It unironically has 0 redeeming qualities. There isn't a single aspect of the movie that would qualify as well done. No good acting performances. The visuals and atmosphere are mediocre especially by Fincher standards. The soundtrack is a bunch of The Smiths songs. And the script is formulaic with a handful of head scratchingly stupid moments by Fassbender's character thrown in. It's a revenge story where the only reason the character is out for revenge is because he's an idiot who caused all his own problems by simply having 0 common sense
Its not boring because its slow, its boring because there's no reason to care about anything that's happening. It fails to create any suspense or tension, the MC narrates cringy midwit philosophy and observations like a teenager, the minimal story there is isn't engaging at all, the action isn't well done, and most of the MCs actions in general don't make sense or are downright stupid.
Sounding like a boomer here, but we actually watched the movie or quit it. Don't pretend you watched it when you're on your phone half the time.

I'm a different anon. Ive been looking forward to this movie for months. It was terrible and I was very disappointed. The writing was shockingly bad and made it impossible to give a shit about anything that happened because it all could've been avoided if Fassbenders character wasn't a complete fricking moron

its not that its not engaging, its very formulaic and generic. hitman has girlfriend attacked so he goes on revenge. kills 4 people and threatens the last, end of story.
typical revenge empowerment fantasy, a lot of autistic plebs jerked off over it with drive but this doesnt have some fake retro vibe to it, its more modern, and literally has a line where he calls people normies. its a terrible script
