Literally Eisenberg 2.0 in my opinion
Nah, Hoult is a way better actor, I'm looking forward to seeing him play Lex. The only thing about this movie that doesn't worry me so far.
The issue with Eisenberg wasn't Eisenberg, it was how he was written and directed.
I too liked the Zucc Luthor idea. It just wasn't executed well
No shit because he was directed to act like the Joker
The issue with Eisenberg is everyone just sees him as the Facebook movie guy no matter what he does. He is typecast as Zuckerberg for the rest of his life.
Eisenberg is not intimidating in the slightest, he can’t play a super villain
If you ever needed proof that Gunn never read All Star and is lying out of his ass, here it is
I'm not sure what point you think you're making, but you're delusional if you thought Weightlifter Lex was ever going to happen under any circumstances.
Idiot.
>I'm not sure what point you think you're making
Gunn casted another Zuckerberg looking geek as Lex instead of someone who fits the part
Live action Lexes are always weaklings because it obviously confuses the iconography and messaging if he's a peak specimen having a cry.
>BAWWWWW
go frick yourself you stupid c**t
>Live action Lexes are always weaklings because it obviously confuses the iconography and messaging if he's a peak specimen having a cry.
It works IMO. It's also a theme that he COULD be just like Superman if he wasn't so obsessed and narcissistic.
there's nothing stopping Hoult from getting buff for the role. WB can hire the best physical trainers in the business for him
The fact that he went for Superman means he was up for getting buff. I've seen people saying this is Eisenberg 2.0 but I just don't see it
People here are pretending to be moronic
I truly hope you fellas are right, but I'll believe it when I see it
Eisenberg Cannot act. he's literally the same skittish sperg who speaks fast as frick to seem like he's intelligent.
Seems too young. This film in general confuses me with its title of Legacy.
It's supposed to be a Year One story that isn't an origin story but covers a young Superman in his early superhero career days. Legacy probably refers to his Kryptonian heritage since Braniac is going to be the villain.
He's gotta be established enough for the Authority to be the new kids on the block and set up a "What's so Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way" story. That and For All Seasons being the apparent basis of the movie is a real weird combo and has me concerned. (Along the lines of combining Death of Superman and Dark Knight Returns, maybe?)
It seems to be a role reversal, the DCU is supposed to be a setting where the public has known about superheroes for decades but their reputation is that their government stooges and use their power to commit unsavory acts but Superman's rise is going to usher in a new era of benevolent heroes that actually try to help everyone instead of serving their own nations or agenda.
>their government stooges and use their power to commit unsavory acts
it's probably not the authority/elite, but authority members back when they were part of stormwatch since gunn has said that authority isn't in it
wonder if they'll merge bendix with lex and have lexcorp be the ones supplying stormwatch with enhancements for their members
It doesn’t take much to establish yourself as a hero
>This film in general confuses me with its title of Legacy.
Mister terrific, Guy and Hawkgirl are all legacy characters aren't they ?
Mister Terrific isn't in the movie.
But he was cast
Wait, you're right. I was thinking of Mr Miracle.
it'll be funny and have a good soundtrack, that's all i can ask
>Seems too young.
Isn't he about the same age as the Superman actor?
Clark and Lex are supposed to be close in age.
I don't think age is exactly the issue. The issue is whether or not he has the gravitas for Luthor.
something about all of this seems familiar
>Bryan Singer has revealed that he would cast Nicholas Hoult as Superman if he was given the opportunity to revisit the superhero series.
They're all pedophiles
Damn the new guy is a the fricking second hand junkyard version of Cavill. Frick.
>Set him up for failure in the Superman audition
>He gets angry and jealous
>Cast him as Luthor
Is this 4D meta casting from Gunn?
how the frick could he ever think he's Superman material?
I don't know. That's why I think Gunn was setting him up to fail.
I could see it. He's 6'4, he has the right nerdish warm of Clark Kent.
