>visually completely reworked in a good way
>Cast a prettyboy to play Kakihara and gave him an effay wardrobe in contrast to the ugly bastard Kakihara from the manga
>Was faithful to the original storyline where it counted

>(mostly) a visually beautiful movie
Cons:
>Completely dumpstered the end fight between Ichi and Kakihara in favor of a 2 second bout where Kakihara just gets kicked off a roof
>2 specific instances with laughably bad visual effect
>All of the grotesque edgy shit that made the manga memorable was cut out leaving a mildly violent movie instead
