It strains belief, even in a fantasy world, that this could exist since any mixed population, whatever the initial reason, would intermix and become a homogenous race after a few generations. The key to any fantasy worldbuilding is to establish the fantasy elements (dragons, dwarves, whatever) and make it feel as real as possible by making everything else as believable as possible. Otherwise there's no immersion.

This is a ubiquitous problem across Hollywood. The casting choices for most media post 2005 have been fricking garbage and is getting worse and worse. Chuds focus on race but the problem is much deeper than that.
Ultimately it's the writing that makes or breaks these shows but politically motivated casting choices are always gonna be massive warning sign when it comes to the quality of a series like this. Whenever the publicity and advertising of something is more focused about the diversity of the cast or their sexual orientations than the actual plot I almost immediately assume it's gonna be a shit product.
