The Netflix adaption is the reason why I ever got into one piece, i knew about the anime and the comics for years but never really looked into it, anime just isn't for me, i understood who these characters are because of the Netflix show.
I liked it.
No, anime isn't for me neither are japanese comics.
Also I learned from my experience with the sandman, after watching the first season i read both volumes 1 - 4.
And i completely despise season 1 for how much they butchered volumes 1-3
here's what i think is good from them and also made by them not by someone else: >Queen's Gambit >Narcos >Dahmer >Mindhunter >Wednesday
There are a few more that are entertaining like Stranger Things but wouldn't call them great

And if they can't introduce it in new episodes or seasons, they make a remake just to sink and destroy it for sake of being able to.
They just churn out one mediocre or bad show after another. You'd think will all the stuff they put out that they'd accidentally make a few good shows.
They're not supposed to even make original shit. They're supposed to be a subscription service to stream DVDs. They're always going to make shit shows because they all follow the same formula and diversity hire protocol.
while you're right that they existed to give us existing material to watch, the diversity hire protocol didn't kick in until after trump was elected. before then any original content was allowed to have whomever they so desired cast in their content.
Between Two Ferns: the movie came out in 2019. Some disgusting sheboon named Jiavani was lumped into the cast as a sassy desired wise virtuous leader that had zero comedic timing and acting skills
they have made a couple good things, but their success rate is unbelievably bad especially considering the literal billions they've spent on shows and movies
