Actual little kids anon, if lighyear was Buzz beating aliens and screaming to infinity and beyond like hero from the 80’s kill would be loving it, the kids wouldn’t matter
I never purposefully saw any of these movies. My mother-in-law loves the whole series so we watched Despicable Me one visit. Watched Minions on a different visit. Another family trip I was visiting my nieces and nephews. They love these movies too so we watched Despicable Me 2 one day and Despicable Me 3 the next day.
I have to say, even though I never cared enough to check these out on my own the entire series is funny and kino and I'll definitely watch these with my kids when they get a little bit older. I kind of want to see Minions: Rise of Gru on my own tbqh.
Hot take, I like the idea of the minions.
The lore of them helping the most evil person or whatever. I don't think it's most evil because they helped Napoleon.
But I think it's funny to have little autistic beans running around and planning the conquest of Europe.
Shark Tale was the first animated film she produced and the only one from Dreamworks. She joined Illumination once it was founded, and has produced all of their films so far

Saw it with my wife and kid today, it was cute and the theater was packed. We saw lightyear opening day and this was like going to maverick in comparison, it should do quite well.

They pussied out when they put the minions in a cave so it wouldn't be implied that they helped hitler
