I don't even see why he lied about his identity after letting Titus die. The oath he swore put his commitment to the mission over his commitment to his knight. The knight died doing something utterly stupid which jeopardized the mission and the flight crew were witnesses to Titus ditching the mission to frick around in the woods. He just keeps lying about his identity and it just keeps making shit worse and he's incapable of learning, just like blacks in real life
