Honestly my takeaway is that Roiland and Harmon need a perfect balance and they started losing that. Honestly my takeaway is that Roiland and Harmon need a perfect balance and they started losing that. Harmon sounds like a homosexual so I want to side with the schizo manchild, but I think Solar Opposites proves that letting Roiland run wild with whatever dumbass idea comes into his head is also not great. I think Harmon was needed to leash Roiland and keep his ideas at least somewhat narratively structured, while Roiland was needed to keep Harmon from going full melodramatic pseud. No wonder it took so long to make seasons when they were tiptoeing this line.

Surprisingly much better than I expected. Sounds pretty similar when they're just talking. Unfortunately what really made Roiland's voice great was the screams and voice cracking, and I doubt they're gonna get anywhere close to hitting those. And I don't really have a lot of faith in the writing being good enough to carry the show without Roiland's funny voices.

The show hasn't been good for a few seasons anyway, these cringe new impression VA's is the final nail for me.
Rick is completely off at anything other than a regular speaking voice, the second he has to show emotion it becomes a different voice.
Rick & Morty will always be remembered for that 1 really good season and a few decent episodes after that.
