Because any threat to the world that the kid would be able to handle would be outclassed by the adults. If Pan so much as has her toe stepped on, she has 4-5 literal gods to solve the problem. The only solution would be to seal the main cast away, but in order to do that you'd need a threat more powerful than the cast (or some bs that many fans would call bullshit on anyway), which would mean Pan would need to be powered up as well to contend with that, and it just becomes a whole bunch of convoluted nonsense. So if they're going convoluted nonsense, might as well keep the ones that sell S.H. Figuarts (Goku/Vegita) in play.
For the record, I do think this is a dumb way to go about it though. Just let the franchise fricking cool off for a few years.

Why not just remake GT? SSJ4 (Gogeta especially) is still very popular and GT had some good ideas (with bad execution). Just introduce a villain that will suck the God Ki out of Goku and Vegeta and then have it lead into the GT remake, making it and SSJ4 finally part of canonical lore.

Why not just remake GT? SSJ4 (Gogeta especially) is still very popular and GT had some good ideas (with bad execution). Just introduce a villain that will suck the God Ki out of Goku and Vegeta and then have it lead into the GT remake, making it and SSJ4 finally part of canonical lore.
