I think I read somewhere that giving birth on your back is actually 'unnatural' and increases the chance of multiple birth complications. On your knees is supposedly the correct way.

we put mothers on their back to help the doctors see the baby coming out. That way they can reach in to assist or see if anything is wrong with it like if the umbilical cord is wrapped around their necks. The doctor in the OP image is totally blind to what his hands are doing
It isn't. All birthing positions have their pros and cons. Birthing on your back is generally less stressful and exhausting on the mother than other positions.
With the position in the OP, you can't do that position if you get an epidural (something like three-fourths of women get an epidural), meaning you are going to experience all the "joys" of birth. Her face would be purple from all the pain she'd be feeling and she'd need more than just her hand held because those knees of her would be buckling. In fact holding her hand is moronic, she needs both arms to support herself.
I'm sure that's a good idea and that hospitals put women on their back when giving birth just because

Nightcrawler is no longer a lesson in how it's not what's on the outside that counts. As in, the dude who looks like a literal devil and seems sketchy is actually a deeply spiritual and kind man who believes in everyone's potential for redemption.
