Walken has aged out of every role and it's time for him to hit the retirement home. Zendaya will never fit any role and it's time for her to retire from the public eye. I'd suggest she saves what money she has and quits while she's ahead, because she couldn't act her way out of a paper bag.

I feel like Walken was intentionally out of place. There’s all this prestige and mystery about him and then he’s just this strange old man.
You had to qualify this by saying you arent racist before anything else and then threw in a walken as a token on top of that lmao
Walken was perfect for the role. The emperor needed an actor who was instantly recognizable and even a little goofy to make up for his lack of screen time. The payoff at the end with him kissing Paul's ring would not have worked otherwize.
Disagree. Like Chani, he is hardly the same character at all. While in the books he comes across as an old man in a suspiciously young body, trapped between several powerful forces he must carefully balance, in the movie he just comes off as senile
There's no time in a 2.5hr movie to include Fenring. This should never have been a movie.

That's how he is in the first book too after Paul get his prescience. Paul even gets sad about how his friend became a kind of lapdog.
A gradual process that takes place over years not an afternoon. In the scene where he kills Jamis, Stilgar is impressed but not fawning over him. By part 2 he's practically in love.
And its less that stilgar jumps for joy any time Paul does something, it's more that he doesn't question his authority or his plans. He develops a blind trust for him

obviously chani was godawful but christopher walken was certainly miscast and didn't have enough dialog to sell the character, removing count fenring was a grave mistake because their interactions were some of my favorite scenes in the 2nd half of the book, especially when emperor tries to tell Fenring to kill Paul after Paul has already won the fight and Fenring says something like "its over my old friend" after he does his mentat calculation of the possibility of killing Paul quickly
I haven't seen it yet, how far into the movie do they play that Fatboy Slim song?
