yeah, how did the greater good mentality work out for lockdowns? oh right the thousands of businesses and livelihoods destroyed and the billions in increased corporate profits. Yet you will support them again
the whole aliens twist is not necessary. Every time I watch it I'm enjoying the pub crawl adventure drama, but then the aliens happen and I do not give a shit.
I'm guessing it was all part of the plan >be as conspicuous as possible >angel suspects you're the killer >he accuses you >humiliate him with hard evidence proving it wasn't you, making him look delusional and incompetent >the NWA goes completely unnoticed
Because it’s really fricking funny how incredibly suspicious he is throughout with seemingly nobody else other than Angel picking up on it at any point

Worlds End hits different when you turn 30
Rewatched it just after my birthday and realised it is just mega depressing looking back on how cool life was when you were young but how fast it went. That 17-21 bracket, fricking golden, I shall never see it’s like again
I was always pretty melancholic so it hit like that for me when I first watched it at age 22. At that point I already had friends who were stuck on their high school glory days. One was going around still telling people that he used to be "the Party King of ________ High School" years after graduation. But that theme of the best times being over always resonated with me. It's crazy how I was convinced it was over when I was 22, then looked back on that feeling when I was 25 and thinking I was an idiot to believe that but NOW that I was 25 it really was all over, then doing the same thing at age 27, etc. I never learn, I'm still doing it to myself right now.
He was self conscious about being chubby in the intervening years (gained extra weight for Big Nothing, still had it in MI3) and lost weight which made him healthier but look older and gaunt. Also he’d been balding since before Spaced. Which he was also self conscious about, hence going for wigs and a hair transplant in the years after this. Talented guy, very insecure.
At the time he did Hot Fuzz he’d only done the little Mission Impossible 3 role (insane to think that it was originally going to be Gervais) and the first Star Trek came a couple of years later. But yeah, he’s done alright
He looks so babyfaced in that. It’s weird that he got that gig as he wasn’t generally in serious stuff and definitely wasn’t on the Hollywood radar until a few years later. I guess every British actor of a certain age went for it
I still have a hard time seeing this as Rafe Spall. He looks so different compared to Hot Fuzz and all the other stuff he’s done since, like Prometheus and Jurassic World
Shocking to think there are people breathing on this earth who consider world's end the best of the 3
World's end is a marginally better effort than paul
Problem with World's End (the way I remember it) is that it takes too long to get going. Too much time is spent on "getting the lads back together" then everyone's being whiny and there's no humor in it at all. I think about a quarter of the movie or more is spent before anything even remotely amusing happens. And when it does start happening it's not really that ... idk.... it's too tonally incongruent. The first part is just lame and depressing, the pub stuff is just mildly amusing in a dull way and then the final alien part is ... like a generic episode of Dr Who.
The premise is okay, but it just needed more jokes and humor. It all felt like some contractual obligation that everyone was sleepwalking through.

Literally filtered.
>seething consequentialist
>you're bad because.... you judge actions based on their results instead of unverifiable claims of happiness or something
yeah, how did the greater good mentality work out for lockdowns? oh right the thousands of businesses and livelihoods destroyed and the billions in increased corporate profits. Yet you will support them again
>the outcome was bad so consequentialism is bad
consequentialism would say to do something else
>consequentialists
>law of unintended consequences
pick one
The town council literally did nothing wrong. Everyone they killed deserved it.
What about the lady trying to move away?
The florist lady that was going to sell her land to foreign investors? Most deserving of all.
It’s a perfect film.
no one asked homosexual
What a c**t.
one of the few mostly accurate depictions of rural uk living
Awesome britkino
why was the world's end so bad compared to the other two?
I like to pretend that and Neighborhood Watch exist in the same world.
Too much time passed so the humour of the director changed. I think this is why Spielberg films don't have that magic they had in the 80s.
I actually like The World's End.
the whole aliens twist is not necessary. Every time I watch it I'm enjoying the pub crawl adventure drama, but then the aliens happen and I do not give a shit.
i thought it was okay, i'm glad i watched it with absolutely no prior knowledge
It's just the one Black person, actually.
A JUDICIOUS APPLICATION OF BACON AND BEANS
Oh my fricking god bros I'm going to watch Hot Fuzz tonight, that's it.
>Your comfy quiet occult town gets disrupted by a stuck up Policeman
British towns would be saved if the village elders like that actually existed
Crusty Jugglers!
SEA MINE
Why would skinner use so many suggestive phrases which hinted at his role within the murders? Ego? to set in motion the plan to kill Angle?
I'm guessing it was all part of the plan
>be as conspicuous as possible
>angel suspects you're the killer
>he accuses you
>humiliate him with hard evidence proving it wasn't you, making him look delusional and incompetent
>the NWA goes completely unnoticed
the large ham swindle
i think probably the reason is that it's a comedy film
Because it’s really fricking funny how incredibly suspicious he is throughout with seemingly nobody else other than Angel picking up on it at any point
It just wasn't that funny.
I really like this movie. It's funny. Do you agree?
Shaun is the best of the Coronado trilogy, but they were all instant classics.
reddit take. HF is king.
REEEEEE REDDIT REEEEEEE
HF>Shaun>>>>>that other one
hot fuzz is a much better comedy, but I like shaun more as an overall movie. the whole london-suburbs daylight horror setting is quite unique.

Just have a midlife crisis and go get drunk and frick a bunch of prostitutes in Southeast Asia, that's what I plan to do in a couple years.
I would love to frick my way through Asia one day but I'll never have the money

MORNIN ANGLE
how did he age like 40 years after Shawn of the dead
Hollywood pedo rituals does a number on your soul.
He did a lot of star trek and mission impossible, gotta give him credit there even if they're slop
At the time he did Hot Fuzz he’d only done the little Mission Impossible 3 role (insane to think that it was originally going to be Gervais) and the first Star Trek came a couple of years later. But yeah, he’s done alright
He also had a tiny role in Band of Brothers, it's great to see him in a throwaway bit with his "Texan" accent.
He looks so babyfaced in that. It’s weird that he got that gig as he wasn’t generally in serious stuff and definitely wasn’t on the Hollywood radar until a few years later. I guess every British actor of a certain age went for it
He's also the paedo in the stocks in Brass Eye
triple vaxed.
