this can't be an anti-activist movie though. There will be some twist which will show the activists are the good guys in the end or something. the ~~*you know whos*~~ wouldn't allow "environmental" activists to be portrayed as bad ala Michael Crichton's State of Fear - one his only books to never be optioned for adaptation, whether made or not yet made, for that very reason.

Oh great, they're repeating the Steven Seagull mistake when doing their Die Hard ripoff. When will they learn that you need the everyman-out-of-their-league-up-against-terrorists to actually be an everyman and not some secret badass that only has a shitty job because they want to or because they're "too cool" to take orders.
This. The badass is overdone. Take John Wick or any Tony Jana/Iko Uwais movie. It feels like there is no big stakes because they're too good and can only be slowed down by sheer numbers.
Die Hard had a blue collar cop (the book it's based on had a more badass character, but he was way older and more realistic. There was even a bit about him breaking someone's neck and having the skills to do it, but he never done it before so it flet like a big deal and not a sure thing. He also lost a lot during the book, his daughter was murdered by the terrorists). Even Jackie Chan is less badass. He knows how to fight but he gets chased a lot so he isn't just mowing down enemies left and right all the time.
