Very comfortable adventure of the week sci-fi show with a more esoteric setting. In some aspects it's dated, but it mostly holds up since they opted for practical effects when possible.

still holds up very well. I recently gave it a rewatch after the show ended and it was still as great as back then.
Watch SG1 and Stargate Atlantis, Universe is boring garbage.

Universe had a great premise and the whole dynamic with the military, Rush and Eli added decent stakes, but it was just so painfully slow and introduced story arcs that nobody gave a shit about.

I've tried to watch it about 4 or 5 times. It's so shit. I don't like any of the characters. Everybody is an butthole for no reason. They seem to be using old Star Trek sets when they FINALLY get off world. The flashback parts of the early episodes were poorly edited in. Forced drama. The 'ship is a character lol' shit was boring and any time they wanted drama the 'ship' would randomly do something. The multiple factions formation made no sense.

The factions weren't the biggest issue imo, it was

Simply getting rid of the brain swap stones would have been a great improvement. It wouldn't have fixed all the problems, but it was a big enough problem that it should never have happened in the first place.

and the stupid "let's just settle on this designed planet!" arc that fricked the show more than anything. Beyond that the mystery aspect of the ships mission was a decent idea because it allowed for the conflict between Rush and the colonel to make sense beyond personal animosity. The show had all the pieces in place to keep up tension and make it decent, but the writers just fumbled with filler-tier storylines.

It started out strong, but devolved into just anotehr CW teen drama show.

          >We didn't have gays back then
We literally have several episodes where Tokra are in different bodies and had partners of the opposite sex before. So there were gays. Granted it was just copying Star Trek Deep Space 9 idea and 'wiggle' room. But still.

Watch Stargate (1994), the movie that the show is a sequel to. If you like that, you'll like the show.

I am still mad they didn't do an alternate reality episode/mirror episode and had the original DJ actor play DJ in an alternate reality.

Doubt they made out but it got cold at night so I'm sure they ended up cuddling at some point.

Reminder the Amanda Tapping is a B*ng and wore the American Flag as apparel which is against the Flag Code and thus a crime. All Amanda Tapping Simps Must HANG.

Yes. As stated in the Flag Code. You can wear clothes with the American Flag as the design, you cannot wear the ACTUAL flag as clothing. Furthermore, all those people screeching about 'burning of the flag' need to read the Flag Code. That is literally how you're suppose to dispose of it.

          Anyway. BONGS OUT.

She is covering her body with the American Flag. That counts as 'apparel'. Therefore it is a crime. The fact it isn't enforced and people screech 'muh 1st Amendment rights' in USA is moronic. Which is why most American Flag burnings are in USA, not in Iran or whatever.

The Flag Code has no enforcement mechanism nor any required punishment. Because of this, courts have interpreted it as a set of suggested guidelines rather than criminal law, and quickly dismiss any complaints filed under it.

It holds up. But it is quitw cheep. Espesily early seson. They have 3-4 filming locations for gate sites per season. You see same ruin multiple times per season.
They also reuse shots. It gets funny in later season when guard post shot is so much lower quality then rest of episode.
Early seasons weapon props are really bad. They have cardboard tube rocket launcher in gate room.
Later on when they have more props. Show dosent look as cheep.
