I got into a brawl at the yearly town rodeo last week. Lost my crown. Don't remember what started it really, just remember going to the watering hole after and seeing a couple other fights go on.
moron, you kick above their knee. It's called an oblique kick, or push-kick above the knee. Also, angle your foot slightly sideways so it doesn't roll off their leg, which would result in you basically just stepping forward into them.
I've always just left the situation before it escalated into a fight. I'm one of those homosexual pacifists where even if you hit me I'll just walk away before I fight back.
I was in a lot of fights in school because i was a thin skinned autist but by the time I got to highschool it generally pitters out
Outside of literal abused kids and larping preppies the only people who go out of their way to participate in violence decreases exponentially when you go into real life
Apparently they were right. Tarantino said on joe Rohan’s podcast that there was a book about how Bruce Lee was a dick who would always be needlessly rude to American stunt men and tag them for real because he was an egotistical bully.
But there was some interview with the author of the book and he said that wasn’t true. What really happened is that Bruce didn’t like American stunts Bc it was way too fake looking. He changed the entire industry by making punches much closer, which did make it more likely someone was accidentally hit for real
Tarantino just lied about him. This scene and Tarantino's subsequent interviews about it make it seem like he has some deeply personal issues with Bruce Lee. It wasn't *just* a movie scene where they wanted Bruce Lee to act like a gay as part of Brad Pitt's backstory; Tarantino was legitimately angry about this perfectly normal humble dude he'd never met, based on a misinterpreted story he heard second hand.
It's not "dick riding" to call out typical Hollywood revisionism.
Bruce Lee was a known butthole. He regularly cheated on his wife (and was doing so when he died) and was tremendously arrogant in his private and professional life, particularly those he considered beneath him. I don't really care either way but the Bruce Lee nuthugging by moronic Americans is pretty dumb.
Say what you want about his fighting skills but he was scary strong for a guy of his (small) size. Couple that with him saying he'd beat Cassius Clay being the exact opposite of what happened in real life and it being a weird 180 from Tarantino's past films paying homage to Lee (like the bride wearing his suit from Game of Death it just comes off as really odd. I wouldn't say I idolize him, but he's an inspirational character even if you do away with the whole "father of MMA" thing. His approach towards fitness was interesting and his death was premtaure. Yes, I was offended, not because I'm a chink, but because I'm a fellow manlet.
It's literally Cliff fantasizing about bullshit because outside of his macho persona he doesn't have much that doesn't rely on DiFaprio's character
Each of the three main characters in the film is dealing with their personal insecurities
Am I the only one who thinks the scene wasn't insulting to Bruce Lee and was actually respectful to him? The point of it was to show how overpowered Cliff was. He could stand toe-to-toe with Bruce Lee. Their sparring ended in a 1-1 draw.
Look stop trying to analyze so deep into was bruce lee a dick or whatever and tarantinos theories
All you have to know is that he was a tiny dude that would get rekt by any normally size male. Nothing even to do with asian, cause the asian dude from bloodsport would throw brad pitt across the room
When this came out it was at the peak of the asian cope on Cinemaphile and i just keked so hard at the seething and the "NO BRAD PITTERU" threads. Good times bros.
What if he and the white dude who liked Asian girls became friends and they helped each other get Asian/White gfs? Wouldn't that have solved all the problems?
>be bruce lee fan >kinda upset at this scene. >understand that although this is a work of fiction and that the actor did a very good job, it was still uncharacteristic of bruce lee and tarantino was moronic about him >listen to all the bruce lee defenders from his daughter to all his associates >literally every single one of them uses "white man" disparagingly to diss tarantino, as if that was the reason he kinda shat over bruce lee >don't give a frick anymore
What makes you think hes different from any other celeb? he was a superstar at the time so yes he was 100% and butthole and Gorilla Gene LeBell kicked his ass
Cliff was an butthole in this situation and he also fricked over Kurt Russel by making him look bad for giving Cliff a chance. Thats why he chuckles after the memory in a way like "man Im a frickup". Then he saves the day at the end, its called a redemption arc
I think people just hear that the scene happened and without context it seems to celebrate it too much but hes supposed to look bad
It's how he envisions like the only people who would have caused him problems or reprimanded him were people he'd already had bad experiences with or people he didn't respect
In the fantasy he sees himself as the badass when in reality it's so warped and juvenile, that's the point of the character
he's someone whose life entirely relies on other people and his inflated masculinity is all he has left to hold on
I guess I can see how youd get that but dont other characters allude to his situation with The Green Hornet? I just cant imagine Quentin doing a dream sequence because it would completely take away from the story because couldnt it all be explained away then? Was him visiting the ranch and punching out the guy a dream? Him saving the day a dream? I never got the idea that he was emasculated, more that he was coming to terms with how his type of character was a dying breed. He always solved his problems without thinking, and with violence. But Hollywood doesnt want him anymore and he cant keep a woman and even his best friend is distancing himself. He doesnt regret it because he cant change.
Well it's in the same vein as the sequences with Tate going to the movie theater to watch the audience's reaction to her and Rick lamenting his prior hits and missed chances and losing his shit in the trailer and reading about the busted cowboy
The movie is literally Tarantino's most human film and it's really weird to me that it went over peoples' heads and seemed more nonsensical

