The frick is it with this meme, Gladiator was SHIT. The editing sucks, the story is bland and Russel's acting is as stiff as a wooden plank. Evry single fight scene is a mess, and the awful blue filter is everywhere. Alien and Blade Runner were flukes.

It's a mess, I get that they maybe wanted to portray the fighting as a messy, all over the place, every man for himself kind of ordeal, but it just comes across as a poor montage of random snippets of what could have been a compelling choreography instead of 10000 fast cuts with no sense of whole. And for a movie about a man so famed for his skirmishing prowess, it felt cheap and lazy to have them make every single actual gladiating scene an editing fiasco.
