Super Hero movies suffer from too much Deus Ex Machina and or Plot Weakening to Present Challenge to the Hero. They turn cliche too often to be memorable. Not granting your characters super powers does the plot good more often than not because their struggles are easily relatable.
Why would a filmmaker want to work with actors who feel they are "too good" for certain roles? All that says is that their ego is going to get in the way of their performances. You're vain idiots who play pretend for money, nobody gives a frick about your opinions.