But his equivalent scene would be more like the trailer he goes back to. It shows the consequences of his macho attitude. And theres also the alluded murder scene of his wife
I always interpreted this as using Bruce as a metric for Cliff's power level. Bruce at this time was a young actor with a chip on his shoulder trying to make it. Saying wild shit like he'd make Ali a cripple makes him seem like some serious shit. Plus I need remind you all that the fight was tied and there's no way of knowing who would actually have won.
The point of this scene is to show why Cliff can't work as a stunt double and to show off his fighting ability for the first time. Idk what Tarantino was on when he talked that shit about Bruce because there's no need to justify it like that. We also see Bruce twice later on, in 69 (versus the 66 Bruce seen in Cliff's flashback), and he's not in any way an butthole. At the very least, he progressed as a person.
Has Cinemaphile ever been in a fight? What were the circumstances behind it, and how did the fight go?
Why did he keep coming back?
There was a molestable child inside the store.
Jesus Christ that white boy is embarassing.
I got into a brawl at the yearly town rodeo last week. Lost my crown. Don't remember what started it really, just remember going to the watering hole after and seeing a couple other fights go on.
Calgary, mah homie?
You better keep your revolver handy in case he comes back with a posse
kick the other person in the knee, hard

Learn to muay thai, homosexual.

If someone hits you then you should shoot them

>me too!
What a nice scene
This scene alone banned the movie from China and got the Bruce Lee family upset. Tarantino only truly loves feet and the USA.

Has it ever been proven that Bruce Lee admired Cassius Clay?
What were Bruce Lee dick riders so upset about?
They thought he didn't admire Cassius Clay
Tarantino just lied about him. This scene and Tarantino's subsequent interviews about it make it seem like he has some deeply personal issues with Bruce Lee. wait so you mean he admired cassius clay sexually in the movie?
bruce lee wasn't gay :^(
extremely low quality post
thanks I'm from reddit

Bruce Lee stated in no uncertain terms that Ali would "kill him" in a fight.
Tarantino is a moronic footgay pedo.

it made him look like a total butthole lol but it was just cliff imagining the scenario
Look stop trying to analyze so deep into was bruce lee a dick or whatever and tarantinos theories

he's a small guy for you
NOW I ADMIRE BARADU PITTU, I DO
When this came out it was at the peak of the asian cope on Cinemaphile and i just keked so hard at the seething and the "NO BRAD PITTERU" threads. Good times bros.
Yeah those were fun
OH HAHAHAHA IT'S SO FUNNY TO EMASCULATE ASIAN MEN SO SOME PEDOPHILE CAN MAKE A CHEAP JOKE
>IT'S SO FUNNY TO EMASCULATE ASIAN MEN
It's funnier when they are seething manlets like that Luna gay.
This one is my favorite edit
Here's mine
What if he and the white dude who liked Asian girls became friends and they helped each other get Asian/White gfs? Wouldn't that have solved all the problems?
>live in Asia
>every single grievance goes away
maybe Luna should frick off to whatever SEA shithole he's originally from?
the movie should’ve been an hour shorter and this scene should’ve been 30 minutes
>be bruce lee fan
>kinda upset at this scene.
>understand that although this is a work of fiction and that the actor did a very good job, it was still uncharacteristic of bruce lee and tarantino was moronic about him

was Bruce really this obnoxious in real life?
he was a certainly a phony, a drug user, he cheated on his wife and died on his mistress' couch after his brain exploded or something.
What makes you think hes different from any other celeb? he was a superstar at the time so yes he was 100% and butthole and Gorilla Gene LeBell kicked his ass
He was an butthole as a kid and young adult but settled down once he finally made it.
He was still always a spicy guy though.
t. Bruce stan
>admires his BBC
Reminder that Bruce was a closet homosexual.
What if Bruce Lee didn't admire Cassius Clay?
> Now, I admire Antonio Inoki, I really do
Movie saved

it wasn't a memory
Then why even bother having his boss and his wife there. I dont think Tarantino has ever made a dream sequence he more does alternative history
It's how he envisions like the only people who would have caused him problems or reprimanded him were people he'd already had bad experiences with or people he didn't respect

Looking up info for this I found out that Roman Polanski gave Bruce Lee this suit. Absolutely based
