This seems counter intuitive to the point of the Mad Max storytelling. You tell a story and you move on to the next one without dwelling on the last or allowing yourself to make meaningful connections. It's like if you made a prequel to a random vampire Hunter D story about the plebs he hasn't even met yet. No one fricking cares.
Miller and his team wrote backstories for Furiosa and Max (Max's was in-between Thunderdome and Fury Road) while they were writing Fury Road. Furiosa's was full fledged script while Max's ("The Wasteland") was a novel. Miller wanted to make both, but Furiosa was easier to start with because it was already in script form.
Yeah but Last Night in Soho was bad to mediocre enough that George should have questioned Edgar's judgement. But I suppose if they're going to cast the role then they usually end-up employing quasi-aristocracy like Anya-Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy.
I hope it's good, there hasn't been any good movies for so damn long. The story being a prequel to a character that wasn't exactly endearing might be a struggle, I think George might have finally jumped le shark.
Challengers was the best movie I have seen at the cinema in a long time. Yeah there is some gay shit in the movie it is legit kino with an amazing score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

Immortan Joe and his boys were pretty cool, and I have faith in Hemsworth. The title character is the least interesting in all of the movies in this series.
Miller is being a bit silly with this stronk indepenent womyn who don't need no man stuff isn't he? Add driving into the mix and it's twice as ridiculous.
>Miller is being a bit silly with this stronk indepenent womyn
I always thought it was a bit gay to have hero's like John Wayne and such in their tight trousers and big hats, I would rather look at a female hero any day, maybe not Charlize Theron or a couple of other nutters but you get my point.
It will do okay but not great. People aren't too hot on a prequel story. We literally know who can and can't die already. Protip, it's going to be Hemsworth's character that dies because who else is there on the poster besides Immortal Joe and Furiosa?
What was the last great poster?
The Fall Guy has couple of good painted posters.
The Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color poster is awesome. I just got one of those in earlier this week.
litty prequel slop

The chronology of the Mad Max films shouldn't be examined too closely in any case, and Fury Road is if anything a soft reboot of the story.
>and Fury Road is if anything a soft reboot of the story.
Not according to Miller.

Based boomer who still reads the paper. I'll toast my next Modelo in honor of you.
Shut up chud, the Force is female now.
I just don't care that much about the character Furiosa.
whoiosa?
Did she even get more bogged? Looks like a fricking space alien.
I wonder why George picked Anya to portray a young Furiosa after seeing Last Night in Soho rather than Thomasin?
Because Edgar told him to.

That's just your opinion of the film.
I doubt even George Miller himself would admit that Last Night in Soho is a good movie. Even Three Thousand Years of Longing was better.
Mad Max movies should not have significant time skips
They all have. There's several years in between 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 3 and 4.
*shakira voice * yo onions furiosaaa

Big billies incoming, or obscenely embarrassing flop? You be the judge.
This has a bigger budget than Fury Road, it's flopping hard
Depends if it releases and does well in China.

What was even the point of doing a prequel?
have immortan joe again
Why is she in semi-blackface?
I bet Immortan Joe is Lady Gaga.
Wait til you see the dance routine.
How did Furiosa fix her weird alien face?
Was going to ask this, unless the final scene is Furiosa getting facial reconstruction surgery in this apocalyptic wasteland
She fanged it off a cliff and got lucky
Don't care what anyone says, I'm excited for this and I'm counting the days.
It's gonna be epic.
At the very least we'll get to see Hemsworth with his natural accent.
Apparently he's doing a more nasally 70s/80s version of the aussie accent
Immortan Joe was right
How the frick did we go from Immortan Kino Joe to Chris Hemsworth? Nothing against the guy but his "villain" looks like Reddit tier
Immortan should appear too
Up your ass you fricking homosexual.
