Great soundtrack too, DJ Krush in the counting money scene. At the 40min mark you can hear DJ Krush Kemuri from the album Strictly Turntablized from 1994. Funny enough he has songs in Blade too and goes uncredited in both movies.

why do people jerk off this movie so much when only the street shootout scene is memorable? and it's not even THAT good. yeah the guns sound loud af and the tactical reloads are nice ig but it's still the same shoot at nothing crap you can find in any other mediocre action movie.
seriously watch it again and tell me with straight face you actually enjoyed it from beginning to end. shit's more of a boring soap opera than a heist movie. do that, and then watch collateral. the actual best mann film.

very few movies can hold my attention these days. i rewatched heat again the other night. captivated the whole fricking time. felt like a 30 minute episode and i was left wanting so much more.
truly incredible movie. de niro's performance is top notch and i don't even like him. he mogs pacino so hard it's not even funny.
the ending scene where he stays stoic as he backs away from his girl and turns away is powerful
can't say enough good things about this masterwork. it has everything, double crosses, heists, paramilitary urban warfare, best cast of all time, a literal serial killer who strikes a friendship with the authorities like in manhunter.
also forgot to mention natalie portman in a great childhood performance
