I thought his idea was "drop a piano on him" and that's why they're asking if he even has a piano. Instead he just sheepishly keeps pantomiming the cutting motion.
Creator probably didn't show him to build suspense. We all probably think it's some Batman parody but now we're invested after seeing these villains and more likely to stick around to see what's next.
Me too. Makes them seem almost like a force of nature, something so ubiquitous and powerful that a gang of such various abilities and power all would come together to plot their doom
blot's my favorite of the bunch exclusively for the sight gags. its such a brilliant use of the power set. he's like an evil plastic man but without any of the street smarts
>called Encyclopath >spiel is that he knows a lot of words, like a human thesaurus >a true encyclopath would know a bunch of world facts, a carmen sandiego type villain
>what sets him off is that, despite his vast vocabulary, he can’t come up with a good villainous portmanteau, thus the ‘psychopath’ part in encyclopath
that was truly impeccable. villain ideas on oar with the best of venture bros and animation that looks like its straight out of the wall. good shit OP thanks for sharing.
What do you guys think of the music scene with oragami? Still incredible and amazing but to be honest I preferred the rest of the short, I like the villains and the sound design better, maybe I’ve just scene too many bloody fight scenes with swing music.
What I really admire about the short is that all of the villains are the sort you'd find in old 50s and 60s comics, akin to Batman supervillains that would be admonished in following decades for being too silly or weird.
Except this feels genuinely refreshing; not a single one of the villains feels TOO beholden to a strict or popular villain archetype that they end up feeling forgettable. If anything, they have a lot of fun and individual character aspects that keep them feeling fresh and original. The wonderful pairing of unique personas mixed in with bizarre and unorthodox villain designs really makes this feel better than 99% of most capeshit.
Really comes across like the episode of a cape show from a world where comics culture never became too obsessed with "maturity", and embraced how strange and imaginative the characters could be.
Hey thanks guys for liking my short. It was really cool to read your feedback !
Embarrassingly enough, I'm a total attention prostitute, so I found this thread scrounging for validation after the film was stunted in views due to a reupload.
If you like it, there's more to come! Even "Red Eclipse" stuff, cuz people like it enough to pay me for it (and you should consider that too, even 1$ monthly on Patreon helps). The only question is how fast I can get it out. I have so many ideas!
I liked it
Neat.
Very fun short.
Origami's fighting style reminded me a lot of 2D Grievous.
I know, she’s like if tk greivous took to cirque du solais!
She’s also got his arms but like actually uses them as blades! Love it
Origami is a woman right?
Yes
Yeah, she’s got relatively prominent feminine attributes so I’d say so
Fixed that for ya
I hope so. I was sexually stimulated when she sawed that guy's brain out.
What do you think blot is trying to do here? Is he pulling his hair, rubbing his temples?
Sign language, maybe? Can anyone here confirm or deny this?
I thought his idea was "drop a piano on him" and that's why they're asking if he even has a piano. Instead he just sheepishly keeps pantomiming the cutting motion.
That makes more sense. On rewatch, I also thought he might be miming or shadowpuppeting a crocodile?
the blot thing reminds me of Double king
Which parts of double king?
the part when he dies and sits on the table with the other dead kings
I totally see that, they’re both quite expressive and active scenes
I can’t get enough of his wrinkly hairy flappy ass, he’s just so goofy
I expected the Red Eclipse to atleast make an appearance.

Also, Lady L makes me think of Chairface from the Tick show
Where does her neck end and the lamp begin? She probably has a mouth, right?
Which villain do you like the best and why is it the encyclopath?
He doesn’t get enough lines, which is totally in character but like I am still dessicating sans elevated outflow of this nabob’s loquacious verbiage

Blot is my favorite
He’s such a goofy little glob of nasty
I always love seeing villains doing mundane stuff
Oh my God yes, that’s like my favorite trope. What are some of your favorite examples?
nta but most of the ones I can think of either come from the tick or venture bros. the funeral for Captain Sunshine's nemesis comes to mind.
It was discussed a few days ago before it was bumped off by another off topic thread. Anyways, Jacobi's va is noticeably worse than everyone else.
True, hope that’s fixed if there is any later releases
this short has some great fricking expressions, especially from misconducts
He’s so emotive and wrinklehairy and shadowsome
that was truly impeccable. villain ideas on oar with the best of venture bros and animation that looks like its straight out of the wall. good shit OP thanks for sharing.
I hope we see more from this guy. I juat finished his earlier short now. The guys' real smart and talented.
Me too, already excited for his next release and he’s only just put out
This was great. Good action, good comedy, interesting characters.
Nicely done.
