are actually turning against the MCU

Do you have any evidence to back this off Doctor Strange second movie was playing for months in a movie theater like 40 minutes away from my house in Canada.

When WandaVision turned out to be a big hit I thought Feige was invincible, but it turned out that he'd accidentally (because there was nothing else finished due to the pandemic) started off Phase 4 with the most interesting project he had.

Some of this may be the scrambling and last-minute rewrites and tension during the pandemic lockdown. (WandaVision's last episode is the weakest and it's also the one that needed the most work after lockdown.) Doctor Strange 2's story was thrown out and replaced with an almost completely new story during the pandemic lockdown and I have a feeling that maybe they approved some things via Zoom they wouldn't have face to face.

The big tell is that CinemaScore, the company that polls audiences on their reactions to movies, got a B+ score for both Doctor Strange 2 and Thor 4. That's really low for a Marvel blockbuster. The only other MCU movies that got below an A- are Eternals (B) and, for some reason, Thor 1 (B+).

They're still making money, it's just the script problems are obvious enough that people are noticing them. Even critics, who grade these movies on a curve, have been like"this script is the weak link" for the last two films.

Every studio across the board struggled due to Pandemic shittery. Disney arguably struggled least. It's streaming has been gaining the most ground of it's rivals, and it's movies still dominate the top 10 box office.
Even Shang-Chi would have been the #1 domestic movie that year if NWH (another MCU movie) hadn't came in at the tail end of the year (and Covid).
        Seems fine to me.

Yeah, I don't think it's like Star Wars where they nearly burned down the movie franchise. Two movies with weak scripts are not the end of the world if they can get back some quality control, maybe woo back some of the older writers and directors.

Star Wars is long past it's expiration date. It's a drag on the genre at this point, long past due for a fresh flavor to take over in popularity.

The prestige is wearing off and will make people not watch shit unless they're absolutely interested in it. Who's watching Ms. Marvel?
In Phase 3, people watched whatever the frick just because it was leading into Endgame.

          Yes, I can. Absolute moron.
          Falcon did better than Wanda.
Loki did better than Wanda and Falcon.
Moon Knight did better than Hawkeye and Wandavision.

I went last night. Place was full. Why do you want it to fail so badly? What exactly do you want out of life in general?

In your dreams, dctard. Thor will make billion easily. And Wakanda Forever is going to be the biggest film of the year by far. Nothing stops the MCU hype train!

      >big movie opens big
Yeah, then the second weekend happens and then the movie has no legs and it'll end up grossing less than Ragnarok, fricking idiot

Every big movie is opening big but very few have the legs, and it's also worth mentioning that it was estimated to open around 150-160m, but since the WOM was negative it dropped to 140m

        Nice cope moron

It also was estimated at making 300 million worldwide and since WoM was positive it raised another 2 million

        It was originally 160-180

One of the things I see people getting fed up with is the undercutting of dramatic moments with jokes/quips. It's like MS is huffing their own farts at this point.

I wish people would stop watching MCU movies ironically then. I've been unable to get Thor tickets all weekend due to them selling out.
Last showing Sunday has a few seats in the very front corners, crapola seats.

Audiences don’t care because they too many people are invested. People only fight over box office shit because of Black Panther and Captain Marvel and Aquaman were making billions before the pandemic. That’s not really the norm. It’s just a Phase 3 thing. Even The Batman didn’t crack 800m and that’s fricking Batman that people dick sucked like crazy. I doubt Strange would’ve made much more than Batman if it was just oh yeah, it’s Doctor Strange fighting Mordo instead of a multiversal driven movie. We’re just back to more reasonable levels of performance.

If Strange had opened in China (like The Batman) it would have joined Aquaman and BP and Capt. Marvel in the billion dollar club rather easily.

Strange 2? Sure, but not every MCU film is gonna be some multiverse fiesta. My point is that normal cape movies shouldn't be expected to make a billion regularly just because it happened some years back before Endgame. Before that, really only Iron Man 3 and event moves did a billion.

I love these threads because when I see all of the smug comments like
    >MCU IS FINISHED
    >fans are turning on it!!
    >capeshit is done!
    >What went wrong?
    >ect
it just tells me Anon is a twelve year old, because clearly they don't understand the unprecedented run of 15+ years that Marvel had. Imagine a single studio running with that level of dominance for that long, ffs they have like 4 movies that have broken a billion dollars lmao

Dude, people have been saying "idk kinda sick of this mcu stuff" every time they stumble for over a decade. Is it possible that they've finally stretched it dry and will lose the public's interest? Sure. Do I buy it? no lol

Normalgays aren't going to turn on the MCU. It is practically their religion at this point. The only way this ends is if it somehow becomes 'uncool' then they will move onto the next brain dead blockbuster franchise. The critical reception and quality of the movies doesn't mean shit.
