on social media people show off their ideas for characters for their show/comic/game that they "want to make" but never do, because its easier to have an "idea" of a character than to actually make a product with them.
people will follow you waiting for updates and see more allowing you to sell trash merch and get lots of likes and "fan art", because if the character becomes the next flavour of the month bowsette, you can get so much money and attention from that.
