I mean yes, Walter was moronic. The show never pretends otherwise.

Yeah I'm not sure what the point of this thread is.

yeah meanwhile walter worked decades as a lowly hs teacher and car washer while being belittled by his wife. his character makes no sense, either hes an egomaniac or a shy nerd, but they want us to believe its both

            >Mild mannered embittered pussy
That was kind of the impression I got of Walt. Like he's "a nice guy" because he's too broken to be an butthole.
As opposed to, say, Gus who genuinely was a nice guy who did right by his employees, or Hank who was an butthole but knew how to be fun about it.

It makes perfect sense though, there are people IRL who are just like that. He was always inwardly bitter and egotistical, those feelings just didn't manifest in his behavior because he lacked strength and confidence. He was cowardly and complacent. He found that strength when he became terminally ill.

People like you are literal vacuums of personal awareness, integrity, accountability or work ethic (not to mention walking HR nightmares) and if I had a business I would hire a damp sponge with googly eyes before I hired you.

To be fair israelites are evil and poor people are subhuman mental deficients that constantly vote agains their own interests. We desperately need to find a way to revive true democracy, i.e only allow landowning aristocratic men with a proper education control over the state and banish the disgusting peasantry back to the menial labor jobs that they are only good for.

Athenian democracy was a step in the correct direction.

                >foreigners have no political power and cant vote
                >children of foreigners and their descendants up to the fifth generation cant vote
                >women are kept as far away from politics as possible

The only fault was that poor athenians could vote and being shortsighted morons they always went after short term profits and anything that gave them immediate gratification, the future be damned. The US founding fathers improved this system by keeping the peasants in their place and not letting them vote. Unfortunately universal suffrage was implemented and the nation went into a state of terminal decline. After the serfs and other dregs of society got a hold of power, it was only a matter of time before women and foreigners got a hold of the mechanisms of state power. And here we are today, in the last era of a dying empire. It could have been wonderful.

It was always a bit of both. His shyness kept his ego in check. Once he got cancer and started taking more risks because he was dying anyway, he began to really realize his worth when he made millions in the drug business. This made his ego start to spiral out of control.

The cancer he had is always terminal and the likelihood was that the chemo would have just made him feel worse for longer. No no being a HS teacher makes sense.
Remember, walt would rather be the big fish in a little pond, than to work as equals with other geniuses.

Walt gave up his company because he's delusional.
He also felt that submitting himself to working underneath another company would have hurt his pride even more, since his would be peers would recognize who he was and never let him live it down.
He chose to be a high school chemistry teacher because nobody in his field would recognize him, and he'd get to enjoy being the smartest person in the building.

This is the fault of Walter. His core character flaw. He's a geniuses Savant but he won't make the right decisions that makes him lots of money. He'll make stupid decisions because he uses stupid nerd logic.

    >wake up Timmy! We need to visit the doctor today in Canada, and that means lining up outside the clinic at 1am so you can reserve a spot for the day when they open at 8am

If you don't wait in line before the clinics open, you don't get seen that day, period
Emergency rooms have 24+ hour waits and people literally die waiting to get scene while a million smelly muslims and pajeets are all around you basically going there to get free cold medicine

To be fair we’re mostly being flooded with Hindus, sikhs and whatever bug beliefs the Chinese hold. Muslims are just an added bonus

its hilarious how stupid people here are. they vote for the conservatives, the conservatives stop construction of hospitals and slash budgets, doctors and nurses flee to greener pastures, then everyone, like the absolute frickiong SHEEP they are, complains about the healthcare system being broken and cheers when the politicians chop it up and sell it to the highest private bidder believing that will magically fix the situation, like cattle cheering their own slaughter

god i hate double digit IQ conservatives so much.

yeah, there were so many potential points of failure in that plan, but it was a set piece for the biggest emotional payoff of the show so I still enjoyed it

Walt's motivation is his ego. Anything else is nothing but justifications for deplorable behavior and/or headcanon.

He had various motivations throughout the show. Regarding the specific part of the show referenced by OP, yeah, it was his ego. But that doesn't mean ego = bad, or pride = bad. His refusal is understandable. Only a midwit soi would think it was stupid or bad writing.