He kind of looks like Kirk Alyn
probably just me but I think he would have made a decent flash
>2 pretty boys casted as nemesis
its gonna cause pic related to happen again to the internet unfortunately. I hope corensweet and hoult are prepared to see eachouther plug the others butthole
anon clex has been around for literally decades
>over 8,000 entries on ao3, bigger than almost all other dc ships
both actors have had gay roles, so i doubt they care
thats not what he is saying, he is talking about their likenesses
People have been writing slashfic about Clark and Lex since Smallville
They better make him completely bald, and no facial hair bullshit.
>No Snyder
>Bootleg Henry Cavill
>No Snyder
>Pedophile director who embodies the worst of the QuipCU
>No Snyder
>Overstuffed cast
>Convoluted plot
>NO SNYDER
This movie will be the biggest flop in comic book movie history
Idk man Nolan backing Snyder during most of his run just gives me more confidence that MoS was a good movie, maybe too dark with too much destruction but still at the very least, decent
It'll be fricking glorious when the Anti-Snyder npcs have a meltdown when this turd makes 190 million tops
Literally none of the people working on this had anything to do with what went down with Snyder.
Talking about the fans, blud
unlike sneeder, gunn superman won't be a drab lifeless movie
Snyder has never made a single good movie in his life
Sucker Punch is fun
I'll give you three.
Man of Steel. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Zack Snyder's Justice League.
Choke on that you inbred b***h.
>David S. GOYer
uh huh
Why are Snydergays so embarrassing?
They're venerating a man who played the Cranberries' Zombie in an actual zombie movie just because of the fricking title and chorus. He's about as far from a cinematic genius as I am.
Let's see your multibillion-dollar movie series bud
>Bro really left out Justice League
Get ready when rebel flop gigaflops worse than that orc/will Smith movie
>No Snyder
Good.
>Bootleg Henry Cavill
I would prefer to have THE American superhero to be played by an AMERICAN actor, thank you.
>No Snyder
Good.
>Pedophile director who embodies the worst of the QuipCU
Are you talking about Waititi? If you take Gunn's joke tweets about pedophilia, then might as well take everything written on Cinemaphile at face value.
>No Snyder
Good.
>Overstuffed cast
Isabela Moner is hot. Huge cast is okay as long as it's well-paced enough to give everyone enough spotlights.
>Convoluted plot
Oh, I didn't know the movie is out.
>BUT MUH LEAKS!
Shot down by Gunn himself.
>NO SNYDER
GOOD.
>another twink as Lex Luthor
gosh imagine if they had casted a twink as Kang.
Ape's getting recasted and jailed
I could actually see a black Lex especially with the DCAU memes or whatever, but that guy who played Kang is a weirdo, man really choked out his girlfriend like a moron
The star of Renfield? Gunn's making box office gold over here. Not surprising really after the box office success that was The Suicide Squad and the smash hit tv series loved and watched by everyone Peacemaker.
watch more movies you homosexual, nicolas hoult is an actual good actor
oh you're right. how could I forget the box office juggernaut that was the menu
>On a $30 million budget
>le big number = good movie and cast
ok im talking to a moron
Since when was box office a sign of acting ability ?
stick to cartoons, chump.
You Black folk are so fricking moron, I swear.
Ladderbro, in a time when MCU movies are bombing left and right and literally every MCU show since after Loki season 1 has done way worse ratings than Peacemaker (which actually did quite well in the ratings) this probably isn't the argument you want to make.
Also, Peacemaker has a better IMBD score than literally every MCU show and that includes Wandavision.
You know WB acted this way about BvS, right?
Calling it a box-office disappointment despite making $870m because it didn't break a billion.
And to be fair the last two Batman films each made a billion and BvS fell off a cliff after opening weekend. We've got the gift of hindsight now to see all the frick ups but their call was understandable.
Because 800 million was the box office of just Wonder Woman, and the solo Batman movies had made 50% more than 800 million to that point, and throwing all their biggest heroes together in a quarter billion dollar enterprise suggested a bigger take than 800 mil.
>Monday morning quarterbacking but for box office.
You're not in the industry and you never will be.
Keaton and Tony Leung respectively carried spidey and shang chi hard. And Bale in Thor as well, I guess.
So I take it that Nicholas won't return as Beast for Secret Wars?
