Now, I admire Cassius Clay, I do...

What I admire is - in his sport there's an element of true combat. When Cassius Clay meets Sonny Liston in the ring, that's not two athletes posturing....
    That's combat.
Two men trying to kill each other right now.
If you don't beat him, he kills you. That's beyond athletics. That's beyond 'Wide World of Sports,' you know. That's two warriors engaged in combat. That's what I admire. In martial arts tournaments, they won't let you fight like that. It's very frustrating. You stand in front of a guy, you just want to let him have it!
    WATAAH
    But you can't.

So, you got to do this play-acting patty cake version. Cassius Clay, Sonny Liston, Joe Luis. The colored boxer, not that White kickboxing butthole. They do what they need to do to win. They unleash as much punishment as they have to - to defeat the other guy. But, in martial arts tournaments, I do to win what they do to win. I unleash all my power. I kill people

      Anonymous

      >But, in martial arts tournaments, I do to win what they do to win. I unleash all my power. I kill people
Everything up until this point was correct. This part, however, is just Tarantino setting up his stupid self insert to beat up Bruce because of his irrational hatred for Bruce. Bruce did admire Ali and mimicked his movements. That floaty, dancy stuff that Bruce is known for comes straight from Muhammad Ali. Bruce also did heavily criticize americans for looking to eastern martial arts while completely ignoring what he felt was the more effective western boxing. Bruce was also interested in Grappling, contrary to reddit myth, which is why he included it in the opening scene of Enter the Dragon. He wasn't an expert, but if he had lived longer, he most likely would have incorporated it into his martial arts system more thoroughly. Overall, only uninformed tryhard dumbfricks continually smear Bruce by regurgitating lies they read about him on reddit. On a side note, the primary reason Bruce was so shredded was his drug use.

        >Bruce also did heavily criticize americans for looking to eastern martial arts while completely ignoring what he felt was the more effective western boxing.

Bruce Lee may have felt that way, but his films were largely responsible for convincing generations of Americans to ignore boxing and wrestling and take up bullshit like karate and TKD.

I'm not mad because I don't give a frick, but I'm curious about the thinking behind this. Did Tarantino just hate Bruce Lee for some reason and wanted to shit on him?

That's it. I'm sick of all this "Chad Pitt" bullshit that's going on in Tarantino films right now. Bruce Lee deserves much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I'm talking about. I myself trained in Jeet Kune Do under the Hong kong masters, costing me 2,400,000 HKD (that's about $20,000) and have been practicing it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid steel with my fists.

Bruce Lee spent years working on martial arts and trained his body to produce the finest warrior known to mankind.

Bruce Lee was thrice as powerful as any white fighter and thrice as fast for that matter too. Any fight a whte guy could get into, Bruce Lee could win better. I'm pretty sure Bruce Lee could easily take down a fully armed U.S Marine with a simple punch.

Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered conquering China? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Jeet Kune Do warriors and their martial arts of destruction. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted the martial artists first because their killing power was feared and respected.

So what am I saying? Bruce Lee is simply the best warrior that the world has ever seen, and thus, requires better representaion on film.

Here is the rewrite I propose for that scene:

Brad Pitt: Think 'yer tough huh?
Bruce Lee: I am sorry you felt the need to challenge me, white man. You will regret your error
[Jabs him directly in the throat, incapacitating him]
    [END SCENE]

Now that seems a lot more representative of the power of Bruce Lee in real life, don't you think?

tl;dr = Bruce Lee needs to do more damage in Tarantino films, make it happen Hollywood.

The visuals, cinematography, score and yes, his acting are good. It's also got the best message of any Hollywood movie in a very long time as well. If more people would take the movies advice the world would be a better place. It's just a complete and perfect movie. It really shows who is low IQ if they don't like it.
