Domee Shi set to direct. Plot synopsis:
>For Fang Scarlett, being a Jiangshi isn’t easy. Ever since the bite in 1958, she not only misses garlic and seeing the morning sunrise, but her family and livelihood as a human.
>Now, her social life is a clan of SoCal vampires who don’t drink human blood and are determined to find a cure for their immortality called the Underbite Club, much to the disdain of the other vamps.
>But with her kind regularly facing hostility and threats from humans everywhere, Fang must choose to take a stand or continue to reject her state as a creature of the night.
>The animation will take influence from graphic novels and feature a brand new design language for Pixar
Nice larp
>Fang dies at the end of the movie after stepping out into the sunlight without a hoodie on
>But she doesn't actually die
WAS THAT THE BITE OF 1958
Sounds so bad that it might be real.
>Ever since the bite in 1958
Frick you I was gonna post that.

Turning Red
>Domee Shi set to direct. Plot synopsis:
More like Doomed Shit
On one hand, this concept sounds fun, and the jiangshi is still novel to most Americans, whose only exposure has been through Darkstalkers.
On the other hand, they already fricked up. They're afraid of sticky rice, not garlic.
OP here. Allegedly she’s half Chinese so she embodies a mix of regular and chinese vampires, and there are a bunch of different types of cultural vampires in the movie.
How contrived. Does that mean a fully Chinese person will turn into a jiangshi if he were bitten by a vampire?
Yeah it’s culture dependent I assume
How moronic. I withdraw my initial tepid endorsement.
More like UnderBAIT, amirite?
frick yes. frick yes. turning red was pixar's best film but i just know this one will somehow top it. shi-heads we eatin' good.
I’m surprised Pixar hasn’t fired her ass after Turning Cringe.
I once had a random dream of seeing Domee Ashi in a library and apparently she was a children’s book author and illustrator.
And I also remember her being a c**t to me for no reason.
So I assumed she was racist.