Not when they can get Kelsey Grammar's 70 year old CGI ass
Huh
Post credit scene for The Marvels was an X-Men tease with Kelsey Grammar returning as Beast.
Batman movies can go on for a while without Joker. How come we can never escape Lex Luthor? I want to be excited but I just don't want another Lex Luthor scheme.
Luthor doesn't have to be the villain to be in the story, his presence should always be felt in Metropolis.
its obvious he will go the route of being one of clark's friends or something then suffer the fall of his ego. Which is KINO
>Gunn adapting Birthright
Oh great, then we'll have that cheesy scene of Superman threatening an over the top redneck parody
Southerners are subhuman
>How come we can never escape Lex Luthor?
Literally no Superman movie has gotten Lex right.
WTF!? Billy Zane was right there Gunn you fricking hack!
Too old sadly, he'd have been perfect in the 90s-00s but they dragged their feet
I disagree that Hoult is a bad actor or couldn't buff up a bit to look the part more but let's not pretend that The Menu wasn't moronic
okay then here is a better hoult role
he does look like a c**t when I imagine him bald, great casting I guess
Yea its not as though Hoult has ever excellently played an egotistical c**t that believes he is both above his contemporaries and doing what he believes is the best for his friends, for their sake, that is abruptly humbled multiple times by forces out of his control.
Every piece of news that comes out about this movie makes it seem worse.
What the hell is DC gonna do if this bombs? There will be ZERO goodwill left for yet another attempt.
It will bomb because capeshit is completely dead.
>Every piece of news that comes out about this movie makes it seem worse.
>No race swaps and only casting attractive women
Dunno man. I'm feeling pretty good about this so far
They raceswapped Superman's actor with a human when he's supposed to be Kryptonian.
>What the hell is DC gonna do if this bombs?
They get one final chance to set things right.
It's been too long. Have you seen the absolute fricking STATE of Any Addams lately? Nobody's falling to antilife over that
>Gunn Supes is a dollar store Cavill
>Gunn Luthor is a dollar store Eisenberg
And that's how you know this guy is high off his own farts.
Legacy is going to flop, and shit like Swamp Thing is going to GIGA flop. But in actuality, after Legacy flops I fully expect Zaslav to cancel at least half of the planned DCU projects.
>Still releasing Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 after Flash which was supposed to be the reset point of the old DCEU
>Gunn saying dumb stuff to justify it like "Oh Blue Beetle is the first DCU character even though Superman: Legacy will be the first DCU film"
Man WB is so moronic
I wonder if he regrets opening his mouth on Blue Beetle after that movie tanked so hard
I think he regrets opening his mouth on The Flash more.
The whole line-up is bizarre. Creature Commandos as the first film, the Authority, A Waller TV series - they are all things you do when everything is in full swing and you are starting to scrape the barrel. They are then muddling things up for casual audiences with Elseworlds. If we go by part of the failures with the MCU then TV shows are also a mistake for shared universes.
Creature Commandos and Waller were leftover projects from before Gunn became head of the DCU but were already in production. Authority is probably getting a movie since they'll play a major role in Superman Legacy.
I like Hoult and all, but he's a GigaDweeb, height notwithstanding. I remember that movie he did that was supposed to be his American Psycho, and it was just sad to think that he and the producers thought they had the next Bateman and Bale on their hands. He can do smarmy and slimy though, and he can get jacked so it's not as if it's bad casting, but he doesn't exclude the pure Alpha energy of Lex. Yes, he's a seething hairlet, but before Superman emasculated him, he was THE top dog. Hoult's just an upgraded Eisenberg. Really, the whole thing feels like a dollar store remake of whatever they were doing a decade ago.
I'm more interested to see where the Skarsgards end up. Alex was up for Sentry before they got a Korean manlet, and Bill could do JonCon or Alec Holland. Both could be in the running for Doom. Bill would've been a better Lex I think, he's got a weirder face, but has that autistic and menacing look.
