A lot of R&S' charm is owed to its sound design, which a lot of cartoons afterwards would no doubt copy.
You're not saying anything about the artwork which is massively influential. The philosophy of the show can be identified in many many things made afterwards.
I can respect something for being innovative and influential, but I won't pretend that either of those things mean it was good. Not that R&S was bad, but it definitely wasn't great except perhaps for the standards of the time. The animation is good and all, even if I don't particularly care for the artstyle, but that alone can't carry the show.
Actually it can, because art doesn't just serve as entertainment. Being a leading and revolutionary project is also very important. It might be understandable if people today go back to classic films and aren't very enthusiastic about them, but people will continue to study those films into the future for their historical importance and also for what can still be learned from them for making your own films

His complaints about toy funded shows don't hold water because stuff like btas prove that you can still get good animation and stories from cartoons even if they are selling action figures.

it all comes back to Ashanti’s old site. Can you believe that? Had it not been for her we wouldn’t even know what this thing even looked like.
