What's hilarious is that most people unironically believe this which is how the vast majority of crimes get solved. Probably why the reason why public schools have fingerprint taking days and days for army recruiters to come talk to the children and lots of rhetoric about the holocaust but simply not enough time to educate children on their civil rights as US citizens facing down law enforcement. Imagine how even more useless the cops would become if every dumb Black person in the country suddenly realized they can simply not tell on themselves

maybe this is for the best

          Anonymous

Name anybody in society that sees a net benefit from "civil rights". You can't, because society is zero sum. You always have more enemies than friends so if something is "good for everyone", it is volumetrically bad for everyone since more enemies than friends see benefits from it, ergo anything that's everyone's right is actually an opportunity for more people to do you harm.

            Anonymous

This. Society should equally shit on everyone like under communism, because by harming everyone equally, each individual wins exactly as much as everyone else is harmed, meaning the amount of good done is infinite.

armchair lawyers are being pedantic, but the real answer is simple.
you deny any wrongdoing, ask for a lawyer to be present, and clearly state your refusal to answer any questions without your lawyer being present.
then you can plead the fifth all you want, you don't plead the fifth without doing those things.

Common misconception. The 5th Amendment that guarantees your inalienable right to a speedy and fair trial, that your private property cannot be seized without compensation, and the right against self incrimination. What the Judge is mentioning are the Miranda Rights from the 1970s, which is why you hear cops say "You have the right to remain silent-" when arresting someone, as part of your 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination.

The girl was whoring herself out and threatening to call law enforcement on dudes when she revealed she was underage and had just sent them nudes or whatever. She was an immature little shitbag of a person but she didn't deserve to die. I can easily see why he did it but after she made it clear he had no one to blame for himself for continuing to pursue her and trying to get someone who isn't interested in him focused solely on him. He took her life and will never get out and that's what's gay about the whole thing. I've seen cases where girls kill other girls, do 10 years, change their names and continue their lives. I was confusing Matt Orchard with that little pencil neck homosexual with the glasses who feels like he has to crack a "joke" about the events of the case as he provides a breakdown interspersed with footage of him standing in front of a green screen talking so it switches to his ugly fricking mug like every 9 seconds from the actual footage you want to see. yeah nah, I remember watching some video about a murderer child who the "pros" diagnosed with early onset schizophrenia (which is exceedingly rare and schizos are rarely violent) just because she claimed she heard voices in her head and acted weird in the interrogation room.

Doesnt take a phd to know that children dont know the difference between their own internal dialoge and hearing voices and her weird behavior is just because she is a 11 year old girl, bored out of her mind being in a room for 5-6 hours, completely emotionally detached from it all because she is a psychopath with poor grasp of action and consequence.

The schiziphrenia diagnosis was obviously pushed by her defence to get some sort of psychosis insanity plea.

Everyone is different. But the eyes are the windows to the soul and the hands are the windows to the intent, if that makes sense. You can see people's pulse too, which can be helpful. For example, if someone goes all in in a huge pot, whether they or bluffing or have the nuts, their pulse is going to rise. The difference is, when they have the nuts, if you just wait 30-60, it tends to lower again. Whereas if they are bluffing, it stays elevated. Also, most people lean forward when they are weak and lean back when they are strong. Timing tells are a big thing too. If the final card gets dealt and it changes the nuts and the person just insta shoves all in, 9/10 its a bluff. Bet size tells can be big too. These are all very basic. Any pro doesn't do these things.

This is the single best thing you can say if you are in an interrogation like this:

    >look, I did not do anything, I'm innocent. But I've heard plenty stories of innocent people being pushed to false confessions during interrogations like these. And wrongfully convicted for a crime they did not commit. So for that reason, I will say nothing more but this: "I want a lawyer".

I can definitely believe a couple of meathead officer maggot types would lock somebody's ass in a cell for a couple of extra days to see if they start talking, law be damned. The law says you can detain anybody who is mentally ill because they could be considered a threat to himself and the public. So in any event any cop can detain anybody on a whim because any kind of aversion to authority can be interpreted as a dangerous mental illness.

That’s cause they don’t follow protocol. Almost no one does; people really think they can talk their way out of it, but it never works, and you will always say something to incriminate yourself. That’s all they need, if they’re in a cell then they’re being held on suspicion of the crime or another one.

It’s illegal under any circumstance, but probably the biggest reason that your lawyer would never rat on you is because they’d be destroying their entire career to do it. In some of the most extreme “this guy 100% for sure murdered 10 children” type cases the state assigned lawyer will pretty much just say that they’re going to try to present all the facts of the case so that the jury can make the best decision, but even then they couldn’t use anything said between the lawyer and client as evidence.

