The use of those things can also just be to engage the mind and feel satisfaction at creating something or at least following the instructions and having patience to build something. I disagree with your insults and perspective on things, but I do agree that I think there are more rewarding hobbies than Lego (at least from my perspective).
I personally grew up playing with Lego, but as I got older I got more frustrated with how restrictive it was. It forces you to get creative, but it was also not satisfying if you want to build something without having specific pieces existing. I see the value in building/playing with Lego and you can do some impressive things with the pieces alone. It really depends on what you want to get out of it. I don't think its fair to judge others for wanting to play/build with Lego at any age- it is a harmless hobby like many others.

I guess I would admit that you can't get out of lego what you can get out of all those other art mediums, and as an obsession it can kind of be spendy and not give you as much room to artistically grow as those other things, but as a pass time I think it's a fine hobby to have if it makes you happy. I know myself I've felt proud finishing some lego sets, but not as much as when I finish a picture or digital drawing that came mostly from my own brain.
