if a show has bad pacing, it doesn't matter how short it is, it will be bad. A show can be 10 minutes long each episode and having 9 minutes of literally nothing with 1 minute of good stuff won't save the show.
If that was true then it'd expand our dating pool. But instead it's like computers, any "woman" into it is really a man. And not even a cute one either.
The rise of internet, the idea of the world web, which back then was as exciting as it was somewhat mysterious, the whole analog to digital conversion that was happening worldwide in the late 90s, plus some paranoia and aesthetics

I saw the first episode for the first time yesterday and it’s fricking based. Quiet and moody. I love it. Respond to me because I’m alone and I just want to hear someone hear my voice
It’s like silent hill 2, in the sense that it has fans because they see a 5 second clip of it and it looked cool but noone actually watched it
also literal troony anime
I liked how imo its probably the most accurate portrayal of autism and disassociation in any media, even if they're not explicitly identified as such. Also I like how it mingles sci-fi with gnosticism and its overall tone. My enjoyment of it is more experiential than narrative based.
It's not popular, it's well known. The reason is because it's good and an interesting argument against Gnostic thinking. It highlights the importance of our physical forms and serves as a warning against getting wrapped up in the then emerging digital landscape.
>why is this popular
I don't know about popular, but I loved it at the time because I got to experience it in the 90s when technology like the internet was barely becoming popular in the common household. I also got to experience it in arguably the best format possible, the in silicone valley where tech news was exploding around us, and (seemingly by magic) on public access television very late at night basking in the warm glow of my crt television set.
that shit changed my life and, ironically, shit like this and bebop prevented me from becoming a weeb by spoiling me with top tier anime and subsequently making me refuse to consume anything of lower standard or made beyond the 90s or early 00s at worst.
You don't seem to understand.
As funny as this is (came to post it myself) it is the correct answer. The song is the whole reason for its popularity

& u dont seem 2 understand
You mean there are no experiments?
Yeah, I tried watching this and everything was just so drawn out that I tuned out. Fix the pacing and condense it down then it would be a good show.
>13 episodes at 20 minutes each
>It's too long
Zoomer having trouble with his attention span again.
If something isn’t good ie your troony anime it’s not worth watching even for 10 seconds. have a nice day

These are not a thing. Can you redditBlack folk stop saying this shit
I liked when I thought it's a comfy show about girl hacker fetishizing 90s hardware / software scene.
I also liked Twin Peaks when it was just a comfy murder mystery.
I hate complex plots.
I watched at 1.5x speed and it was a lot better. Still pretty slow tho.
itt chuds don’t get lain.
SHOCKING.
SUPRISING.
Go back to Boats, Steroid Hero Journey Boy and deep /misc/cel intellectual films like Lady Ballers.

Because 14-17 year olds saw it and it felt deep.
It isn't popular outside of these spaces.