        Anonymous

EVERYONE deserves a fair trial. that is the basis of a fair system. if the prosecution cannot get the jury to convict the defendant that is their failure to present the facts and plead their case. defense attorneys are not responsible for guilty men walking free, the incompetence of the prosecutor is.
that being said, lawyers are not allowed to lie so telling your lawyer you did the crime limits their options in terms of what they're allowed to tell the court. you should answer their questions and tell them anything you think they should know (truthfully of course) but never outright confess to the crime.

This is the single best thing you can say if you are in an interrogation like this:
    >The charges, officer?

    Anonymous

    >Ok Mike what I’m gonna do now is start talking and I’m not gonna stop I’m gonna keep saying words and sentences and I’m not gonna take a breath or rather I will be taking breaths but only very quickly and in between words because as I said I’m going to be talking nonstop and that’s what I’m here to do now you are sitting there and I’m gonna go ahead and just keep talking without stopping now there might be times when it seems like I’m gonna stop but like I said that’s not what I’m here to do I’m here to talk in a monotone voice and I’m not gonna stop alright? Now I see that you’re wearing blue and I’m willing to bet that you wish you wore red but it’s not that simple now listen to my creaky chair and I’m gonna keep talking I’m not gonna stop and I can hear the crinkle of that blanket and I’m gonna have to tell you that’s actually a large piece of paper but we call it a blanket we don’t get real blankets because it’s not really worth it in the budget and I’m just gonna keep saying stuff and you might think I’m gonna stop but actually I’m gonna go ahead and just keep talking and keep talking is what I’m about now you you’re not a bad guy I can see that and I don’t think you’re some kind of monster. There’s no doot in my mind that you did it, ok? No doot in my mind at all. Are you some kind of monster? This was a mistake right Mike? This was a mistake right? Mike. Right? You’d take this back right? Mike? Mike? I know you’re not a monster, are you a monster? You haven’t touched your doughnut.

It's supposed to, but I have seen many body cam videos of cops violating people's civil rights.
You only have to let them into your house if they have a warrant, or reasonable suspicion (which is legally more strictly defined then you would initially suspect). They can't just bs some suspicion most of the time.

I enjoy watching body cams and audits more than these moron criminals incriminating themselves in interrogation rooms.

Maybe I’m just a good goy whitey but every interaction I’ve had with police was positive

    >pulled over a few times while driving in 1-3 am
    >they ask if I’ve been drinking
    >say no
    >they just say ok, thanks. Then let me go (assume they didn’t smell booze or weed so didn’t bother breathelizer or further checks)

    >drunk/high guy started following me after he got kicked out of a night club, was worried he was gonna mug me or something
    >saw cops on corner, told them. They told me to keep walking and they’d detain him for a talk for a few minutes to see what’s up. He immediately started trying to attack them and they restrained him. Turned out he was mentally ill, drug addicted, was definitely gonna mug me

    >uncle killed himself and I found him
    >went into shock because I found him
    >called the police, an unnecessary ambulance and everything
    >cops insisted on staying with me until other family could come from states away, so literally 10+ hours because they didn’t want me to be alone

only had one bad interaction with police, but being polite about it made them leave me alone

      >step outside and close door behind me
      >they ask if there are drugs or anyone is in immediate danger

      >they ask me more questions
      >say "i'm not comfortable answering more questions, can I go back inside?"

It would be insanely easy to get away with a murder where you gain nothing and have no connection to the person. Leave your phone at home, drive a few hours in a random direction, find an isolated person going for a walk in a rural area, shoot them and take the shell with you. No motive, no evidence, no connection. Only way you’re getting caught is 1 in a million chance they track you by your car but even that could be eliminated with proper planning. Not really any benefit to doing this kind of thing though which is why almost all murders are done for personal or financial reasons.

        Anonymous

I was about to post this exact same thing, a normal person committing a random murder with a tiny bit of planning is essentially impossible to solve. Of course, normal people don't murder other people or commit crimes in general, so if you did do this you'd likely be inclined to continue killing and eventually be caught.

      Depends on who you kill.
Most of these people are psychotic cowards who kill the easiest targets they have: their family.

It's rare to find one that targets someone in a justice killing.
The cases on YT is basically "I did it cause I could"

Best advice I've heard is the less you touch the body the better.
Don't kill a guy, and then drag them into your house, leaves a trail and your fingerprints would cover the entire crime scene.
Best is to break in, shoot the guy, and then leave. Don't touch anything, don't steal anything, a quick job that leaves as little evidence as possible. Drive bys are pretty effective but this requires to have a driver, which is dangerous. Do it alone. Don't have any loose ends.
      All in minecraft of course

Cops do not care about why you did something. They only care about if.

You will not outsmart a trained investigator.

You have a right to remain silent.

Cops have a legal right to lie to you.

There are tons of innocent men and women in prison because they talked too much. There are tons of guilty men and women in public because they didn't.

If you're ever in an interrogation and they get you a drink, make sure to stuff the cup/can in your pocket and rinse it before throwing it out. Cops are notorious for stealing DNA samples from cups and cans used by detainees and trying to match them with the database to see if they pin crimes on them.