I'm so sad about that Sentry casting man. Frick marvel
Same tbh. I know a lot of people hate Sentry, and I dislike nonsense like
>ermegerhd, he took Rogue's virginity, isn't he soooo awesome
or BENIS' awful writing. But the Jenkins runs and general idea were really interesting to me. Having this guy go from bum to super-genius god and having to both balance that, figure out if he really was a super-hero with an alter-ego or if he literally rewrote reality to that extent, and trying to do good while having the worst monster inside him, were decent hooks. And then the curveball is dropped that the Void is the "real" Reynolds and the Sentry was his guilt taking form and manifesting as a super-hero. That to me was unique and a very good foundation. I always saw the Sentry as a more nuanced Jekyll/Hyde, yet most people hate him and jerk off to Hulk, so what do I know?
In any case, Sentry looking like 11/10 perfection is a core concept of the character. An ugly Korean with a flat face that they're going to CGI muscles on surely isn't that. Hell, leakers say it's a Super-Saiyan thing where he gets blonde hair when he powers up. Wanna bet that "good Sentry" is Asian with black hair, and when he becomes evil Sentry he gets the "whitewashed" golden hair? Hell, they're not even doing The Void properly. It's apparently going to be a physical realm they'll go into.
It just makes me goddamn mad. They could've made a great psychological horror film and even kept it separate from the main MCU while still technically in continuity with the way the Sentry's powers work. It would've been their own Joker. But no, let's just do a SKWAD rip-off, cast an ugly Korean manlet and have him job to Dollar Store Super-Soldiers.
Why can't they do literally anything good? Geriatric Chilean Reed Ricardo, Walled Sue, Zesty Kangz, Korean Manlet Sentry; it's as if they deliberately want to tank the brand.
I don't recall the Sentry ever doing anything notable beyond being patient zero in Marvel Zombies
>DCU Clark looks like Henry Cavill
>DCU Lois kinda-sorta looks like younger Amy Adams
>DCU Lex looks like Eisenberg
Watch Josh Duhamel play Batman in the DCU.
These literally are literally cheaper, younger look-a-likes. WTF is Gunn planning for this timeline?
There is no way you believe any of the that except the cavill comparison unless you are face blind. Why are snyder cultist reaching so hard? I don't even get how his movies have gained such a cult, I get how raimi did, his movies felt very genuine to the character of spider-man or even nolan at points but sneeder? His movies seem like they are scared of feeling like sci fi pulp comic books
The preliminary box office numbers for Aquaman 2 are atrocious. Shazam 2 levels of bad.
Superhero fatigue has clearly set in for general audiences. Gunn better hope his Superman movie is good enough/has enough hype behind it to break through the superhero apathy that audiences now have.
>sauce - some TikTok nerd
I ain't finding an article talking about those "preliminary box office numbers", dork.
https://forums.boxofficetheory.com/topic/31569-the-box-office-buzz-tracking-and-pre-sale-thread/page/341/#comment-4619762
>some random message board
Still a shit source.
>Doesn't know BOT
If you're this clueless about box office, why are you opening your mouth? Learn to keep it shut.
No one is clairvoyant and those are not always accurate. So eat shit lmao.
Anyone can predict things.
I predict a giant Galactus sized ass will slam into the Earth 10 minutes after I post this and claim to have sources for it.
Predictions don't mean shit. 2016 proved that.
NTA but you are sounding like a whiny little b***h
Fart cast as Fart, Fart will play Fart in Fart Movie.
Kinda getting tired of these casting news after the 100 character casted
I keep getting him confused with James Marsden.
Are you blind
Little bit.
Is there a chance this will be good? Maybe Gunn is the cinematic Mark Millar where everything else he makes is juvenile crap except for an inexplicably good Superman.
GOTG3 was good
Gunn sisters... time to enjoy our tom king slop!
God, the Middle East plot is real isn't it? I know Gunn denied it but he did it in the same wishy washy way he denied The Authority being in it and now it's confirmed that they are.
The plot is real.
It's just not about middle Eastern terrorists, but the Middle East is apart of the movie
I guess you can take the boy out of the CIA but not the CIA out of the boy.
>now it's confirmed that they are.
Sauce?
They already cast a woman as The Engineer.
And the others?
Damn it
Pedo gunn has 0 fricking talent
