It's funny because after that moment he still feels compelled to save Reccoa despite her being a suicidal idiot and him being really thrown off by her behavior, and he's still utterly confused while he's carrying her back to the ship.
Newtypes on the cusp of awakening typically just go with it or are too ignorant to realize what's going on and awaken anyways. Yazan is the only case, at least from what I'm aware of, that had a moment where he could awaken and completely rejected it, kind of shoots a hole in that "it's an evolution thing" if you can just lolno it away.

Fa got burnt out by all the fighting, and from Kamille getting Scirocco'd. A lot of friendlies died in the final battle against the Titans, and then the exhausted Argama was expected to pick up the slack and smack Neo Zeon in round 2. Fa wasn't up for it, and Bright could tell that if she continued she'd just get herself killed.
Oh so FA got burnt out by all the fighting (did she even score a single kill in all of Zeta?) but YAZAN, the man who lead a team and consistently defeated superior machines through guile, experience and cunning who immediately lands in his escape pod and springs to work straight away without even eating first - tries to steal the Zeta multiple times and fails, "jobs"? He wasn't burnt out by the REAL fighting he did?

The fan theory back in the day was he had mild brain damage from oxygen deprivation after Kamille one-shotted him and he was stuck in an escape pod. Not really anything in the show suggests that's what they were going for though, he just turns into a much shittier version of Timp from Xabungle.
And yeah, Fa's track record in ZZ is pretty much the same as it was in Zeta. She's a survivor, not a fighter.

Most people who were regular pilots and didnt defect were tried and let off quite well. The entire Advance of Zeta team were given pardons for example.

So that's the AEUG one right? Since we know that one of them was dismantled and I figure they used the one AE studied and used to test the G-Defenser with was quickly used to repair Emma's Mk-II after the end of Zeta.

I mean way earlier in the manga they already established that the various custom Gelgoogs and the Heavy Gundam are already completely refurbished from the inside out. They still resemble the OYW designs they are on the outside but the internals are new which gives them exceptionally high performance.
The Mark II has less room for customization since movable frame is supposed to be just minimal armor on a skeleton frame, but hell for all we know it might as well be an enhanced replica, although the Mark II design is only ~3 years old at this point. The Nightseeker GM/Jegan hybrid felt like a downgrade since Yazan already had a Gaplant earlier in this manga, so I wanna see how well they treat the Mark II in this..
only thing I know about Yazan's mk-II is that AE gave him a Full Armor kit to go with the gundam. Can't find any free raws and even chinese scans are paywalled. Hoping someone spoils the ending at this point since it finished

You know I wonder if the Titans would've won the Gryps War if they didn't have their mini-civil war towards the end when Scirocco assassinated Jamitov. Scirocco's faction then mopped up anyone who opposed him, which lead Reccoa to fry Bask. It feels like they were shooting themselves in the foot when they still had Axis and the AEUG to deal with, though that's very in-tune for the Titans to do.
Doubtful, I think Axis had the numbers at the end of the war. Without Axis helping them or at least fricking off, they'll just get sandwiched.
Some of the Axis troops were vets but it seems like a lot of them in ZZ were poorly skilled new recruits. I want to say that even if the basic NZ grunt suit (Gaza-D? or would it be Dreissen?) was better than Hizacks and Marasais, their pilots might not be up to snuff in terms of training.
If they could focus on either the AEUG or Axis one on one without getting ganged up on or flanked by the other, they're likely to win. The main issue is dealing with the colony laser that the AEUG captured, but they'd probably be successful in either recapturing or disabling it since the canon events had the AEUG in complete tatters despite the Titans already being further weakened by their own civil war, as for Axis, and from what we saw in ZZ, Neo Zeon's military is a fricking clown shoes slapstick act.
What if the Titans weren't cartoonishly incompetent and evil and actually did what they talked about: killing Zeon/Zeon remnants.
They did, at first. They got hugely popular because they were good at their job, then they just kind of coasted on good publicity and kept their more sordid shit under wraps and fed the public a lot of bullshit that they were the good guys, even after the colony gassing coverup.
It's not like most Titans were even aware of how bad the organization could be, Emma didn't have serious doubts until she saw the organization's number two deliver an ass beating to one of the heroes of the OYW for no reason other than Bright telling Bask that they should have not held training exercises in a civilian sector.
The running theme in Gundam is that every single conflict has a mini-civil war or a coup or power grab right at the end of the war:

Problem was he just went full moron whenever Kamille was around. From Byarlant onwards had he gone up against almost anyone else in a 1v1 he would've come out on top but he refused to stop shooting himself in the foot.
Yazan is a great pilot but he's just a soldier. He rarely did anything without his squadmates and outside of suit superiority and sheer ruthlessness he didn't have much going on.
I'd compare him to OYW Char. He starts off ahead of everyone else because he sees something in the fight that no one else does but he doesn't grow.
Jerid was basically a clown for Kamille to punch around from time to time ever since the first punch, while Yazan pretty consistently made Kamille fear for his life since the first time he sortied and never stopped being a threat. Yazan was just a soldier, he stayed in his lane, and was great at it, while Jerid thought too highly of himself, and failed at nearly everything he did, that's why the former is remembered more fondly than the latter.

I feel bad for what they did to him in ZZ, he mostly gets treated as a joke. At least he gets a cameo later on instead of being homeless at the Federation party. I hope they do more with him in the future.
