows have you liked in the past 5 years?
i turn 30 in april and none
Oh, that’s sad. Didn’t like better call Saul? I forgot succession. I liked that.
better call saul is older than five years
succession isn’t a real good show its just watchable
Fair. Ok what are you all time fav shows?
It's good. I thought episodes 8 and 9 dragged a bit. But overall, it was fun. 8/10
i just finished finale, waited all week to see how it played out. i really enjoyed it, way better than s4 which i gave up and skipped after 3 episodes. at the end with oola moonk eating the biscuit i actually shed a tear for some reason, first time that happened since sophia walked out the barn in twd lol. i learned not to listen to Cinemaphile about stuff years ago. incels that fear anything with a strong woman lol
What sucks is that this season has all the ingredients to be a fun parody of fargo and other coen brothers movies. But it isn’t self aware.
does anyone remember in like episode 1 or 2 scotty comes to talk to the dumb b***h mom and she's wearing underwear and picking at her ass and there's like this really weird dialogue between the two where she says "got a wedgie there?!" or something and the girl nods and then they move on.
can anyone explain this to me? what the frick?
>Whatchu got going on down there?
>A wedgie
Yeah, no idea.
it still bothers me more than the fricking puppet show episode. It seems like it was put in just to perve on an underage girls ass
Oh shit I forgot about that. Such a weird scene. Plus they tried to make her come off as early-trans in the first few eps
>Plus they tried to make her come off as early-trans in the first few eps
You're just a moron is all
What else did her cross dressing imply
Just ignore him.
troony obsessed
I wish they would all just shut the frick up about it.
It's stupid and written by midwit homosexual redditors
The Camp Utopia sequence was fricking brilliant but incels can't cope with the implication that somewhere at some point in history a woman had a real, legitimate problem that was caused by a man. Dumb wienersuckers
you make no sense and you use zero logic in your own reasoning. it was fricking stupid and ultimately meaningless when she woke up and it was all fake anyway. way to deal with "real" problems by fantasizing a whole scenario in your head and then never really resolving them when you have a chance to put one between it's eyes. kek.
Have y’all gone to the subreddit for the show? Filled with tons of praise, people calling it the best show they’ve ever seen lmao
I live in Minnesota, and I don't remember any of this. You would think an immortal guy would make at least a couple news cycles. True story, my ass. Hawley and the Coen brothers are hacks.
Is the black security guard related to the afro guy who worked for Kansas City?
why did she drop the gun before she went into the grave
Ole Munch really got defeated with the power of friendship and love
